Probably going to get some Oakley Crosslink Switch frames next time – seem a good compromise and the inserts/lenses swap out quickly – plus they’ll be cheap(er) to glaze.

Cheers! I’m assuming your mother already knew how to knit and thats not a side-effect of the operation? 😛

UK 3 pin does seem a bit over-engineered granted.

But at least it fits securely into a plug socket, the US plugs are, pardon the pun, shocking.

Wasn’t there some yoof from some sink estate a while ago pointing his fingers at Cameron in some kind of pistol fashion when he did a walkabout? Was very surprised said yoof didn’t suddenly have some tell tale red dot appearing on his forehead as a reminder not to even think about it.

Sounds like politicians do pretty well assualting each other in the Commons bars – just let them get on with it after a few tax-payer fuunded bottles of the good stuff…

Mmm, not sure you can class someone who has basically said he was leaving for a new club unless I get a payrise pretty much every season since he joined MU as a ‘loyal’ player….

Could you actually get a bed (and I’m talking at least a single, not a kid sized bed) and some cupboards into your current bathroon area?

If so, then I’d not really see an issue. If your ‘new’ bedroom would take a bed then I think you’d be in problems then.

Stuff like the fall of the waste pipes etc. still being feasible is the stuff builder/plumber can comment on.

Short day – got in at ten after meeting with the electrician doing our extension. Two hour lunchbreak to go through the kitchen plans and a flyer at four for a hospital visit.

Thankfully on flexitime, though it’s taken a battering today 😯

Probably, but I am sure you know what I mean…

I do, to be fair the Huf haus would be pretty high up on our list once the lottery win comes in. Plus dabbling in the dream car link on here too 😆

Yeah, if I ever get the chance to do a self-build I will be looking to one of those.

Doesn’t getting some German company to manufacture it, ship across from the continent and install it for you kinda defeat the idea of a self-build? 😛

Had a well dodgy Yodel delivery this week. We’re having lots of building work done, skips etc. outside – just letting them get on with it.

Missus had just popped home, in the back room – the Yodel driver had opened the front door (didn’t ring bell), was halfway through the lobby door when she walked out of living room into him. Mumbled something about a delivery, handed the parcel over and scarpered before the missus could reprimand him. Reckon he was after a sly look around for anything as ‘payment’ for the delivery….

We put a lighting track in the new kitchen extension. Was pretty cheap and should give a lot of flexibility. I always wince when these eco homes on grand designs have hundreds of down lighters

I’ll check out the lighting rack – I expect MrsBreathe won’t approve though in here minimalistic vision from hell for the kitchen…

Plenty of glass/light coming in so I’m hopeful we can live with less than 500 LEDs 😛

Do you think the referendum damaged labour in E&Ws? I think it’s massively damaged them in Scotland.

I wonder if CMD played an (un?)intentional blinder regarding extra powers for England? If Labour support it then they’re 40ish Scottish MPs down come the ‘Engish only’ vote (regardless of whether they are in power/majority or not). If Labour distance themselves from that will it disgruntle their English voters.

Oh, and while I’ve got your attention – bathrooms – got low voltage halogens in there at moment, looking to get LEDs as replacements – would they have to be LV too because of the moisture?

South that it was a resolute beating. North that to go from 25% to 45% in 2 years is a great achievement and absolutely a great base to build from.

Sorry, didn’t realise there was a democratic vote two years ago on the same issue. Or was there a dodgy poll that suggested only 25% based on 1000 people who could be bothered to reply?

She has also had a truly baffling run with our windows- for the past 8 weeks she has left the windows open all day then complains that it is cold. I have tried shutting the windows, but she then opens again. Anyone got any tips for sorting this out?

Snap! Apparently we need to air the house out. I suspect its more likely Mrs Breathe needs to pop outside and want to warm the whole of the world up first to avoid having to put her jumper on.

I did hide all the window lock keys once after securing them but i got the ‘look’. There was no extra lagging for a week after that…

I think we need to find out why people voted No

You make it sound like a witch hunt – repeatedly asking the same question until you get the answer you want (in a potentially agressive manner) isn’t really democracy, thats bullying. The majority choose No, gracously accept it otherwise you’re going to sound like a TJ thread – “no, no, no, you’re all wrong and I’m right”

breatheasy – can I ask who you are using for the sliding wall and whether you are using bifolds or sliders. Interested as could be wanting 6 metres of similar soon.

