I only own a camelbak classic so it has 2 litres of water in and nothing else, i only meant as a means of carrying fluid, everything else does indeed go in the pockets

Because if you wear a camelback other roadies will know what you are. A mountain biker pretending to be a roadie. I bet they never acknowledge you when your out either.

They were all very polite and all said hello with a smile (probably mocked me once I’d passed) 🙂

Am I the only one that finds constant referral to the rules irksome?

Its a bit tragic, it’s just a bike, ride it and have fun!!

Just read the rules in dan67’s link, I’ve got a lot to learn!! 🙂 (or maybe I’ll just stick to mtb’s)

Mines just over 3000 on average, I’m 6’1″ and stay between 10-2 and 10-4

It’s just ignorant owners that cause problems, I’ve got a Boxer and a Boxer/Shepard cross that go just about everywhere with me, they’ve never caused a problem anywhere.

Thanks for further replys, I already own a camelbak classic but I prefer riding in the rain and if I was to hang it on the back of that it’s gonna be moving about a lot and possibly wet/muddy on the inside by the time i put it on. Having broken my dslr and damaged my knee when a previous backpack slid off to the side before smacking a tree and taking me off my bike, I want something more secure/designed for purpose, plus the classic doesn’t have any pockets!! Pads aren’t an issue as I don’t wear/own any.

Thanks for replys, I’ll check the nomad out as well before I order anything. Just starting to rain where I am which means there’ll be no dog walkers up at my local woods so me and my two are off to play!! 😀

I’m from the only village in England to have both a zoo and a vineyard!! Not a great area for riding a bike though

I love riding in the rain and always grab my bike when it starts, actually prefer it for some reason, came out of my local woods yesterday though into a hail storm that stung my face and head so much I had to take cover, the hail stones were the size of marbles!!

To be honest I find I’ve had to put more pressure in them for my weight than it says on the table on the leg otherwise they were too soft and I was worried they’d bottom out a lot, as a result they don’t really move much when climbing so i’ve never actually used the poploc even though it’s on my bars

I don’t know much about bikes/forks, I just presumed the RL stood for remote lockout, I’m usually wrong though 🙂

Are you sure they don’t come with a poploc if you get them from On-one? I got the same forks from them about a month ago and they came with one

Bloke behind should have just waited a minute and not started saying such stupid things once it was obvious bloke in front wasn’t going to let him round, bloke in fronts clearly a very angry man!! As if the guy wearing the camera actually released this, if I had footage of me starting an argument then screaming like a small girl when the other person turned on me I don’t think I’d post it on the Internet!!

Thanks, will give M&S home insurance a look. The few cycle insurers I’ve found seem very strict on there t&c’s, one classed your bike as abandoned if it was left at a train station for more than 12 hours, meaning I wouldn’t be able to leave it at the station and go to London and back for the day unless I came home earlier than usual. Also could anyone with insurance tell me who covers your bike when your transporting it, the cycle insurance or the car/van insurance?

I have the same problem, always seem to want my tripod when it’s not with me!! I’ve got a manfrotto tripod, not the lightest but very sturdy and well built, easy enough to bike with if it’s in a tripod bag. Normally got a wide angle, a telephoto and a 100mm macro in my bag when i go out and never had any problems with it being stable with any of them on a 550d. Have you tried a gorillapod? the dslr specific version is pretty good and if you wrap it round your handlebars your bike essentially becomes your tripod!! lol

I was a regular Thetford rider until the loss of my license!! Now i only go there when someone else is off that way, the fact it’s flat isn’t a bad thing as it means theres virtually no climbs!! The friend in question is a timber member but he dosn’t wear a helmet for xc due to bad headaches/migraines and only wears it for dh/jumping for five minutes at a time, apparently he asked if he could join them on a ride and was given a very condescending answer from the chairman about how he should see his gp and how he shouldn’t ride without a helmet whilst learning to ride a bike,(he’s absolutely awesome on a bike!!). He did tell me there was a rumour of a pump track being built there, any truth in that? that’d be a pretty cool addition for Thetford

Thats not nice to hear, actually kind of scarey that something i’d dismissed as not to difficult has the potential to put someone in a wheelchair!! thanks for letting me know
