Walking home one night and got near the flats where I stayed when I heard a faint beeping noise which got louder until I realised it was the smoke alarm from a downstairs neighbour. Checked the window at the front but couldn’t see for the smoke and the window was very hot. tried kicking the door in but it was too sturdy so I ran round the back to check and luckily there was a window on the latch. Forced it open and jumped in,opened the door and got hit by a wave of heat,couldn’t see a friggin thing the smoke was so thick, I actually tripped over her in the hall 🙂 Anyways, opened the front door and dragged her out, turns out her tv had gone up in smoke when on standby.
Best part was her brother was a fireman and he arrived a couple of mins later to put it out, thanked me profusely saying I’d get a bravery medal and all that crap only to see him in the paper the next week saying how he had saved his sisters life by dragging her from the burning building.

Things I’ve learnt are that the only bike I need is a Solaris and that having faith in the front end and knowing the bike is far more capable than you gets you over alot of stuff that makes you feel like a competent rider 🙂

Couldn’t usually give a toss about sport but marco simoncelli’s death messed me up for days. Even now when I see him racing in old vids it makes me sad for what could have been.
That would undoubtedly be my worst moment in sport, not some arrogant yank trying to pass the buck with the “everyone was doing it” excuse. Not even a decent human being never mind sportsman.

Sorry for the on topic post lads, I don’t regret moving from my Zesty to a hardtail at all and its been a couple of years now.

Crush up ice in a freezer bag and lie down with it under the affected area, won’t be much fun for the first couple of mins but after that you should notice a big difference.

+1 for ledger, just an astonishing performance.

1X10 32 front 11-36 cassette, works for everything, GT/Inners, Drumlanrig etc and have done a few all day rides with it as well, suits me just fine. I do find when I’m riding natural trails if I get long fireroad downhills I spin out a bit but its rare.
