My cat caught a massive dragonfly. Picked it out of the air. Very proud. Dragonflies are very good at hunting (90% success rate), not so good at being hunted.
Otherwise he only catches the odd mouse. Not bothered about birds other than ones that have fallen out of nests. He lost a chunk out of his ear recently, I suspect a run-in with the squirrel family that live in the big old oak tree.

I have the smartphone app for the X-treme offroader, it’s really neat and works well. Real plus point for my 7 year old as he gets to play with a mobile phone and brings a gamification element to Lego. There are two ways of moving the car too – a standard RC controller layout and a ‘follow my finger’ layout.
Shame the vehicle is so slow and under-powered. I might look at changing the gear ratios so you can actually crawl over stuff. It needs partially rebuilding anyway as it fell off the slide… and the rear drive exploded.

Not seen that Lego bike version. Like the forks especially. Would be good to see a non-car tyre though.

    smokers.
smokers who congregate outside everywhere sucking on their smelly little sticks.
smokers who just chuck their fag ends on the floor because they have no respect for anything, least themselves.
vile habit that makes me instantly dislike you. no respect for yourself, other people, the NHS who will have to cut the dirty cancer out of your lungs and your family who will have to watch your slow painful death. yes I’ve been there. twice.
and vapists aren’t much better, at least they can plead ignorance because it’s not as obvious that they’re killing themselves.

I don’t really care about the answer but want to ask anyway, what’s offensive about Anglo-Saxon?

    nbt+1

I expect the Eurosport ground / studio team and the Eurosport commentators operate independently.
I watched the Vuelta highlights yesterday on Eurosport and ITV and Boulting and Millar seem to know more about what’s going on, or use educated insight whereas Kelly and Kirby just fumble around with guesswork and cliché. Millar also seems to have stopped making bold statements based on his ex-pro insights as he often predicted things incorrectly.

    Amazing. Chuffed for Paddy.
Roseberry Topping is the ‘mountain’ of my childhood and one of the few things I miss about living in Middlesbrough / Teesside. There’s just something magical about it.

Funny that a Panda 4×4 appears in the list

was it part of someone’s collection and they’re selling the job lot? Panda 4×4 is a future classic.

started my X-treme Off Roader (42099) build yesterday.
    very exciting.
though I did have to do some unbuilding as one of the gears fell out of a differential box…

I’m normally against non-Lego Lego but at £70 for 4,000 pieces, what’s not to like.

the law is bollocks, how come he gets a 10 week sentence when other drivers who do actual harm to people get nothing but a slap on the wrist and a ban.

I’m not sure it’s a good thing to be sticking biological material from Earth onto the moon or other planets

It’s just the first step to inhabiting the moon. Hopefully they will evolve into Doozers (like in Fraggle Rock) and begin to construct cities and infrastructure for us.

Out of them, only Home Alone was any good. But even then the first hour and a half is slow and it only gets going at the end. By modern film standards, the old version doesn’t have the constant action entertainment that kids like.

Sprints seemed more chaotic this year, the sprinters were watching each other and trying to get the right wheel rather than sitting on their trains. Possibly down to smaller team sizes, possibly down to them being more closely matched, possibly less straight flat finishes to get organized.
Far less crashes in the sprints this year it seemed.

Bernal, for example, is likely to go better above 2,000m or so than yesterday

interesting point – long attacks in thin air – exciting prospect.

lose Poels early on the climb yesterday

I reckon this was tactical, I seem to remember him doing similar last year, and being saved for the long climbs in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. There was no need to have a 4-man train on the Plank.

    Really excited for this stage.
The time gaps may be small but the psychological wins will be huge so be prepared for those who aren’t top favourites to have a go.
I’m expecting Valverde and Nibali to strike out late (after pissing about a bit to test old legs) but hoping that Bernal or Yates will show them that climbing is a young man’s game and go a bit earlier. Or is it the other way round?

well I like the stickers but I’m not sure where to put them.
I’m worried my car will get keyed if I put it on that…