I’m up in the NE but we used Solarfold (recommended by friends). Few designs on their website, suspect they don’t serve the sexy south though – Solarfold

As a rough guestimate, bifolds are £1000 a metre, sliders half that.

There are skylight options as well – check out Fakro roof lights but they’re not cheap either!

I’d say that was architects territory if you want something ‘interesting’ unless you can find something and tell a builder you trust that this is what you want.

We;ve just had a fairly large glass curtain/sliding door wall specc’d up for our current West Wing extension – glass is pretty expensive! Then you realise you want some privacy and end up spending more money on blinds etc.!!!

And you’d still need a manual voting system for those who don’t have access to t’internet, like the only people who seem bothered to vote – the elderly.

Njee I’ve had a few stumpjumpers in my time. Some a lot newer than the op. I’ve sold them and struggled to get over 900 for them.

and presumably haven’t had a broken swingarm either when you’ve sold them? 😛

I think a lot of people rely on the automatic setting on their lights these days, and fog never seems to fool that.

Make things easy for people and they stop thinking about it.

If that could use that design principle and make a builders arse type jersey/shorts combo they’d be onto a winner I think

Left a nice note on a folding bike in our bike shed the other days telling him his forks were on the wrong way round. Hopefully wasn’t set up in the shop ike that!

He said it rode much better after that when he’d swapped ’em back again…

Surely must be time for iTunes to handle high res audio? Obviously not the killer announcement for this session though 😛

Interesting to see what Apple can do to differentiate themselves these days. Read an interesting article a while ago about how potentially dodgy the share price was based on their innovations. If Samsung/Sony et al are all doing a similar product (for less money) then apart from that ‘fondle factor’ you get with Apple stuff how is it going to go down with the shareholders.

Are they getting to a point like Microsoft where its seen as cooler not to buy the mainstream/default (Apple) product.

A tiny bag of haribo is the done thing when buying bicycle parts on the interwebz now is it not?

It ceetainly is now that CRC and Wiggle don’t do free delivery on stuff less than £9 these days.

Top tip I was given – check out the cost of individual policies for both you and your missus – ours were only a couple of quid more than a combined one, and you would get two payments if both of you went. That would allow the kids a mortgage free home from one death and enough money to cover them with the next (e.g. costs for next of kin looking after them etc.).

Assume you’ve not got any death in service type cover at work?

Cillary Blue returned my Oakley Flak Jackets with a note saying they cannot glaze them?

Having spoken to CB before they won’t do Oakley lenses where you have to ‘bend’ them into the frame (like half/Flak Jackets) so you’d need jawbones etc.

Not sure whether Fast Jacket types would be okay – which is a good point as I need some PX lenses and happen to have a set of Fast Jackets spare, well reminded!

The good thing about my Canon is it will allow me to keep printing when it ‘thinks’ the ink has run out. And will keep going happily until it literally runs dry, which can be quite a long time after that point.

The old Epson I had would stop if it thought a colour had ran out and point-blank wouldn’t print anything even though I just needed to print out a black and white letter.

And don’t bother with Lexmark. The worst thing I’ve ever bought.

    We use Yammer quite extensively.

We have hundred of groups set up now (big company) so it kind of loses its point then – I can’t get emails from all the groups I really need to keep my eye on – I’d just fill up my inbox in a day with notifications, so in that respect you actually have to go in and proactively look for things, which defeats some of the purpose.

When it works – small groups sharing files/conversations etc. it can be quite useful. Especially if you are over a number of sites.

We have put ours on the market Friday for less than both of the others sold for with the same estate agent as them because they told me they had people on the book

Just means the ‘friend’ they are selling it to for a knocked down price wasn’t available over the weekend….

Never had that awkward conversation for a while now, ever since I found out how much her haircuts were costing 😯

Suffice to say I can spend my ‘pcoket money’ on whatever I want and as long as there is room to get through the garage to the bins then we’re both cool.

I’d go with mcnultycops option – the only time I’ve had problems with inner tubes splitting at the valve was due to a horrid plastic rim tape (Specialized, I’m looking at you sternly) which was just slicing through the tube.

Remember being told a ‘rude’ joke when I was very young with the punchline

    “yes, it is isn’t it”

but never really got the joke. Took a good few years before I realised the punchline was actually

    “yes, it DOES doesn’t it”

which makes much more sense 😀
