    Thank you for your assistance

My goodness what a learning curve choosing alloys is, I finally got some sorted and I’m happy with my choice

I went with Brentacre insurance and one of the advisors – David was truly awesome – He helped me untangle a real mess.. as I found myself after 30 years of driving with not a single claim to my name or accident but without a single no claims bonus due to a 3 year motor home policy with a less than transparent insurance company !!😳

So this is from a reputable company who lots of VW specialist use, I can only presume they’re so used to dealing with people wanting that low profile look – they presume everybody wants the same.

I’m dropping the van by 40 mm

Oh dear this whole wheel thing ??

Typical that they haven’t got them in 18s

I’m now worrying that 19s are still going to be way too big they’re talking about putting 255/30/19 tyres on it .. that doesn’t leave much tyre does it ?

It’s certainly a defining moment…. and life is never the same again.

The bond with my mother was special she was and still is the most inspirational person I’ve ever met.

Thankfully I got to tell her this…and whilst I know this is not always possible for everyone, I urge people to say all you can to your loved ones NOW… because as the cliche states, we don’t know what is round the corner.

I’m a lone working Paramedic, and in the darkest hours of my job and when I’m very much alone, she’s there helping me do the right thing.

I constantly see glimpses of her in patients, at first this was tough… and I cried a lot at certain jobs, which rather than detract or hinder my treatment – actually gave a deep connection that allowed strength and love to flourish.

Sounds like a decent enough plan..

Prob a good place to stay would be Amberley as although it’s not quite halfway.. it gives you an easier first day if things are tougher than you expected/ weather etc

The Bridge inn does great food and accommodation

You may want to push on further.. someone will be along to suggest a stop further along.

Don’t underestimate the SDW – good luck mate

You lucky folk.. I sooooo miss my long runs.

Exertional compartment syndrome means I have to limit my runs to less than 2 miles otherwise I can’t feel my feet and the calf pain is uncomfortable

That said I get out a couple of times pw.. and running downhill is a lot easier as it seems to prevent the build of pressure .. so I walk/ jog up a local hill as often as I can….just to feel the downhill freedom.

‘Sleep deprivation, covered in vomit, and poo, constantly tired, exhausted, life changing, brutal, emotional, sleeping in different beds’

You see that’s where I had a head start and was totally prepared ….

46 here.. and we have a 4 year old and a 22 month old.

My other half is 36 mind ..

Best thing I ever did.. well besides the couple of RTW trips, climbing Europe’s highest peaks, getting wasted in Hamburg …..

    :@)

Embrace it mate, it will give you a younger outlook and age you all in one food splattered table sitting !

I was having lots of bloating last year..which totally came out of nowhere.

Twinned with painful testicles I obviously went to the gp and requested I be referred for bloods/ testicular scan.

Fortunately for me I have a medical friend at the hospital..and I had my abdomen scanned as well. Two small umbilical hernias were found.

I’ve since had these repaired – and hey presto, symptoms gone.

Now I’m not saying this is a likely cause for anyone else BUT in the myriad of causes and symptoms that people go through.. I hadn’t even given any thought to it being caused by a hernia.

I’m in the medical profession and was surprised that my symptoms so similar to IBS were caused by a previously undiagnosed hernia.

What I’m trying to say is that our bodies are weird and wonderful things and it pays ( to have medical friends) but also to keep an open mind about possibilities and causes.

    Good luck OP

    BOB revolution Pro – buggy

It’s been everywhere – up Snowdon, and the worst that Glastonbury 2016 could throw at us. We live near the beach and it goes through even the deepest of sand in the dunes ..

2 kids under the age of 4 and both can rest their legs if both tired. Also great for carting 3 large north face holdalls, 2 kids and hand luggage at the airport on a recent trip to Norway.

Have a kids rucksack – and do use it.. but no way near as much as this great off road buggy.

    What a thought provoking thread..

I’m an ex serviceman – admittedly I only did a few years but I served and I stood ‘on the line’

    I always remember them,

But I’ve started to squintt at the recent social media glare of changing ones profile pic to show the world you served, and the parading to show off your shiny medals.

I will go to my little downland church and say a few words on my own, I’ll also raise a pint and say a quiet thank you to those I knew and those I didn’t

    Just my way..

    I’m doing exactly that Ro5ey

The extra £20 increase because of a routine op and a muscoskeletal injury is a tad harsh – the subsequent tests ( all neg) should now be re reviewed.

Thanks and yes let’s hope none of us have to use this..

m govsmacked that anyone could get to the age of 46 and two kids and not already have life cover of some sort. What do you expect/want to happen to your children if you get run over on the way to work tomorrow? Deeply irresponsible imo.

Stabilise your smacking gov matey – shock horror some people have kids a lot later in life than others

For this I deeply apologise to you and your easily shockable gov

Yeah I think I’m of the similar opinion , the annoyance is that my initial cover quote by Aviva was going to be £40 per month but because I ruptured my quadricep six weeks ago which led to the investigation for a DVT which proved negative. And my current umbilical hernia repair operation….Its suddenly risen to £60 per month.

A friend of mine is in the business and she has analysed the Aviva policy and she says it is by far the best on the market

    Heavy sigh…

Awesome bikes.. Sadly 7 months down the line and now with two rugrats it’s looking less likely of me ever getting round to buying one

Just out of interest where are you all buying from ? And is it still avail in the sexy grey ?

As an ‘older’ recent father to two lovely children – and having been left little or nothing from my own parents, this is something I give a lot of thought to.

Its also a bloody great excuse for going out and buying quality heirloom items..

    :^))
