Reported problems with it so far are not looking good. Light bleed, purple colour in camera Images, crap maps, the aluminium marks very easily. Couple that with the new connector that ATM only works with apple converters as they have placed a chip in the cables/converters to make it more difficult to copy making their £30 a pop products essential.
    Don’t innovate, legislate 😉

The finish on mine was so bad I made an agreement with On One that they would refinish it for free after the winter. That didn’t happen as I accidentally left it a month longer than I should have to call them. Awful finish, awesome frame.

I’ve used MW80s for the last couple of years, waterproof, toasty and so comfy I didn’t want to change back to my summer disco slippers.

I had to space out my SLX calliper on my Rebas until it stopped rubbing, just one washer on each bolt.

Adam is on the money here I think, bent hanger, had it on a road bike a couple of weeks ago, just one cog it slipped in, hanger was out a few mm.

It’s obvious they don’t know what they’re doing as they have no experience of building great bikes. 🙄

Have you listened to Flying Colors: Steve Morse, Casey McPherson, Neal Morse, Dave LaRue, Mike Portnoy. Might be right up your alley.

Yeah, liked a couple of tracks off it but a bit too commercial for me in places. Have you heard Momentum yet, Morse’s new solo stuff? Excellent CD with guests from Paul Gilbert and a 33 min epic as well!

I think you’ll have to do better than one album by a band whose heyday was twenty-odd years ago

Alot of fans see their “heyday” as you put it as one of the least credible musical periods in Marillion’s career, I’m one of them.

I also think tomd is right about spd’s possibly being a distraction, i.e unclipping when I think there’s a chance of coming off.

There is no doubt you need to have a bit of self belief to commit to some technical trails on SPD until you get used to them, even after a couple of years on them I still have my “moments”

you pull the bike around rather than shifting your weight correctly. Especially with jumps/drops.

Not sure I understand why this is a bad habit, its just another way of doing something. Surely the fact you can do that indicates being clipped gives you greater control over bike positioning, a good thing I would have thought.

The manufacture of them seems to be inconsistent, some folk as you have get ones that just disintegrate although from the threads I’ve seen on this site and others it does appear to be the 26″ ones more than the 29″. I’ve had nics on my 29 for just over a year, the rear is exhibiting the knobs starting to separate as you say but the front has plenty life left. They get quite a hard life too trying to follow Dug, good to meet you on Sunday BTW.

If you have a smooth riding style you’ll like them, if you prefer to hit the corner hard and drop it on its ear they are not the tyre for you. They respond very well to controlled riding that doesn’t upset their sidewall.

“they’re expensive tyres that last 10 rides”

Are you permanently riding on granite?? 🙂

I’m just under 6 feet, I had a medium running 140mm lyrics, flows and pro2’s and hope v2’s. Until I got my solaris its the most fun bike I’ve ridden, it replaced a zesty and I’d have it over the slappy every day of the week. It did everything I needed from trail centres/natural to descents off munros, buy one, you’ll love it.Finish is crap but I had no doubts over its strength.
One thing I’d point out is its noisy.

I’m running 100mm bolt through dual air rebas, non taper. Wheel wise pro2’s with dt swiss but changing to arch ex next month. Had a shot of one set at 120mm and it was great fun but the owner (Bigdugsbaws)has since dropped them to 110 as he felt it didn’t turn as well. ATM I have 2.35 nobby nics front and back but would be looking to drop the rear to a 2.25 when I next change tyres. Have had no issues with clearance but they are running with tubes so that will make a difference to how big they come up.

The pulling up being more efficient/powerful is a myth

If I’m climbing and my legs are getting tired I’ll pull up as well as push down with the opposing foot which gives my legs a bit of a rest therefore it is more efficient as I can climb for longer because of it.
It also helps me maintain cadence when standing and climbing for extended periods. With respect I don’t think you are correct saying its a myth.

Fast air. Any. The amount of damage a F35 could do would have only been limited by the amount of ammunition it could carry.

At last a theatre where the F35 will be useful 🙂
Mind you, that would depend on whether it got there and back without running out of fuel, return trip from London to Berlin with a bit of “engagement” and it’d be on fumes.
