I tend to drop my saddle a touch if my dodgy Achilles is playing up. It seems to help.

Whether buying or selling, recorded/signed-for delivery gives me peace of mind. I’ll also insure anything I’m selling that’s valued more than the maximum the P.O. will cover without a premium.

I had this with another German bike retailer. Quite happy that my bank is so vigilant really. A quick phone call and everything was sorted. I’d rather that than they miss a fraudulent transaction!

Setting up Flows to run tubeless is simple. They suit 2.3″ (and wider) tyres better than 819s too. Flows on CK hubs are not light wheels, but they are nice!

The STW forum is schizoid. Sympathetic yet scathing. You will find both solace and despair within these pages.

Last year’s summer tyres usually do it for me. Given that summer around here only lasts about 6 weeks, I get plenty of years out of them.

Much like Lorraine Pascale’s program, the food looks pretty good.

Dio at Newport Centre in 87 or 88, supported by Warlock. Doro Pesch was the stuff of a teenaged metallers wet dreams.

we’re conveniently ignoring the proximity of the train

You’ll be all right. I lived on Cotswold Road off Windmill Hill for a couple of years with the train track running past the garden outside my bedroom window. After the first night, I didn’t even hear the trains!

I used a TACX BB tool which screws into the BB axle, plus a foot long spanner to shift a Shimano UN-72 that had been in-situ for a long time. Not sure if the TACX tool would fit ISIS cups though.

    This sort of thing

Church Road isn’t that bad. St Annes is of course the “safe” option, although it’s not devoid of crime just like anywhere else. A good friend of mine has lived just off Church Road for 10 years or so and he loves it.

That would be the place I bought ‘Misplaced Childhood’ by Marillion in 1985 or thereabouts. The only album I ever bought there.

It was called “Tape and Disc Control”

Ken Hames[/url] out on his bike stopped to help one of our group after a tree branch in the eye incident. I realise that he may not actually be that famous to some but he was a jolly nice chap who went out of his way to help. The Beyond Boundaries TV programme he did was pretty inspirational.

Bonnie Tyler. My brother almost rode into her in Mumbles.

She opened my cousins record shop in The Uplands back in the 80s!

You should be OK but when I get calls like that from my bank asking me to give them details over the phone, I insist on ringing them back just in case it’s a phishing scam call.

It’s only 4 years old. Neither classic, nor medieval! As long as you enjoy it, that’s what counts. Some people on here change bikes more often than they change their underwear.

Her: “So you just sold a pair of wheels and bought some hubs?”

    Me: “Er, yes.”

    Her: “Why?”

Me: “So I can build some wheels.”

Her: “But you just sold some wheels.”

Me: “I needed the money to buy the bits for the new wheels.”

Her: “Why didn’t you just keep your existing wheels and save your money.”

    Me: “Ummm…”

Her: “How much were the hubs?”

Me: “What shall we have for dinner?”

Got building work going on this year so just some spuds in the ground, plums and blueberries from the trees/bushes and maybe some lettuce if I can be bothered.
