Building a 456 carbon just now, lovely frame, nicely finished and cheap for what it is.

I just managed to get enough bits together for a carbon 456 for round about that kinda cash, would a 20″ fit you?

Be careful of freeflow, nice folk but the service is dire. Bought my Zesty 314 there, told I was getting a £100 or so off it, went to pay and voila no discount (bought it anyways as was last 09 in Scotland), told I could pick it up at 10am Saturday, went to get it and not ready till’ 12:30. Then noticed a scratch on it, went back in and was told it would get scratched anyways, kicked up a little and they just happened to have a bottle of touch up paint handy 🙄
Was also told that I wasn’t getting a shock pump with the bike even though that was agreed earlier, I got it 7 months latter after many ignored calls and broken promises. Beware.

I’m 20 mins from CV and pop up a couple of times a week after work. Although the recent trail resurfacing may have been needed its kinda taken the fun out of the runway and eas dubh. What they did to kelpies is a bloody disgrace. Its a good wee centre though for fitness training, you should manage a couple of circuits in 1hr 20 mins without trying too hard.
The one problem with CV is there is no flow to the trails. Ironically I think they may have made the runway more dangerous than when it was all broken up as now you have to hit warp speed all the way down to enjoy it meaning an off will be a biggie.

Playing it on PC and its pish. Lets put it this way, if you can do a fairly quick lap of Monaco with all driving aids off using keys then what does that tell you. Arcade muck I’m afraid.

Have had a 164,155,75,166 and 156. Out of them all the 75 was an absolute bloody lunatic, I miss it so much! The 155 reminded me of my old 205 GTI, pointy and revvy. The rest, good enough cars but a bit meh really, the present 156 I have is a very quick point to point car for very little cash but I think it says it all when the one I enjoyed most is the one made before Fiat bought them over.
It was mental, inboard discs, de-dion axle, gearbox over the rear axle for weight distribution and the buttons for the windows were in the centre of the roof, thats what modern alfas lack, mechanical flair and a bit of daftness. Oh yeah, ironically it was pig ugly 🙂

    Mine was red of course!

Did it last year when the snow was just melting, utter torture as all the landrover tracks were soggy and the wheels just sank into them. Its nice but I cant see the attraction TBH. Try going up the trail from Loch Lubnaig through Glen ample then turn right on the road for a mile or so then up over Vorlich and Stuc then back down into Callander for a fun day out 😉

Haven't spent on guitars in a while now but still have a few left, don't play anywhere near as much as I used do, the bikes take up any free time I have and I got really sick of playing in bands and all the crap that goes with it.

Hope they spend some of the money on the road leading to CV, and the bridge as you enter the car park . Its trully shit

And getting worse, my cars front suspension hates me for that road, and I hate that road for leading me to something so average but hey, its local.

I can't believe how much easier climbing has become on MTB rides since I started doing 60-80 miles a week on the road, split into 20-25 mile chunks. I also find I get cramp far less and decending is more fun cos I have legs left for it at the end of big climbs.

Ardent/high roller front, Larsen TT on the back. Wouldn't believe the weather you can get away with the Larsen in as long as its not mega muddy.

Whats everyone using for energy when out on rides, both for drinking and eating. Started this on Monday and have been out for a 1 hour MTB ride and a 20 miler on the road bike, feel a little rough this morning and I'm just wondering if there are any suggestions.
Thanks for any help, good to have a few folk on board with this idea 🙂

I started yesterday, grilled chicken coated in jamaican jerk spices with grilled asparagus, spinach and mushrooms, tonight was lean steak with carrots, green beans and asparagus. Lunches have been salads with ham and my breakfast was a couple of eggs with spinach and chorizo. So far so good but miss sugar in my coffee.
I'm 5'11" and about 95 kilos, wondering though, what to eat before and during rides, I'm worried I'm just gonna fall over due to lack of something 🙂

Hang fire for a couple of weeks, the pulse is getting phased out and replaced with the "wildfire". Much better phone and up to date version of Android 😉

661 Evo's here and veggies on elbows, have done ever since falling on the easiest bit of trail I could have found just through being a bit over confident with entry speed. I fell at what must have only been 10-12 mph max but still popped my shoulder out and had gravel rash from head to toe.
I also find myself far more confident when wearing them knowing that if I do stack its not gonna hurt as much.

How is giving folk info flashy?

Its easy enough to fit but the easiest thing is to only have to do it once so when you do change it use a ceramic one, that way you won't be doing it every 6 months.Bearings seem to be a place where costs have been cut with the Zesty ( don't know about the other Slappys) I've had to change the headset on my 314 as well and its only 9 months old, mind you, riding thought winter probably didn't help them much.

Nope, usual reasons, too expensive, locked down OS and kid on multitasking. Oh yeah, no flash is a deal breaker for me.

As far as I know the main additions are that you can make the phone act as a wireless router when its using HSDPA/3G and a significant speed increase. There is also the addition of being able to save apps to SD card, something eclair can't do yet without addons.
I've been running a rooted version of froyo(2.2) for a week now and it certainly is a good bit quicker, wifi router is nice, missed that from my HD2.

Avira free edition + regular scan with malwarebytes + Windows firewall + one monthly run of ccleaner.

All free, all great and none of them are system hogs.

Have had 5 alfas now, 75,155,164,166 and my present 156. Bang for buck theres not a car on the road to touch them and in the well over 150,000 miles of driving them I've never once had one quit on me. Electrics can be dodgy thats a given and as for the comment about them using oil, yeah they do but that just means you always have fairly new oil in the engine 😉

Yup, agree with the HTC recomendation, have had 3 myself and have the HD2 arriving today. Build quality is awesome, had an i phone for a bit but not a great fan, more for folk that don't want to know whats going on inside if you know what I mean, also if its for work as well the HTC will piss all over an iphone.

60A Highroller on front and a Larsen TT on the back, best combo of grip and speed I've found so far, surprising how good the larsen is even in snow! Oh yeah, running them on Zesty 314.
