did a charity tandem a few years back, loved it, scary as hell but worth it for the rush. i’d highly recommend doing it.

if i were to go down the bike computer route what models would people recommend for navigation use?

could try the os map route, been 30 years and many beers since i left the scouts but the mapping know how may still be rattling in my head somewhere.

no back seat and with the single middle seat folded up i can get two medium frame 650b bikes in no problem, slide rear wheels in folded up seat slot. still leaves room for at least two more bike with front wheels off.

found this when looking for my hols, didnt book in the end as ended up going for the morvan national park region.

i quit for nearly tens year. work and family distractions, laziness, add other excuses here.

so bloody regret it now, finally got back to riding at 43 and love it, cant believe i ever stopped and lost so much time, it just drifted away.

as others have said, make the time, the benefits in your general well being far outweigh the time you think your losing.

there’s very little on a bike that could be discarded and still leave the bike functioning. you could at least for a short while live without grips, a seat post and saddle, even brakes (killed a fair few trainers as a kid) but as mentioned pretty much every bit plays its part so whilst some parts may have a greater influence on the riding experience pretty much all are important.

i use a lovely walk near my home. 5km of bridle ways and paths through farm and woodland. its lovely, a nice peaceful walk and just 5 mins from home.

yet people ruin it by hanging bags of shit up! id rather they let their dogs shit in a field or woods rather than pick it up and put it on display in a plastic bag.

with two seats up in the back i can get two 650b bikes in easily and still have enough room for dog, suitcases, bags and even another bike with front wheel off.

i slot the two bike in to the gap left by the single seat folded up.

also classes as a car which is handy for insurance etc

44, have probably shaved on average once per year since teen years, go from stubble to beardish but never full beard. wahl is all you need.

got an 08 2.0 petrol vrs, had it 5/6 years and never had a single problem, got 100k on the clock now. comfortable, fast enough, space for kids, dog, wife in the boot. id happily buy another and may well do so later this year when i plan to sell this one off.

whilst i appreciate sites need the ad revenue anything that ruins your enjoyment / use of that site will just drive users away. i frequent a football forum which for a small annual contribution blocks all ads, i’m happy to chip in a few quid as i enjoy and use the site daily and i dont want to be bombarded by ads.

Easy enough to “enforce”: all lost dogs without chips get destroyed by default. Doubt many doggy types would risk it once a few had been done. (I’m not a dog person. Does it show?)

last winter, boxing day i think when we had the snow i had to abandon my car just off price of wales and walk back to dronny with missus and kids. sodding freezing. two days with my car stuck between gleadless and manor.

went to see a caddy maxi kombi, might be a good option as i didnt really want to go for full on van. enough space for bikes and kids in back with added bonus of clip out rear seats if you do need extra space. surprised how much room in the back.

last couple of orders 2/3 day, spot on service

reversing (not well) and knocked someone’s mirror off, was 6:30 am and nobody about. popped a note under wiper blade with my name and mobile on. bloke rang me later thanking me and said it would be £40 to replace/fix, fair enough. dropped cash round a couple of days later and big bloke hugged me for being honest! odd but rewarding manly hug 🙂

i have the bose quietcomfort 15 – by far the best ive used. sound quality is great, incredibly comfortable and great noise cancelling. i travel for work so doing flights regularly, these just block out most of the back ground noise so i can enjoy my music or movie. well worth the cash.

mid 40s now and never been a big drinker, rarely get drunk any more. just cant be arsed with the hangovers, just doesnt seem worth it to me.

went out last night meeting a few mates i hadnt seen for years, we did use to drink quite heavily when went away together years ago. anyhow my son had an athletics competition today, quite important final round for him, so i wanted to be in a fit state to drive and enjoy the day with him. so sticking to shandy last night, grief from all the guys i was out with, getting told to man up have a few pints blah blah. thing is a probably enjoyed the night as much if not more than they did and could still get up and out this morning and enjoy the day with my kid.
