Maybe instead of blaming nursery you could teach her not to say it, works for my 2.

Well, yes, we've explained we don't won't those sort of words. Not sure if I'm just confirming that they are 'naughty' words so she can store that nugget of infomation for a more embarassing time…

Next doors little one has just started calling her dad a gimp!

Always use CTRL-F5 when refreshing – often we have cacheing issues and I have to bat people over the head when they call me over.

Presumably you haven't sent the CSS file to the wrong place. That won't be the first time it's happened….

It will be interesting what the future holds for magazines.

How many people wander into WHSmiths (other newsagents are available) for a quick scan of the magazines – cars, bikes, hifi etc. on their dinnertimes. Maybe an article grabs you and you pay for it, other times you realise it's just full of tat and you put it back. Wonder what the percentage of magazines market is made from that? You don't get that flexibility with something you have to subscribe to.

Yes, in theory it should be cheaper with online subscriptions but don't be too certain. MP3s aren't exactly a bargain to download again CDs are they?

Combine eBooks, search engines and GPS and suddenly your advertising is a lot more specific to you. Certainly could throw up some nice combinations if you are'reading' your iPad on the bus when it thinks you're off to that massage parlour you googled last night in private and throws up a big advert for all to see!

If you've anyone who got the Sunday Mail last sunday I think there was the start of a series of articles about exercise, food and breathing techniques – I didn't read it fully at my folks but might be worth investigating, looked interesting anyway.

Bit of exercise now that the weather has improved? Pretty much the answers I've seen whilst looking around.

I'll have more of a poke around at those links.

The tart in me is trying to avoid putting Shimano cranks on a Campag setup (hence limited choice of lower cassette). Maybe a shiney silver Stylo with bigger rings might be okay with the style police….

    "better spec than a netbook"

Or (amongst other rumours) it could just be running iPhone software on a bigger screen. Lets hope you can have more than one application running then…..

It'll only be a better spec than a netbook if Apple charge £800 for it. Then it'll become the must have item.

Personally I hope it is just a massive iPhone so you have to look like Dom Joly when you take calls on it!

I used to participate up to national level in probably one of the most boring sports to spectate on – rifle shooting.

Markmen all trained to be calm, not show any emotion. Target 10metres, 50 metres away and you can't see what score they've got etc.

They tried to make it more exciting for the Olympics etc. by having a shoot-off final, with scores posted after each shot. But not exactly an edge-of-your seat moment it has to be said.

No wonder any medalists we've had get a 10 second mention on any sports programmes….

    Oh, and squash too.

Cue the mad panic when all the Labour MPs now realise they are definitely gonna to lose their seats. A desperate measure to distract people from what they've done.

Well if she's an ex-neighbour you presumably have already spoken to her (or at least seen her) face-to-face….

Give her a bell, even just to leave her your number just in case she ever fancies a drink sometime and a catch-up. Sure that'll be 'code' enough for a subtle woman to realise she was been asked out for a date!

John, you're missing the point a little. I'm presuming you pay for your recording time and your practice time like a lot of bands do. So in effect you've got to have jobs to sustain the hobby (no offence).

Great, you get gigs, walk away with 100 quid each. Pocket money if effect. Yes, you can give away you music fairly easily but that don't pay the bills…

These big bands like the Stones have been supported by their record companies for years and through greed (can't say if the bands greed or the record company) they've decided their fan base is large enough to sustain touring only and relying on their old back catalogue.

I'm not even sure how much the X-Factor winner gets out of the deal, I imagine Simon Cowell pockets most of the profits.

Unless you can get a really good viral campaign going like the Artic Monkeys did then potentially the audience isn't going to be there. Even that girl who supposedly 'broadcast' her songs from her basement was found out to be basically used by Sony who helped her.

To be honest I bought a battered old Blackburn on on eBay for 99p, it's great, it pumps tyres, gauge fairly accurate. Does make you wonder why you 'need' so spend a lot….

Classic goes up to 160Gb, Touch is only 32Gb (or maybe 64 new one possibly).

I've got a full Classic with 160Gb, all albums recorded Apple Lossless, can;t remember exact number of CDs but won't be far off what you've got. I had to delete a few of the less listened to ones to get them to all fit on. If you record lossy then you'll have no problem.

If it's gonna be for usage on main hifi I'd say get best quality you can record them on.

Certainly possible. Don't think the Ironman will have any problem. If you can all get some decent training in as soon as the snow goes you should be okay. depends whether you all have a basic level of fitness.

To be honest the offroad sections are just paths really so it'd be worth getting some semi slicks, or maybe something like Schwalbe Marathon XRs.

And maybe a nice mate who can drive a van behind you/meet up regularly for drinks/cake. Try to avoid too many pub stops – amazing how they suddenly turn into one hour stops!

As Kato says, it's just the noodle that is different – front has 135 degree one, and rear just 90 degree. Should be able to get away with the 90 degree on the front possibly.

A lot of DVD players do 'upscaling' to make them look better. I presume BluRay players do the same trick.

To be honest your telly isn't high def so you might not see a difference anyway, but probably no harm in getting a BluRay player for when the TV gets replaced. Though don't expect any improvement from your old DVD player with the RGB inputs…

Probably one of those things thats a really good idea. But try closing one of Heathrow airports runways for a couple of weeks whilst they do the necessary work and see who shouts loudest!

I'd say pretty much what PeterPoddy and Mastiles say.

They won't cover things out of their remit – e.g. events you've missed, extra car hire etc. etc.

You'd normally get a hotel room if a flight goes tech.*

And all that probably assumes it's the airlines 'fault' per se and not due to bad weather/war/wrong type of leaves etc.

Travel insurance would cover you for the delays and costs.

*Assuming a reputable airline. If it's low cost (probably not with being Atlantic flights) they'd just wave as they booted you out of the terminal into the snow.

Theres'a great Shonen Knife christmas song, can remember the title.

    Altogether in a Japanese accent….
"Velly melly chrismas, velly melly chrismas, happy new year"

Why there isn't anymore these days? Well, probably X-factor has presumably killed off the Christmas record as we know it.

Would be interesting to see how the new Smart 2W Lunar 35 front light performs – could be a pretty decent road light – £35 a pop could make a pretty decent setup with two for £70…

You can get gel bits that fit on the tops and the drops if you want to do it the fancy way (think Specialized, Cinelli and Fizik do it amongst others).

Failing that just double up like you said.

Now where was that grab-on foam bars stuff…

Da Bomb Floata stems come in 60mm length on CRC for £15 IIRC. Pretty decent stem actually, I've got the 90mm one and well happy with it.

If he/she does try to claim back the money it won't matter whether it's in your paypal account or your pukka bank account. IIRC Paypal will 'debit' your paypal account, which will in turn either get the funds out of your current account/credit card if there are not enough funds in your paypal account.

But I think with a gift it's unlikely to be reversed. You've got the money, post away!

and there are 3 houses on our estate with lights up already.

Pah, the estate I cycle through has had lights up for four weeks now.

Someone has already stolen their lifesize Santas head. Presumably holding it ransom and will be returned to them safe and sound when it's actually the Christmas season…
