The original Crank Bros freehub design. Seems like they only used “spinners” and not “mashers” to test ride it. The pawl carrier was made of tissue paper.

Brodie Holeshot Ti. Waited 5 months for it to arrive. Built up my dream bike then 5 months later it was stolen.

Mavic baggies have a different take on the popper. They seem to work well. I’m yet to pop out of mine.

My experience of Endura sizing is that it is inconsistent and that should should try before you buy.

    munkster,

Your drill should be fine. I used a basic Bosch hammer drill to fit a ground anchor to my garage floor. It’s very secure. So secure, in fact, that when my garage was broken into the thieves sawed through the bike frame instead of attacking the Pragmasis chain!

    Fudge,

It was replaced by Hope as the base of the clamp was moving/twisting in the post when under load.

The other parts were not replaced: there’s minimal wear to the anodising of the clamp bolt heads. I can send you some photos of the post later on? Looking for £45.

I’ve got a warranty replacement 31.6mm Hope Eternity post for sale if you’re at all interested. Haven’t posted it in the classifieds yet but email is in my profile if you’re at all interested.

Man Plus by Frederik Pohl. 70s sci-fi at it’s not-very-best. Next on the list is Neal stephenson’s new one (Reamde)

I did have an ‘interesting’ time getting some wired Bontrager Race-Lites on to a set of 6700s… it was very easy to pinch the inner tube.

    How frustrating!

You could make up your own super-niche wheel size and get rims to fit…it’ll be all the rage in 2014

Is the cycle path interrupted? Maybe he just wants a clear run down the hill? I see what you’re saying though. Dual carriageway + cycling = deathwish

I have a few routes home from AC/LW these days, all of which involve sections closed to vehicles. As long as I ride fast enough to shake off anyone following on a bicycle…

I missed the begining. Anyone see Liam fall? How was he doing before he came off?

Yes. He failed to exit the rocky berm properly at the bottom of Deone’s (sp?) Drop on lap 2. I think his front wheel may have slid on some gravel and as he stuck a leg out, he caught his foot awkwardly on the ground. I think he was running in about 24th/25th place then.

Really unlucky. Poor chap looked in agony to start with. It took the medical staff a while to stabilise his ankle and get the ambulance in a position to cart him off the course. It was strange how the mad cheering for Killeen stopped so abruptly.

I recently had the same issue with my 10 year old JoeBlow PX. The O ring in the plunger is not available separately according to extra.co.uk. If you do need to replace it, it comes as part of a rebuild kit (TRK-JBP01 TPK REBUILD KIT – JOE BLOW PX/SPRINT RRP £3.99)

Light bicycle presumably?, did you go for the wide ones.

Yes and yes. With black DT Comp spokes, black nipples & 240s hubs from Bike-Discount.de. According to the DT Swiss calculator, they should come in at 1509g (if the published weight of the rims is to be believed).

I’ll post some pics once they’re built, although I’ve no idea when that will be!

    Interesting + 1

I’m about to build up some of those (hopefully non-exploding) Chinese carbon clincher MTB rims. I’m well aware that I will, at some point, die.

However, I enjoy wheelbuilding and I thought I’d scratch the carbon itch that’s been irritating me for a while.

Tyres definitely make a difference, and rotational weight of your wheels affects acceleration. I suppose you’ll notice the unsprung weight of heavier forks slightly more when riding uphill/slower?

The biggest effect I’ve found though is losing the spare-tyre around my waist!

If you like sea bass, you’ll like bream. They’re very similar. Bream is great on the barbecue.

If the wheels were white flows on gold CK hubs, I’d be very interested to know.
