I’ve gone a little crazy on Carhartt over the years…

4 shirts, 3 tee shirts, hoody, jacket, beanie

    and Volcom:

6 tee shirts, 1 long sleeve tee shirt, 1 shirt, 1 sweater, 2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of shorts, 1 jacket, 2 beanies, 2 belts

    8O

My brother nicked my Analog snowboarding jacket though and is denying all knowledge!

I’m going to the Crystal Palace one, but first I need to find this bierhalle where they serve currywurst and buy some records at Rough Trade.

    Beyond the pale.

See also: Short sleeved shirts, round neck collared shirts (unless you’re a barrister), shirts with zips and shirts with epaulettes (unless you’re serving military).

Bradford contains the worst drivers I’ve ever seen in the UK.

It’s certainly the only place I’ve ever seen a car mount the pavement, in order to undertake a moving vehicle! 8O

On the Finisterre tip, I have a Matanuska M65 jacket (currently 50% off on website!), an Etobicoke insulated jacket (currently a 30% off on website) and an Arcus zip hoody (okay, pretty damn expensive, but…most comfortable hoody ever).

    Timberland?

Quality products, making an effort on the eco front, reasonably good value…what’s not to like?

Not cheap, but Finisterre are awesome.

    Stylish and superb quality.

    Good thread.

    It all depends…

I’m not generally a fan of cover versions when they’re released as singles, but then there are exceptions to this:

    The Futureheads ‘Hounds of Love’
    Joyrider ‘Rush Hour’
    The Lemonheads ‘Mrs Robinson’

There are some great examples of cover versions as album tracks too:

    Therapy ‘Isolation’
    Dinosaur Jr ‘Just Like Heaven’
    Nina Gordon ‘Straight Outta Compton’

If it’s some lame manufactured pop act doing it to make up numbers on a lacklustre album and secure an easy hit, that’s something else entirely.

Ernie, not like you to be a contrarian, something wrong? :D

You must realise that most members of the public object to the idea of prisoners being allowed the right to vote. If you don’t then you either live in Hampstead or on Mars!

FWIW, the only ex-offenders I’ve ever heard enthusing about politics have tended to be Tories. I don’t believe that it necessarily follows that this would lead to a vote bonanza for Labour.

QUOTE: Makes you wonder why the government only relented with the utmost reluctance then. UNQUOTE.

Pretty simple really, the majority of the public (regardless of party affiliation) have bought into the ideas that prisons are holiday camps etc etc

It’ll be an unpopular move and no government would enter into it voluntarily.

There’s almost too much choice with Lib Tech these days…I was seriously torn between the TRS, Travis Rice and Jamie Lynn.

    Great art too.

As gusamc states, you have to consider the fact that it’s their home to, at least for part of the week.

Too many live-in landlords want to have their cake and eat it, in some cases depending on the lodger’s money in order to pay the mortgage, but at the same time resenting them.

This is also why I would never choose to live with the owners of the properties I rent, you’re always made to feel like a guest who should feel grateful. I had quite a falling out with one particularly bad landlord (more with his hideous freeloading girlfriend really) and ended up explaining in no uncertain terms that for £450 pcm, if anything I was a part-owner! When I announced my intention to move out he was literally begging me to stay, but the damage was done.

Just another person who had radically overstated his income on the mortgage application!

You wouldn’t be expected to provide meals.

Maybe provide bedding, but they’d be responsible for laundering it.
Typically, you couldn’t expect a lodger to remove all of their property at the weekend, just to vacate the room.

My cousins always seemed to want Flower Fairies, Sylvanian Families and the My Little Pony Stable.

Things have moved on since then and my neighbour’s eleven year old is demanding GHD hair straighteners apparently!

Reverse camber has it’s uses for sure.

More float in powder and you’re less likely to catch an edge, however this comes at the expense of somewhat diminished carving ability.

Great for park/freestyle and off-piste, but maybe not so good if you just want to bomb down the mountain. That said Lib Tech’s Magnetraction edge gives you the best of both Worlds when combined with reverse camber.

Lib Tech/Gnu pioneered this, Burton have a great system too (the name escapes me) and Rome’s pop-rock design is very well regarded too.

This kind of deck has been around for a few years now, so it’s not a flash in the pan.

My friend is doing this at the moment, she’s charging £275 pcm on an all included basis.

There were teething problems though when the first lodger seemed to think that shagging her was part of the ‘all inclusive’ package! 8O
Can’t blame him really, she’s gorgeous.

Assuming that isn’t a rhetorical question, they are amazing live!

Not many hardcore bands with three guitarists, it’s a wall of sound, more so than on record. Also, it’s a totally interactive experience with Abraham/’Pink Eyes’ in the audience for the majority of the gig.

Can’t wait to see them again.

    @Napalm – F-u-c-ked Up, I’m guessing?

I was meant to be seeing them in Southampton a couple of weeks ago, they were set to play a co-headliner with Against Me, but it got cancelled.

I’ll never get tired of seeing them live, such a good band.

It would be quite amusing to see politicians canvassing in prisons!

I work with ex-offenders. The majority of them are utterly apathetic and in all likelihood didn’t vote pre-incarceration and won’t bother post-incarceration.

    However, I’ve met exceptions.
