Zips. As soon as the velcro gets muddy, it won’t stick and you end up with a wet ball of neoprene dragging round your foot.

I use BBB Enduro overshoes and they are great!

    Do it!

    Works brilliantly on my Wanga.

Sod genuine Shimano oil. I’ve used LHM mineral oil in all my shimano brakes for years. In fact I have a set of 6 year old XT 4 pots which have not been touched in the six years apart from pad changes, never had to bleed them once, and they are still eye poppingly good.

Hmmm. I am also dead on 6′ and ride two Spesh 56cm frames (Langster and Roubaix) I certainly wouldn’t want them any bigger.

The correct answer is to go and get properly measured and get the “right” size. However, unless you are oddly proportioned I would go for the 56. It’s easier to get a bit more length out of a bike if it’s slightly too small, than to try and make a bike which is too big fit you.

ir-bandito – if racing ralph doesn’t want it, I’d be very interested. Mail me at boriselbrus(AT)yahoo.com if still available.

    Sorry for hijack.

Whilst I usually agree with Brant, I have to say that on this my experience is different. I have a Voodoo Wanga which is designed around a 100mm (26″) fork. I used to run it with a Marzocchi Marathon XC at around 115mm travel. I swapped to a Tora 29er fork at 80mm long and it works brilliantly. When you ride it you are in the same position and it feels exactly the same except it rolls faster and you get over and round stuff you you didn’t expect to!

and as soon as anyone gets hurt doing an activity they don’t understand goes on about irresponsible actions putting lives at risk.
Maybe they shouldn’t do activities they don’t understand, then, and then maybe they wouldn’t get hurt.

No you misunderstand. I meant when anyone gets hurt doing an activity the media doesn’t understand.

I’m not going to comment on this incident as I don’t know the facts (not that it seems to put off many people here), but I find it ironic that the British media frequently spouts off about “‘elf and safety being out of control” and as soon as anyone gets hurt doing an activity they don’t understand goes on about irresponsible actions putting lives at risk.

There was loads of us got done. A test case went to court and they lost. At the end of the day the new speed limit was posted and we were above it. Still not happy though!

This was a road I travelled on everyday and was a 40mph zone (hence the painted sign on the road). Then they changed it overnight to 30mph and just changed the sign on the post from 40 to 30. I challenge anyone to notice that when they do the same journey everyday. Cops parked just up the road behind a hedge with a speed gun and I got 3 points and £60 for 35mph. Not happy!

My GF is 5’1 and rides a 15″ Rockhopper which fits pretty good if that helps at all?

You can just swap them over. Before yoy start, remove the pads and pump the pistons out against the rotors. Then swap the hoses over, then lever the pistons back in to the calipers then you wont have to bleed them.

I suspect you’ll find that “bicycle” is what the DVLA call a motorbike to distinguish it from a “tricycle” – moter trike. Certainly the tax disc on my VFR refers to it as a bicycle.

For 27 speed you would usually want the SGS which is the longest cage. Only use a shorter one if you will NEVER use big/big or small/small gear combinations as you will probably rip the mech off or lose your chain.

The old TV is 24″ and that is too big for the room. We don’t watch a lot of TV and don’t want a TV which dominates the room.
