    Cheers for the recommendations.

Okay, on the food front…something Mediterranean like Tapas or Greek would be good, any thoughts? Decent Italian more than acceptable too.

My ex wanted to try S&M so I bought her a crayfish and pesto sandwich on focaccia and a lambswool v-neck.

    She left me.

A few people have mentioned the 2.0 'GTI'…

The UK was the only country in the world where the 2.0 Golf MK4 was even marketed as a GTI, everywhere else it was simply called the 2.0.

    That's because it was just a 2.0.

The never less than greedy UK VAG dealership network wanted to cash in on this country's insatiable appetite for hot hatches and allegedly refused to stock it unless it was badged as a GTI.

That's what a salesman at Breeze Volkswagen in Poole told me anyway.

Suggestion from a local: Go for pre-gig dinner/drinks at Urban Beach…only a couple of minutes walk from the venue. The food is delicious, the place is great, always packed full of attractive women and their policy of not stocking gopping mass produced lager keeps the less salubrious Boscombe locals out!

Njee – a bit over the mark there. I suspect those kids died soon after that pic was taken.

I suspect they got hired for an American Apparel catalogue shoot.

    I'm too pretty to punch.

However, if there's one thing I've learned it's that there is an even worse answer to 'Are you looking at my bird?' than 'Yes' and that is to answer with an incredulous 'No way!'. He won't like it and she will now be demanding that he hits you too.

I work for probation and test people for drugs on a daily basis.

The tests fail on a regular basis. We have guys who are off their tits on anything they can get hold off passing, whilst others with no past history of substance abuse and entirely unrelated offences come up positive.

Seems a little heavy asking you to take a test pre-employment though. What's the job if you don't mind me asking?

Typically, enthusiasts will be somewhat well upholstered 45 year old men with jobs in accountancy or middle management looking for something that affords them the opportunity to get muddy with other men in rural locales and forget about the dull grind of the 9-to-5.

So, nothing like STW then. 😛

    I'm not surprised.

I used to work for JPMorgan Chase's Trade Bank of Iraq liaison team and senior officials from the Ministry of Finance would regularly get stopped at the border with Toyota Landcruisers packed to the gills with dollar bills.

The whole thing was utterly chaotic and their executives had a remarkably blase attitude to the millions of dollars that seemed to disappear into administrative black holes.

As above…Americans are amongst the warmest, most welcoming people you could ever meet.

I have only ever had positive experiences in the United States and we could learn a lot from them in a great many ways.

    Still, what do I know?

I'm 30, have never ridden a single speed, don't drive an Audi estate and detest the Labour party. 😛

That's what I love about Scots nationalists. They love Scotland, but choose to live as far away from the place as possible! 😆

Ye kinda liked by the Welsh, Disliked by the Scots, F'ing detested by the Irish, Spat upon by the French!

Would somebody be so kind as to translate this?

It appears to be loosely based on the beautiful English language, but as filtered through the tiny fortified wine addled mind of an illegitimate plastic paddy with an exceptionally weak grasp of history.

Based on what you want it for, I can't help but feel that a Pitch Pro would be far better than any of those UltraMegaRavineAngelSuperPatrolMeisters.

Yeah, definitely a really friendly event.

Went to Trucks 7,8,9 & 10, but missed last year due to it clashing with PJ Harvey's headline slot at Camp Bestival. Year before that I think it clashed with Latitude.

    My favourite festival though.

Ah! more scottish bashing from the engerlish.
The reason Scotland still exists is because half of us are all f'ing mental.
You could never wipe us out, so settled for a flawed union instead.

Half of you may well be 'f'ing mental', the other half of you are English.

The union was actually 'your' idea. You were skint, we were not. Fast forward 300 years and plus ca change!

Colonel Decker is the bad guy not Hannibal, Hannibal is John Smith.
    Posted 1 minute ago # Report-Post

    I know!

As such, Colonel Decker was 'on Hannibal's trail' in his capacity as an officer in the US Army's military police.

FFS, this is a new level of pedantry even for STW! 😛

We were nominated for (and eventually won) a team award for outstanding contribution to criminal justice last year.

It didn't seem to cut any ice with our heroically inept senior management who proceeded to press ahead with yet another pointless reorganisation. One year later and just over half of us have resigned, transferred or retired.

    Thoroughly disappointing.

Nothing to do with Colonel Decker whatsoever.

Latest MBR gives the Pitch Pro a 10/10 review which will amuse the conspiracy theorists!

Then again, it's widely regarded as a 10/10 bike so no harm done.

    I was minus 11.

My dad would have been a Lieutenant in the 8th Royal Tank Regiment and he reckons he was bored somewhere on Salisbury Plain at the time. My mum was watching it with her parents on a recently purchased television.

I draw the line at Last of the Summer Wine, only watch that for the local scenery.

I think LOTSW did a world of good for road biking. What with the romanticised portrayal of a maverick roadie defying his harpy of a wife for adventures on the open road and the constant clandestine erotic assignations with a 'glamorous' (well, compared to Nora Batty) woman.

That would depend on whether you've had your Fox forks serviced I should imagine… 😛
