Me too. I’ve often used the road bike this summer for quick spins straight from the house when I’ve got a spare hour. Kids tend to occupy your time a lot…

Along with eating less, these short & fast rides have helped me shift 21 lb in weight since the start of June. I’m now faster and fitter when I venture to the woods too. Sorted.

Have you tried removing the circlip & seal from the bearing and then giving it a good flush through with WD40 to wash away the crud?

I’ve got a Renthal 34t ring on my 1×10 setup. It seems to work!

So, my question above. Why do manufacturers use Presta valves in their tubeless systems? Is is just because of the removable core?

What niche valve for STWers?

Honest question: why do Mavic/DT Swiss/Crank Bros/other proprietary tubeless systems use Presta?

My 3 year old cleans the bike wheels/tyres whilst I do the frames etc. 8)

It looks a bit like a tool I have for securing freshly glued tips onto snooker cues.

I still carry one of these for work in case one of the servers falls over. Ancient piece of kit but it works.

I had air escaping around the valve hole when using yellow tape. To stop it, I cut out a small square of inner tube, made 2 cuts in the centre of it in an ‘X’, and pushed the valve through it before inserting into the rim. It provided a better seal than just the rubber base of the valve.

I’ve got a 150 Lumen Stella. I’ve been using it as a commuter light for the last 4 years. It’s been great. It’s probably got just enough oomph for off-roading, as long as your riding buddies don’t have anything too bright.
