Strange, I’m 14 stone or thereabouts and there is only one landing I can think of where I actually bottom the travel, even then it was a cackhanded landing.I know what you are saying about the slacker angle but I found the opposite curiously enough, my HX 2 was running the same forks at 120mm and felt all wrong, I’m not sure head angle is the be all and end all as if you look at the geo for the Niner it shouldn’t feel as competent as it does on the downward stuff. I’m convinced alot of it has to do with body position/balance on the bike i.e too much weight over the front makes it twitchy or bottom as the fork has more to deal with.

I’m assuming that the folk that bought 29’ers and didn’t like them so sold them on and didn’t try another are still riding the first 26’er they bought as obviously they would apply the same logic to a bike with that size of wheel? 🙄

Why do you need so much travel for a trail centre like GT? I’m running 100mm rebas on my EMD and it eats spooky woods and the like for breakfast.

If you got a year out of it you did bloody well!!!!
Had three in mine in the year I had it, removal with bit of wood = 😥

Looking good! Had my first couple of rides on my EMD at the weekend, trust me mate you’ll love it 😉 BTW whatever you do, get helitape on it, the paint is cheese.
Belugabob, CRC were flogging them for £249 last week.

Couple of hours up at Carron valley today at about 3 P.M. Weather a bit biblical, pedalling downhill was a must in certain places otherwise you just stopped. Still fun though 🙂

And I’ll apologise to chunky as it would appear there is a pissed off Chumba owner in the UK.

Chunky your comment is hardly “just saying” mate, there have been quite a lot of Chumba threads lately and every time someone has to pipe up about the problems their american users have with cs etc. Having owned one and spoken to a few folk who have as well as reading the only good reports from folk on here and other UK forums I think this whole Chumba bashing thing is a load of irrelevant crap perpetuated by folk that haven’t even owned one or dealt with the company themselves. I also think its s**t that it falls back on Si who is an honest guy trying to make a living as their sole UK dealer.
No UK riders will have to deal with Chumba’s owner or their customer service so with respect I don’t get your point.
Seems to me its not Si that needs to chill out. Just saying.

Not sure about the hydroformed looks, I think it kinda loses the elegance of the 2011 backwards. Just bought a 2011 EMD for that reason, well that and the £249 it cost 🙂

I eventually found my frame myself today by phoning around the edinburgh and Stirling post office distribution centres and it was sitting behind the desk at the Stirling one where “no one could see it” and lets face it a frame box is tiny.
Meant to be delivered before 12 on Friday, picked up by me a 14:30 today with me £10 out of pocket for next day postage, f**king useless!!!!

They aren’t making me laugh, frame was due Friday before 12, have taken day off today to get it and nobody knows where it is. Parcelfarce as a mate once quipped, and they wonder why they have a bad rep, fricken amateurs!!

Nothing moral going on here, just don’t like it and I find the adverts progressively make me angry therefore it seems sensible to me that I don’t watch it. There is one thing I watch, moto gp but I wait for that to come on iplayer and watch it there. I do watch alot of films though on the puter.

Totally agree with you on the bag and bottle cage mate, have em on my HX2 as well, soooo much nicer riding without a pack. Bike is looking great BTW, always thought mine would benefit from dropping the front a little, although rated to 120mm (what my rebas are set to)it doesn’t always feel right.

I’m curious to know which of the folk that like them are riding hardtails. Have had them on my c456 and hx2 but found maxxis better on the 314 slappy I had.

This accounts for itself pretty damn well, its only running 120mm Rebas but never found it needing more. Found some mega steep rocky stuff today when I was exploring, literally had a river running down it and had total confidence in the bike. 🙂

Did it anti clockwise, if its been wet for a few days before the trail will be misery, alot of it is a fine sandy gravel which literally stops you rolling down hill when its very wet.
