I like the new foyer. It’s well-designed both inside and out. Prob would be a target of vandalism though what with it’s association by name with Edward Colston.

Cribbs is adjacent to the wonderfully named Catbrain Hill.

Was contemplating a lightning raid on Krispy Kreme earlier on though…went for a ride and a pint instead!

Thankfully? I’d be glad to be rid of it

    🙄

Got family who work there. Just want them to be safe.

I have been hearing sirens all day, but drove through the centre at 5pm and all I could see were back to back cars – it was gridlock! Is it always like that!?

    Pretty much!

Saw a couple of riot vans parked up on Gloucester Road about an hour ago on my way back from Leigh Woods. Not much to see on Stokes Croft this morning – just a few cracked windows. There was also an unfounded rumour circulating today that someone had lobbed a petrol bomb in Cribbs Causeway. Turned out to be fiction, thankfully.

My mum lives in Cleeve. Despite being under the flight path for Bristol Airport, you soon get used to the sound of aircraft. It’s only a half an hour ride into central Bristol, too.

    Cleeve doesn’t have a decent pub though…

While her powers of mental arithmetic were used to great effect on the popular programme Countdown, I feel she ought to stick to hawking funny butter and dodgy loans.

Got a battered Pace RC200 frame (F5?) with 420mm RC31 forks hanging from the garage wall. Criminal really, but I might build it up again one day.

After tearing my L5-S1 disc playing rugby, osteopathy helped me get some quality of life back. My point is that the treatment helped. I do not care whether there is clinical proof or not.

In my experience if you actually bother to follow the instructions it all works without issue:

Where’s the fun in that? 😀

I did not tape around the hole but used a Stanley to create a clean cut – not issues here?

I did ‘Stanley’ a small cross cut but initially left the flaps(?) of tape on. I guess air was escaping from between these bits and the rubber base of the valve stem. OK, my solution was perhaps a bit overkill, but it has worked. Well, I say worked, the tyres were still fully inflated this morning (10 hours later)….hopefully they still will be when I get home from work.

Stick to Mavic in future, much more professional

Yes, I agree that Mavic’s UST rims are generally less faff to set up. However, this was part of my DIY blingy wheelbuild…White Flow rims on 2nd hand gold CK hubs. Only the 2nd set of wheels I’ve built. Going to batter them on tomorrow’s ride to test the build. Gulp.

I await flaming for having tarty wheels.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

A combination of filing the yellow tape around the valve hole, an improvised rubber gasket around the valve stem and tightening up the valve washer had fixed the leak.

I think the tape went on OK (no creases) but I didn’t file off the tape in the valve hole after poking a small hole through it (using a Stanley knife).

Cheers folks. A few things to try there.

How do you maintain continuous tension in the tape while applying it?

I’ve been using one of these[/url] for a year or so on my daily commute – I drop my daughter at nursery on the way. It’s been faultless. It’s also very quick and easy to install/remove.

These are solid. I use one along with a 16mm chain and closed-shackle padlock. The concrete floor fitting kit was dead easy to use (hammer drill required).

I’m led to believe that a bite from a False Widow is much like a bee sting. For most people (those who are not allergic to the venom), a bit uncomfortable for a while but not life threatening. I suppose you would keep bees/wasps away from your baby so maybe treat False Widows similarly?

Picked up my replacement frame yesterday. No green ones left so plumped for black rather then wait 6 weeks. Didn’t realise that the new head tube was oversized. There goes another £60 for the headset!
