Anyway, for proper willy waving, we need to see power surely?

Having been using a power based training method for the last 5 months for both road and MTB training I would say that power output is the biggest single most important factor for willy waving 😆

Training with a proper plan and power meter seriously focusses your training effort. Whereas before I could spend 2-3 hours generally riding/training, I can now focus my effort and get better results in half the time!

Road riding demands more constant and sustained power output whereas MTB requires quick flutuating power output. Road riding is fantastic for fitness training because of this but MTB requires something a little different.

End of the day, just riding a bike is fun 8)

    Any opinions on Nudie Jeans?

You need to try these on as I found their fit is a little odd, as they are Swedish they are very popular over here. The wife has a pair and they fit nice on her but when I tried a pair on it just didn't feel right.

Tiz fashion so you buy what you're into or like 😉

Classics as the Levis, Lee, Wrangler etc
Classic fashion are the PS, CK, Boss etc
Then you have the MTB/BMX/Skate fashion of Howies, Volcom etc
Then you have the urban scene like Zoo York, Alphanumeric, Ecko etc
Then you have the trendy with Replay, Nudie, R&R etc

    All depends what your into.

My personal choice is Seven for all Mankind and Levis Capital E 😀

Good thread this as I need a new carryall as well, do any of these have roller wheels for dragging it around airports etc?

My most interesting and painful interaction with nature was on my FS1E back in 1989, racing down the local country lanes flat out at ~35mph. Came over a brow to see a rabbit running away from me down the side of the road. As I caught up and was overtaking the said rabbit it then changed direction by exactly 90 degrees and ran into my front wheel. The result was the rabbit became jammed between the front wheel and the mudguard thus hurling me over the bars and down the road. Result a badly cut knee and ripped jeans plus a broken FS1E 😥 Was so angry, the rabbit now dead got drop kicked over the hedge. My mate following needed counciling after, never been the same since 😆

Have been thinking of this for Easter, how much descending gets done in a day?

It would be a pretty expensive trip and I would be pretty pissed if I was only getting a couple of runs in each day
Depends on the groups, they will run from early AM to it goes dark but some groups run out of steam after 3-4 hours.

We ran from ~10am till 5pm most days, some earlier some later, some of the riders dropped out earlier and the rest kept going.

Also depends on the lengths of the trails, some will take ~1 hour some just ~4mins.

So I would say they will run within daylight hours until you drop 😆

It's not cheap but it's very well organised and you ride a lot.

Made the switch and bought the new imac 3 weeks ago, fed up of windows/PC related niggles forced my change, very impressive so far, apart from the cost all good, just works.

Nothing on their website? Is this going to be a general public release or just a few pre prod parts for promo/test?

Shame as I quite fancied building up a cheapish lightish 29er to spend some time on before commiting big bucks for a superfly 100 etc to replace the advanced later in the year.

Hi Juan, as we were all on big bikes we tended to ride the full on side of things. Yes we could have ridden down just about everything on a hardtail but would it be fun, I doubt it.

Parts of the SRAM test track, 911 and Happy Days are pretty narly in sections at speed. Especially if you ride the big lines and gaps/jumps rather than chicken runs etc. 3 of us compete in the Swedish DH Cup so we aren't really pottering around 😉

Going back ASAP and will def be on the big bike, brilliant place and with SBDH it is pure joy 8)

Can't go wrong with Michael and Switch-BackDH, see my write up HERE. Planning on going back as soon as possible, or when my new frame eventually turns up 🙁

    Love the place 8)

I've had a Mule for a few years now and I'm not overly impressed with it, when it finally wears out I will probably try something else.

Better than nothing, just make sure you warm up and warm down in some way. I use to do 5 miles each way to work and back in my last job and found it helped, also use to do the long route back on nights where I could to extend the training 😉

Any excuse to show the old bird:

In Sweden I am just about the only guy on the start line riding a FS setup and I do it for the exact reason njee20 wrote before, I can just sit down and peddle. Off road I am racing the 1 hour + lap XC series and some marathon events.

May be her last year with me racing mind as I am being seriously tempted onto a Superfly 100, if only the frame prices would come down

Love my 08 Advanced, perfect for my area of riding and racing

Been thinking about buying a 2010 but just can't justify the cash seeing as it still rides so well.

Well, even I would admit that Åre would be the ideal DH location in Sweden, but most of the population are based down south, along with the Danes so Vallåsen ain't that bad when it's on your doorstep 😉

Got loads of plans for this season, some sweet new lines planned plus we're buying a proper digger for big stuff 8)

Been living in Skåne for the last 3½ years, based in Ängelholm, little seaside town on the south west coast.

I also help run southern Sweden's biggest bike park situated on Hallandåsen, check Vallåsen, currently enjoying it's best ever winter season with over a meter of base.

I will be hosting the 1st round of the 2010 Swedish DH Cup at Vallåsen in May, and taking part.

Not had chance yet to head up north to try Gesunda and Åre but know the riding is good, I also know David who runs Gesunda. Åre is more than 3 hours from Stockholm, a lot more, check google maps, more like 7 hours!

Job market depends on your sector, overall it's fairly quite, om du inte kan tala svenska då det är mycket svårt 😉

I absolutely love it out here and can't see us ever moving back to blighty 😀

Can't beat jumping out of a plane over looking lake Taupo, they also have a sweet bungy there as well 8)

Can recommend going kayaking up the mangrove forest up at the bay of islands.

The black volcanic beach in Piha is stunning but watch the rip tide.

Waihi beach on the east side is stunning.

Ditto on the Coromandel area, those Kauri's are HUGE 😯

    Enjoy

No, not that I am aware of and it's not spoken about on the Tacx site forum. The only way would be to pause the RLV and leave it all turned on until you wanted to continue.

Would be a nice feature mind.

I bought an Osprey Exos earlier last year and it has been absolutely fantastic. This is very techy pack, lightweight but not weak, also ventulated for a cooler back. Very impressed and would buy one again without a shadow of doubt. Not cheap mind.
