On a serious note, one of my mates narrowly avoided serious injury hitting a large log placed across the bottom of one of the switchback trails last year.

Well my prediction was spot on, on both counts. 😀

England were much improved and prevented Wales getting any quick ball. Although the final result was not good for the men in white, they are moving in the right direction.

    Tidy.

    soda…

Like any other frame, they can break. I know because I was unlucky to have mine crack on me. Lovely bike to ride though, probably my favourite hardtail.

Surely just go on holiday for a week and then send junior back to school with a 100% genuine sicknote?

when my dad died it took at least 18 months before I felt ‘normal’.

    This^

Took me a long time to come to terms with the old man not being around anymore. He died 9 years ago and I still miss him.

£350? A fool and his money are soon parted. Although, I only know that because I bought a set of Crank Brothers Iodine wheels.

I’ve got one of these, it seems to do the trick

I think an important thing with torque wrenches is, once you’ve finished whatever you’re doing, to ‘unwind’ the torque meter while it’s not being used.

    Doh! Too late!

Steadily? I think they hit Load and it all went horribly wrong. Especially St Anger, where he sounds like he’s hitting an empty tin of Quality Street with a broken paintbrush.

Nah. And Justice For All was the pinnacle as far as Ulrich is concerned. After that, he just stopped trying.

No. Cycling is better off without him if he is a cheat.

To put the original CB wheels in perspective, my garage was broken into last year. They went through the hassle of sawing through the frame of my bike to steal it for parts, yet left behind the (bright orange) Iodine wheelset which were hanging up in plain sight.

Garryowens tend to produce a one-on-one between two opposing players, both of whom are entitled to compete by jumping studs up/down/sideways. Fortunately, injuries such as sustained by Southwell are rare and I believe they are an acceptable risk in the game.

Merely debating / asking if others think this is a dangerous way to play?

Not at all, in my opinion.

The opposing player has to decide between competing legally for the ball in the air, or making a lawful tackle once the fielding player is on the ground. If the opposing player decides to run headfirst into someone’s studs, that’s unfortunate, but the danger is of their own making.

Topeak Joe Blow here with the TwinHead attachment. It’s about 10 years old and still pumps up tubeless MTB tyres no problem and will easily inflate road tyres to over 100 psi. Recently revived with a rebuild kit for only £4!!
