Hi all and thanks for your great replies…looks like we will prob head to Selva.

As usual I seem to complicate matters as I will be out in France watching the TDF ( Avoriaz area) the week before and with no work in between my adventurous mind is working overtime thinking about ways of getting over to Italy to meet up with my other half for our Italian job.

However

It might not be fair lol to expect her to drive solo across Europe…( it isnt an option at all tbh).

So do I come back and then drive down as we will be camping and need tents etc..? Or is there loads of accomodation available?

I bivvied out on Cadair Idris this weekend….well in the hut. Was gusting f8 + at times and a cold NE wind. Apart from scaring myself stupid I was bloody cold! 2/3 season bag with army goretex bivvy bag over top. Had every piece of clothing on as well. Bizarre how cold I was? I reckon it had a lot to do with being in a hammock and petrified to move in case I dropped out mummy style onto floor 4 ft below.

Eat eat eat well to generate that heat!

Not sure of the routes name…but I parked my van opposite a pub on the road towards Twyn. Then picked up a bridleway at the back of a lake … Lol sorry but it was quite straight forward to find and recomended by the bike shop bits in Machynlleth.

I would not do the bothy thing on your own with F8 NE gusts fighting to get inside the hut though!! Had a total of an hours kip and kept expecting Owain Glyndwr to wake me up.

Im crying watching that…I don't know why I watched it as I know that these sort of things upset me.

As a younger man ( I now refer to it as being my other life)I have witnessed military attrocities…I am not proud of this – it has had a profound effect on my life. My path is now one that heals and helps rather than maims or kills.

We have a beautiful valley near to where I live that used to be a secret spot for just the locals…. ith as now become a must visit place amongst the so called Brighton hippy crowd. The crap that they leave behind and their overall attitude to this beautiful spot is quite frankly upsetting and downright disgusting.
