But I DO believe that making negative comments about an Iranian man’s anger on a remembrance day thread is dimwitted patriotism..
Would you like to show us those comments? Oh, there weren’t any.
I mentioned that an Iranian man (he self-identified as such) had approached my father and accused him of being ‘a murderer’, it was anecdotal in that it was the only negative reaction he has ever experienced in five years of poppy selling. So, once again as you are obviously exceedingly hard of thinking, there were no ‘negative’ comments so what on earth are you on about?

bravohotel8er – I’m not even entering into discussion with you pal..it was Mark Twain that said “Do not argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
You’re right, I could never hope to compete against a Grand Master of stupidity like you. Thanks for the tacit acknowledgment that you had no point though.
bravohotel8erFree MemberThe comments about the Iranian geezer on the other thread being a prime example of how the arguments that defend the remembrance ceremony are completely undermined in the name of patriotism..
What comments were those then?
An Iranian gentleman, that is to say a gentleman who self-identified as Iranian shortly before accusing my father of being ‘a murderer’ (direct quote). Another forum user then asked whether any members of the public had objected to this comment and I confirmed that they had.
I must have missed the bit involving patriotism (‘dim-witted or otherwise), perhaps you’d like to show your working?

Start another thread if you want a remembrance day for farmers as this is not the one
Why? Are their lives less important?
Look over your shoulder. You may be able to see the point somewhere in the middle distance.

I guess I’ll get slated for this, but why is Remembrance Day only about remembering those in the armed forces and their families, not civilians?
Not by me you won’t. Stats suggest that serving in Afghanistan is about as dangerous as working on a farm in terms of deaths per annum. Cannot recall when last our local high street was closed to remember the farmers who died putting food on our tables.
If you cannot see the difference between the two then you won’t possibly understand any explanation.
We’re fortunate enough to live in a country where we’re able (within reason) to say what we like, however sometimes it’s probably for the best if we don’t bother.

My parents have been selling poppies for the past week or two, only one negative reaction…an Iranian fellow who accused my dad of being ‘a murderer’.I trust your parents were suitably defended by the public? Hope so anyway.
Yes, passers-by objected to the gentleman’s remark with some rather ‘robust’ comments!
bravohotel8erFree MemberPoppy on. I’m on call, but will be ignoring any incoming calls at 11. The only other person working here today is ex-RGJ so he’ll be doing the same.

can it be watched online anywhere?Falcoepisodes.com are streaming all of Season 3.
Previous 2 seasons I had to change providers a lot and waste a lot of time hunting about for working streams as they kept getting pulled or were fronts for lame contests. Have managed to watch all of the season 3 episodes currently broadcast on there though.
bravohotel8erFree MemberThis brings back some memories!
Meet me by Camden Lock Market at 12.00, I’ll be wearing Puma Suedes, baggy Ned’s Atomic Dustbin shorts and a PWEI Galaxian Patrol Tour 1992 t-shirt layered over a Senseless Things long sleeve. Might wear my Mega City 4 zip-up hoody too. Melody Maker tucked under my arm too, naturally.

Sharing desks…it’s corpo-speak for insufficient office furniture.

Hmm, seems I have someone to vote for!
Local chap who’s been a policeman for 35 years and believes “Politics has no part to play in the role of Police Crime Commissioner for Essex”
Think I might have to haul my butt round to the polling station after all
I utterly applaud his sentiments, but does that mean that he’ll immediately resign in the event of securing the post?

