Never mind that. What are they doing outside of the 1990's?

Cameron did a Q&A with them twice didn't he? I thought he got on well with them?

I think they disapproved of his choice of biscuits. Or something.

The diet sub-forum is a revelation. 18,500 or so threads and nobody has thought to suggest eating less cake and doing some £$%^ing exercise yet!

Remember… Mumsnet is a strong political force. They helped win the election for the Tories donchaknow.

Oh, actually, well, sort of win. With Clegg's help.

    Did they bollocks!

That forum is populated by hordes of squawking Labour voting automaton harpies!

My mate's Canadian girlfriend hates me too, we should form a support group.

She's not an underwear model though, she's a social worker which you'll probably agree is marginally less sexy.

    Anyway, either:

    1) She hates you because she's an utter cokehead
    2) She acts like she hates you because she fancies you
and gets off on the conflict

In conclusion, you should definitely try and nail this bolshy mountain yank.

Either 2) proves to be correct in which case you get to have manic coke fuelled sex with a Canadian underwear model.

    or…

    1) In which case, what do you care? She hates you anyway.

Wait two years and pick it up for 15K.

Short of having a company car, being really quite well off or a member of the British military deployed in Germany (and subsequently able to make use of tax free cars with a NATO discount on top) I really can't see the point in buying brand new.

32 boot are terrible, utterly hopeless boots. Until recently they didnt even have footbeds. They still use the same last for a size 9 and 10 and just change the liner size. Lots of people wear them because they are cheap to stock and often discounted. Seriously avoid 32.

    Sorry, but I utterly disagree.

Have had two pairs of Lashed and a pair of Team Two, all of which were fantastic.

I've used them for a full season in Banff/Lake Louise, another in Chamonix
and 18 weeks in a variety of other resorts in addition to countless Dendex/Snowflex/fridge sessions.

I've also used DC, Vans, Burton and Northwave and am firmly of the opinion that 32 are great.

Some skateboard shops used to be even worse…not so much these days as they're suffering from the internet way more than LBSs….Slam City Skates in Covent Garden had excellent stock levels and carried loads of great brands, but the staff there were invariably such choppers.

Snowboard shops can be terrible too, typically rubbishing any brands they don't carry. I recall going into one in Poole (not Ride, the other one just across the road) with a friend who had bought a Rome Agent deck and a Dakine board bag from them for the best part of £450. The guy got really funny with him when he heard that he'd bought some boots from another shop.

He was trying to tell us that '32' (the brand) were universally regarded as rubbish…well, sorry mate, but they're the best and lightest brand out there, as evidenced by the fact that around 80% of all seasonaires I know wear them and they're carried by every snowboard shop worth shopping in.

Vans have some BMX specific shoes like the Whip 2 that are well worth a go, Etnies also have some BMX specific designs.

Less emphasis on reinforced uppers (if anyone has worked out how to kickflip a BMX let me know!) with more effort dedicated to bombproof soles.

My LBS is Primera in Bournemouth QUOTE.

    Mine too!

Really good shop. They were great with my dad too, he bought his first ever serious bike at the age of 60 and they sorted him out with a Specialized Crosstrail which is just perfect for him.

I'll be going in there at some point next week to see if they can get the pedals off my brother's Hardrock.

Actually….strictly speaking, 'On Yer Bike' is my LBS, but as you'll be well aware they're perfectly good, but not in the same league as Primera.

Don't worry about anti-English sentiment in Edinburgh. All of the nice bits are full of English people anyway or those posh Scots who have the good grace to speak with English accents. :P

I'm a real tart with trainers and would never risk any of my predominantly limited edition/rare Vans (Era mainly, but some Authentic, Old Skool, Mid Skool too) so I use an old pair of Etnies LoCut.

Wish Duffs hadn't turned their backs on skateboarding, anyone remember the Strombolies? Best skate shoes I ever had.

But a chinooke filled to the brim with sas landing and doing patrols with door gunners and a few police spotter planes and choppers would move things on nicley.

My ex encouraged me to have as many female friends as I liked. However, this was on the condition that they were all utter swamp donkeys with the sort of rancid faces that could persuade a rabid bulldog to walk backwards.

I like those Ford Focus RS chav chariot efforts, but I only ever see used ones in Bug Puss Orange or Toxic Waste Green (I'm sure Ford have different names for these colours).

If I could find one in white I'd be very tempted indeed. To hell with my credibility, I never had any to begin with!

Pardon my ignorance, but where is that?!

It loos ace….could pass for Hawaii at a glance, but am guessing it's in the Lake District or something?

It's a lovely ride and I'm actually starting to like it more than my Soul.

Jimmy – I don't want a specific jump bike so that's why I didn't get one. I wanted something that could be moved around easier than my current bike and its exactly what I got and its a hoot!

Well you've got some nerve…fancy enjoying a bike you selected then paid for with your own money!

Side issue, but does anyone else reckon that acting chief constable or whatever rank she holds is an utter lightweight?

I thought police top brass were all supposed to be uber-slick media friendly spin machines these days. If it wasn't for the braiding on her uniform you'd think she was a part time receptionist at HQ.

I bodged this for a mate. I used the allen key and a Big nut which fitted into the outer cap – drilled a hole bigger than the allen key then threaded the nut over the allen key and installed into the crank arm. Used a spanner to keep the nut stationary so the bolt in the crank arm undoes and pulls off the crank. if that makes sense?

    Just about!

Man, I hate going into bike shops unless in a purchasing capacity. I always get the feeling that everyone else in there can strip and reassemble a bike in pitch darkness.

    bravohotel9er
    Free Member

Actually…might be able to get around it.

Cutting a long story short, I've broken my bash ring and want to fit a new one. If I just remove the driveside pedal and use a 5mm allen key to remove the current bash ring, is there even any need to remove the whole crank arm?

I apologise for the Play School nature of this question!

Pardon the doubtless blasphemous nature of my question, but as someone who knows nothing about FS bikes (and only slightly more about hardtails), what makes the 5 AM worth the best part of a grand more than say, a Specialized Enduro Comp?

+1 Molgrips. For me, the Archers invokes an instant channel switch.

Nothing. I don't want to end up oblivious to cyclists coming up the towpath behind me shouting at the top of their lungs.

Do you not feel terribly claustrophobic being unable to perceive anything behind you?

I run on footpaths in suburban West Bournemouth by and large.

Rarely encounter any cyclists as I run very early in the morning/late at night. Loads of runners around here though.

Hopeless Records Sampler (kiddie punk from the mid 90s NYC)

I used to buy loads of stuff on Hopeless when i was a teen (30 now)…

They seem to trade exclusively in dodgy fauxmo now, but they used to have Dillinger Four, 88 fingers Louie, Digger (when they were still good), Samian, Scared of Chaka and all manner of high octane goodness.

    'Ourselves', 'yourselves' and 'myself'….

Utterly neutral on their own, but when left in the hands of some of my plantlife colleagues you end up receiving emails/telephone calls along the lines of:

'Ourselves have contacted yourselves about this matter on previous occasions. If yourselves could reply to myself, then ourselves will be in a position to pursue it further'
