Ive suffered with Raynauds pretty much all my life (56 yo bloke) and I could talk for hours about how bad it was for me in my youth doing some of the jobs Ive had.

Fast forward to about four years ago when a guy on a motorcycle forum offered me some advice which changed my life.

I went to see my GP and asked for some Nifedepine.

Been taking it ever since. In fact I’m off to work (outdoor) in half an hour and so Ive just taken one.

In truth, it doesn’t make your hands warmer, it just seems to keep the circulation going so you can use them (and suffer less later in the warm shower). BTW, It’s not a cure. If I don’t take one tomorrow morning – I’ll suffer with my hands.

Why not try a new On One Scandal?

Much has changed in 9 years.

I never used boost cranks on either of my last boost spec bikes.

EDIT** Think there were spacers behind cassette and DS crank.

Then you have the 2x /3x lever which has never changed https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/brand-x-ascend-lever-kit-paddle-2x-3x-gears-/rp-prod150119

    Thanks for that dhrider.

    I definitely have the 2x/3x lever (27.2 Ascent 2 post) :-(

Riding rigid too and dipping into the plus size 29er tyres for the first time.
I’ve just bought some nobby nic 29×2.6 tyres to test but still need to build my wheels.
What rims are you using? Ive narrowed it down to stans flow mk3 or halo vapour. Did look at the hope wheels but they don’t get very good reviews and they are fairly hefty.

Well for the 29×3 up front Im running a Surly Dirt Wizard on a Stans halo rim (54). The rear is a Stans Sentry – tyre TBC. Both on Hope hubs.

Yeah, I often ponder why people harp on about the STA. My saddle’s great right in the middle.

So finally picked the new bike up today. Just ordered some blue hope bar ends as I am a tart.

Not tarty enough to line your tyre lettering/valve up though ;-)

Do we know the seat clamp size? I’m guessing 34.9 to suit a 31.6 but would be good to have a real number

34.9 according to the spec list.

R3pro have done 3d printed mount – here.

Blimey, £15 for a plastic mount. The helmet and light were only £21! Funny old world.

If you mean the Jobsworth 20w Bobby Dazzler, for me, I think it’d be too much on top of a lid.

Could be wrong, but I’m thinking its a bar mounted light only.

    Thanks guys (esp tazzymtb)

So whats the ride like? They look like they weigh a tonne. Surely that’s gotta hurt the legs/lungs going uphill?

Whats the difference between the mk4 & the Speedball Biplane in terms of intended use and ride quality? I’m asking that cos Im kinda struggling with the look of the mk4. Perhaps the Speedball has touch more traditional front triangle about it.

As ever, as i keep considering these, what size are 5’10” riders on? As usual M/L boundary. Need to get a demo really.

Hi Clink. I’m a sniff under 6ft 1, on a Large – though I could probably cope with an XL too.

My gut instinct tells me a Med might be for you, but yeah, Def try & sort a demo.

C’mon the OP. Put us (me) out of misery.

How’re you getting on with your Solaris?

    bonzodog

I’ll echo other posters comments that it climbs pretty well. It aint a light bike so it doesn’t fly uphill, but the long CS keep the arse end planted for traction. You need to buy plenty of brake pads though cos when it starts going down it flies.

    /\ Nah, not happening.

It looks just like a Large SolarisMax in Cosmic black with Fox Rythmn forks though.

Excuse crappy direct from phone pics (if they work – I’m not very clever).

Large Cosmic black. Fox Rythmn forks (changed to 120mm). Stan’s flow rims. More when I get a moment.

EDIT* – See, told you I’m not clever. Hang on, I’ll try something else.

Was all on board for a big dog, looked at the numbers then slept on it. Maybe its a bit too near to my LS SolarisMax for me to justify.

Bootzipper on the other hand, may be a lot nearer to the type of riding I’m doing these days.

Don’t really need another bike but I always get sucked in on this forum.