That said, they are rather lovely.
bravohotel8erFree MemberI’ve never been in a rowing boat and have about as much chance of being accepted into Oxford/Cambridge as I have of being chosen as the next Victoria’s Secret ‘Angel’. But, I just cannot understand the chippy mentality of those pathetic oxygen thieves who appear to revel in the disruption to this sporting occasion.
Do you know the background of each and every one of the rowers? Most of them aren’t even Brits. Have you met them and conducted extensive questionnaires to determine the nature of their character? If you drop your instinctive hatred for those who come from (or whom you imagine to come from) a different socio-economic bracket to you, you may find that you start to enjoy your lives more.
I think a custodial sentence is disproportionate, but then I don’t think people should be jailed for being dicks on the internet either, if they did they’d have to build a SuperMax just for this forum.
bravohotel8erFree MemberMy father and uncle both served in the Royal Tank Regiment, two of my cousins are with them now. The RTR are always said to be a good, solid no-nonsense outfit…pity that they’re down to just the single regiment now due to 2RTR being axed in the defence cuts to save cavalry cap badges.
If you want any RTR specific advice I’m going round to see my parents tomorrow, my dad served for 34 years and retired as a Brigadier having commanded 3RTR earlier in his career so he knows what he’s talking about. 🙂

Not seen it then?

bravohotel8erFree MemberWhich ones were those samuri, the ‘slim’ ones? I need some new shirts too and Tyrwhitt always seem to have good multibuy offers on. Slim fitting shirts are a nightmare to find, the ones at Austen Reed were huge!
bravohotel8erFree MemberYes, haven’t ruled out M&S either…I have a nice navy suit with subtle pinstripes from their Autograph range, I bought it about 5 years ago and the trousers seem really baggy on me now. I think it’s just that I’ve started wearing slimmer/more fitted clothing since I bought it.
bravohotel8erFree MemberCheers for the replies guys. I’m 6’0, 40 inch chest, 32 inch waist and bang on 12 stone so whilst not a total racing snake, I still find that most suits are too boxy on me.
Think I’ll go up to London next weekend and look in Reiss, Austen Reed and some other places.
bravohotel8erFree MemberSounds like the lyrics to an obscure Sultans of Ping song
bravohotel8erFree MemberNeither of them would get through selection, instead they’d pick a bunch of slack-jawed oxygen thieves who would otherwise be manning the Saturday shift at a provincial River Island.

People who smoke right outside shops/office doorways.
Posted 9 minutes ago # Report-PostI hate those people and I’m a smoker!
bravohotel8erFree MemberOn the petrol station theme, those utter scum who dilly-dally on the forecourt, often blocking the entrance and causing a mini-tailback whilst they wait for one of the pumps on the right to become available.
Meanwhile, there are a load of left facing pumps going entirely unused.
Why do you think they put pumps on both sides you ****, stretch the pump around the boot and fill-up!!!11one211111****111one11!!1bravohotel8erFree MemberI’m wearing an authentic Guernsey by Guernsey Woollens made in…yes, Guernsey right now.
It’s incredible, super warm. 100% new wool and it’s that oiled wool so it’s practically waterproof (though not actually), certainly windproof though!
You have to order one size up (so 42 if you’re a 40 inch chest). LINK:
bravohotel8erFree MemberWent to Guernsey twice in August, I loved it. Obviously, the island is pretty small with a population of around 65,000. Beautiful place, somewhat more unspoilt than Jersey IMHO…reminiscent of Cornwall in a lot of ways.
I found the islanders to be really friendly, they couldn’t have been more helpful/welcoming. The only tossers we encountered were the bus drivers and they seemed to be mainly brummies/cockneys!
St.Peter Port is very picturesque, certainly a lot more attractive than Jersey’s principal town, St.Helier.
bravohotel8erFree MemberThere’s a band called This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, they’re not very good.
bravohotel8erFree MemberI witnessed an example of heroically dangerous undertaking in Bradford once, it involved the undertaking vehicle mounting the pavement and driving along it at about 60 before rejoining the road.
I saw plenty of other crap driving in that city, vehicles navigating roundabouts counter-clockwise etc etc.

Indeed, I’ve worked on elections and voting stations. A lot of the Labour supporters I’ve dealt with would have been kicked out of NF meetings for being too extreme. They just vote Labour because their fathers did, etc. etc.Much of the BNP’s vote comes from former Labour voters who think that said party aren’t doing enough for whites. The BNP play a similar (though electorally less damaging) role in relation to Labour that UKIP does to the Conservatives, that is to say tempting away former stalwarts who believe that their views are no longer represented.
