I think the Wales boys have been bloody excellent both on and off the pitch. Playing he type of rugby that spectators were invented for!

As far as Warburtongate goes, I think the red was technically correct although a yellow would have been the appropriate punishment …. My gripe is the fact that no consideration, consultation with linesmen/ video officials took place. The decision. Made no bearing on us losing the game…. IMO the red card was the difference between Wales beating France by 20 points and beating France by 6 points. We will not win if we don’t convert the points!

Anyway…. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this tournament…. And , yes thre third place does matter (to me) and we will play with the passion that we would have the final…. (if not the same No 7!)

+1 for Endomondo, cracking little app. Does drain my desire HD and not good at getting gps lock. I tend to use it with my work blackberry, quicker gps lock & battery lasts ages.

I love it when people on an xc ride feel the need to wear body armour!

Aye difficult one that….. I decided to do the 25km route while I was out on the trail. It didn’t help that the 25km route was actually 32km!

Started with 120 marz bombers, bike was excellent. Swapped for 140 fox RL even better on all but really steep ups. Climbs really well in general but you do need to weight the front wheel on the really steep climbs.

As good as the heckler on the downs.

Well thanks for all the feedback but CRC have just got back to me ad agreed to pay the recorded delivery costs “as a good will gesture” hmmm should pay as a matter of course IMHO but Im happy as not out of pocket.

No wouldn’t ask for petrol on the basis that I have a relationship with my lbs and they give me 20% off anyway. I have no such relationship with CRC.

Will look into it tomorrow but I was under the impression it would be twice the price.

I did something similar but bought a new 2010 frame & transferred all the bits from my ’05 enduro. Have to say the heckler is bloody brilliant.

I’m still enduring dancing on ice factor but the 8th wonder that is sky+ will give me top gear later.

I struggled with the 1,2 & 3 settings!

They are better than the pure spuds Ant, but not great grip. I always clip into mine.

I swear by them got 3 pairs. I can bring some along for you to try if you want next time we are out.

Yes I’ve got into an uncontrollable fishtail on mud before. I think I needed to go to my LBS and buy a new pair of skill & bottle rather than new tyres!

Sorry lads been a bit busy with the beast, work & been away at a wedding this weekend. Beast was great by the way. Apart from the off… Ripped off front break lever & badly gashed/bruised knee! And with 20m still to go 🙁

Will probably try to arrange a Blackwood ride next Sunday @ 19:30. Watch this space.

Alternatively keep an eye on MTV-Wales.com the site is utterly dead these days apart from a few s-Wales rider groups who use it to set up local rides.

Weather looking ok but I recon the front crud will be essential as will be a bit boggy in places.

Anyone know if the route is available? The organisers sent out am email 2 weeks ago saying the map will be up on the website 'shortly' but it's still there.

In the days of cantilever breaks swapping front & rear breaks then challenging someone to pull a really long skid was always good fun.

In all seriousness though from sun 19th I will be organising the 7:30 ride.

Where are you based? After the Beast this Sunday we are planning on a regular Sunday night ride 7:30 start. Usually start from bryn meadows golf club but occasionally we will ride cwmcarn or Caerphilly trails. Shite weather is usually the reason for Cc as it rides well in the wet.

Further to that we have regular dogging nights on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Valleydaddy usually organises these 😉

Fridays we have a brief dog followed by a post-dog ride!

Summerseason.

Up until last week I rode a heavy bike for most things. Spesh 06 enduro with a coil. 38lbs. Heavy cos I'm heavy (21 stone) but just replaced with a heckler which feels just as solid but not in the same class of 'heavy'. Also got a summerseason which comes in at 32ish lbs which I wouldn't call light for a HT
