Seperated shoulder here, the best bit is I did it last Sunday whilst out riding in the mountains in Japan, meant to be on business lol, had to struggle through all week with only 1 arm working, making 2 presentations every day all over Tokyo area, now in Seoul and looking forward to the same next week.

Worst bit is having to be strapped up for 4 wks with no riding, then mincing for another 4 wks with rehab, then maybe for xmas I can start trying to recover my racing fitness again 🙁

    Ain't biking ace 😆

Bought one last year for my DH rig seeing as the zero stack Hope was out of stock. Its cheap and cheerful but a complete pig to fit and hasn't lasted long, always had a indexy feel to it and now it's fully indexed lol. Will be going in the bin now and I won't be buying another.

Bought my Ourys from ebay in the US as I wanted a pair of the green lockons and this was the only place selling them, didn't work out too dear either.

Well, for anyone elses future reference it looks like Fujimi Panorama is the place to go for lift assisted DH so I will try and sort a visit to here.

Hire kit from Backyard Garage House: http://www.backyardgaragehouse.com

And this is the Fujimi Panorama website: http://www.fujimipanorama.com

And there is some useful info on this site: http://www.mountainbikebill.com/Japan.htm#

Been using Altura overshoes over my Sidis for a couple of years now and work very well IMHO for whens it's cold, wet or muddy. They have lasted much better than some other overshoes as they don't seem to tear as easily, I have plenty of holes underneath but they are fine. My mate bought a pair of Pro overshoes and they lasted 1 ride out before the toe ripped forward and up. So the material is quite important to how long they last.

Another vote for Oury here, thickest I could find and best grips I've ever ridden 8)

Miss my old man for his witty and sometimes dodgy PC comments, one of the best was said whilst we walked to the pub on a summers evening and we saw crossing the road in front of us a rather plump lady wearing little clothing:

'bloody'ell, that would make you sweat!' 😆

I gave up with trying to get a VPN to my home PC from work, just too much trouble so I now use LogMeIn which works a treat plus its free 8)

I ride both depending what day it is etc, typical summer week looked like this:

Monday – Road tour with club as part of a sprint championship (~15ppl)
Tuesday – Cheeky MTB session on my own for a hour or 2
Wednesday – Weekly general road tour with (~15ppl)
Thursday – Mtb ride out with Mr B for an hour
Friday – MTB solo session for a couple of hours
Sat & Sun – DH with mates at our bike park one day and normally the other day is a rest day unless I'm racing etc.

So just depends what on etc, enjoy both although not keen on bif MTB groups as it always seems like you spend a lot of time waiting around etc.

Winter is very different, solo night rides all week followed by a group road or MTB ride out Sat and Sun plus spinning one night a week from Nov till Feb

My new ride now with just over 100 miles on it (but with carbon ti Keos on now and a matching carbon cages) 😀

And then there's my new winter frame to be built up soon, train heavy race light etc 😆

Just to add on from coatesy, side to side play could also include loose spokes or rear end flex depending on the frame etc..

    More info required 😀

Is this for a DH bike or road, if DH then I run a DA small block 9 with a short cage X0 rear mech, works perfectly. If road then what he said ^^^ 😆

What ROFL said, a short cage rear mech is designed for a single front chainring, if you try to run a short rear mech with a double or even a tripple front you won't get the cage span to keep tension over the whole gear range 🙁

I have the SealSkinz waterproof winter technical MTB glove and find that whilst they are waterproof and I'm happy with them you still get wet hands from sweating so much unless it's below freezing outside. Another pain is trying to wash the smell out of them as you can't turn them inside out etc so they never come clean.

Overall a nice glove but when this pair wears out I'll prob try something else.

SPDs forever on the MTBs, just never go wrong, never touched my old M540s and they are now over 5 years old, just bought a new pair of XTRs for the new bike and they feel the same but cost more 😆

Have mates with egg beaters and have been tempted to change before as they look smart and are light but seeing the problems they have has steered me well clear. But, they still swear by them 😕

😥 I use to live in The Mews next to the Outwoods, god I miss it sometimes.

This trail carries on over the north side of Duffield, up next to the golf club, you can ride over the top there to Blackbrook, then head up the Midshires Way and eventually come down through Shining Cliff (Ambergate woods) great tour round that 8)

PSA – best pint ever can be had from the Holly Bush just up from Milford. And just happens to be on the way back from the above tour 😉

I agree with tragically1969, if you are parting with a large sum of money then what is wrong in asking for a better deal? Ok, not talking here about a pint of milk but IMHO there is no harm in asking, the seller can always say no, however they could also say yes. If they say yes then there are winners all round, the seller makes a sale, the buyer gets what they want and save a bit of cash, the follow on is they go out a spout to all they meet about how good the seller was and encourages them to buy from that seller etc. If they say no then, well, none of the before probably 😐
