Google Play Music sounds great! Glad you enjoyed Ned’s!

Music Magpie may well be the answer for any that I can’t flog by other means.

Rich, I’ll email you when I finally manage to get a comprehensive list together!

On a mildly related note, Tom Ravenscroft played Ned’s Atomic Dustbin for me about an hour ago on 6Music…I was chosen on the Charity Shop Drop feature after I found God Fodder for £3 in Bournemouth yesterday.

I’m not too sentimental about them…even the signed PWEI album (wow!)…I dread the HDD strike though.

My girlfriend had one and it was perfectly okay…no mechanicals and I can’t think of anything bad to say about it, now she has a Ford Fiesta ST which is bags of fun…I want one too! You’d probably get one for not much more than a fairly basic A1.

Plenty of places sell it, particularly online.

The jeans/trousers fit true to size in my experience. The jackets
are a little on the slim side, but I think that’s deliberate.

For what it’s worth I’m 6 ft tall, 40 inch chest, 32 inch waist and
12 1/4 stone and have the 32/32 jeans and a medium denim jacket.
It’s fairly expensive, but then so is everything.

Not to detract from the majesty of Nick Cave, but I like to listen
to Gentlemen by the Afghan Whigs when feeling down about relationships
followed by 1965 by the same band when convincing myself to give them
    another go.

I’m meeting a Swiss-German girl in 4 hours, will see what happens.

One bonus of driving an Octavia VRS is that if you hang a high-vis jacket on the back of the driver’s seat you won’t get knobs in rep-mobiles sitting on your arse as they’ll assume you’re a copper!

    🙂

I used to love Sultans of Ping.

Some other Irish indie bands who never quite found the success that they deserved: Whipping Boy, Scheer, Kerbdog.

The WHO research facility bit at the end could have had 10-15 mins edited out of it and it was obvious that the money had running out, especially in comparison to the stunning Jerusalem scenes earlier in the film.

Nothing at all like the book though, it’s a shame really because the book would have been a great film. As previously mentioned, a District 9 style documentary approach would have been great. That’ll never happen now. I wonder why they even bothered buying the rights to the book at all.

Nice to see Dorset’s own Lulworth Cove doubling as Nova Scotia at the end though.

Also, you must already be a man of steel because you post on STW, but turn yourself into an absolute machine. Oh, and buy a cashmere crewneck sweater…not sure if it’ll help, but they are nice and women in pubs might want to stroke you. Or something.

I went through the same some months ago. It took me a while to realise that I wasn’t really missing her, just the version of her that existed in short bursts from time to time. She could be the best company in the world and I loved being with her when she was like that, but I was deliberately forgetting the selfishness, neediness and alcohol induced bizarro behaviour that she exhibited over 50% of the time.

The person I missed never really existed, at least not on a fulltime basis and there weren’t enough good times to warrant the stress and havoc.

They brought my flatmate the wrong type of cous cous apparently. The backlash starts here.

I used to use Ocado for every weekly shop, but it’s not available in Scotland so had to stop

    At last, middle class rap!

Have you considered keeping it? My brother’s godfather has bought him a bottle every year since he was born (my brother that is, not his godfather). He’s now got 28 of them and they’re worth a packet!

I’ve got the common or garden Ramones and it’s absolutely great,
a seriously good long-travel hardtail. I imagine the cromo variant
is a whole lot better given that it’s about 10% lighter.

For me antidepressants weren’t a great help. The problems remained and I still felt bad, it just numbed the pain and I stopped caring.

    You decide. Actually, don’t.

I love 6 and the Flaming Lips are one of those bands who are way more popular than you might imagine.

I think 6 works really well, though it did go through a bit of a rocky patch. However, the absence of George Lamb has improved things tenfold!

I think the BBC were worried that the audience was too white, male and
30-45 at one stage, but you appeal to who you appeal to…plenty of other
radio stations out there (whether Beeb or otherwise) to cater to different demographics. 6 reminds me of the Radio 1 Evening Session back in the early/mid 90’s when both Lamacq and Whiley were hosting and that’s no bad thing.

Say what you like about the EDL, but they did sort our house out with a great value energy tariff.

Hope you’re typing this on a Mac, while charging it and scrumping the interwebz from a coffee shop without buying anything in there…and wearing £250 Japanese import selvedge skinny jeans, American Apparel zip-up hoody with the zip open, but the cord tied in a bow and limited edition New Balance trainers AND looking miserable

    By popular request.

Definitely time for a change of approach.

So far there’s been a startling lack of bleached hair, oversized shorts, bungee jumping and use of the word ‘rad’. I’m starting to wonder whether these chaps have ever actually watched a Pepsi Max advert.

IIRC armed forces (assume this includes cadets) were required not to wear uniforms when the IRA were active back in the late 70s for fear of them being targeted

Beyond the 70’s and well into the 90’s. It varied between units and
the alert status at any given time.

Not quite the same thing, but I almost missed seeing one of my favourite bands live when I was on holiday in Vancouver.

My then girlfriend had been for a walk down the road from our hotel and had walked past a venue, she mentioned this on her return. I asked her who was on and she said that she couldn’t remember, but it had been ‘something to do with space’. I thought no more of it, but happened to be walking past just before 9.00 that night when I spotted that it was in fact
Rocket From The Crypt on their final tour! Luckily tickets were still available and I got inside just as they were taking the stage.

I was never able to find a highstreet shop that stocked those particular
ones, but in my experience they are ‘true to size’. If it helps I’m
6 foot, 32 inch waist and 12.5 stone and found the 32/32 were perfect…
they’re a nice slim cut, but won’t make you look like you’re on your way
to a social media start-up networking session in a Shoreditch warehouse conversion!

Dockers SF Chinos – £85 and available in black. Good quality, bought two pairs three years ago and they’re still in fine condition.

I had two idiots road rage recently. They had stopped dead on a 40mph dual carriageway to wait for me.

    Police roadblocks, hey?!

The younger members of Clint’s neighbours were born in America but no mention was made of their American/Korean heritage. The film would have been more interesting with more ambiguity.

That would be bcause they weren’t Korean, they were Hmong.

But then I suppose they all look the same to you, etc etc 😉
