Chronicles are l, I think, the perfect tyres for it

Thanks for that tuboflard. Both my Rooster tyres (Dirt Wizard F & Bonty Chupacabra R) are goosed and was wondering what to try next.

American High School teen shite is 100% off my radar but I bloody loved I’m Not OK With This. Highly recommend.

7 episodes around 25/30 mins each, so like a long film in duration. So hope they do a series 2.

I’m really sorry to hear this sad news. I didn’t know him personally but I really feel that I did because of how he came across on Granada Reports. A great guy who’ll be sadly missed. RIP mate.

Watching that video (hardtail party) has kinda made me realize that I didn’t give my SolarisMax time. I tried a bunch of different stems/bars to make it more familiar to how I’ve always ridden instead of adapting my riding style (not that I have much) to get the best out of the bike – as the vid suggests.

£61 doesn’t sound right to me unless it’s a litre bottle

The last bottle I got was ~£45 so £37 is still a good price

Yes, you’re quite right. I’m talking b*ll*cks. Its actually a saving of £12.34. Dunno where £24 came from (apart from they are some of the numbers) :-)

I’ll give one a try. Was doing some of the afforementioned swearing a couple of weekends ago when my lads tyre just didn’t want to play. I’m just not as hard as some of the real men on here.

Ordered. Cheers for the heads up.

The new steel models were originally due in Spring of 2019 to tie in with the new Pegasus & titanium models.

I’m sure that there was another thread where someone mentioned that they were on hold due to tooling costs (and CV-19 won’t have helped either).

Sam’s always been great at responding to emails (so perhaps drop him a line) but not so much at updating the website; we’ve stayed tuned for about 18 months I think.

I saw the titanium frames on the website (too spendy for me) along with the ‘new steel models – stay tuned’ mention, but didn’t know how long ago that was written.

    I’m guessing Gil?

I can add no solution to the question, but I must say the old blue Swifts do look classy next to some of the hideous power ranger style bikes on the market these days.

Hmm. Rode Ti Bel Airs always and was convinced I had a Bel Air shaped arse. Moved on to the mk2 and love it just as much.

I have an unused BNIB Brand X Ascend 11 external route dropper that I bought for a bike and never used if you want to go that route and save yourself a few squids.

    27.2mm, 105mm, 390mm.

Had to have a look to see what you were on about – there’s a couple on there.

Scrambler in 29er set up. Should be able to get a 29×2.4 in the back ok? 2.6 pushing it?

Got a large orange one with slot dropouts doing nothing if you’re interested. In pretty decent nick too has its hardly done anything.

If British Rail think I’m going to give them fifty pounds they can jolly well go out and become a prostitute. Which is what they virtually are anyway. Right commuters?

This looks fun – surely it can’t be as bad as season 2?

    Jesse from BB too!

It does look tempting, but god, series one became a bit of a chore (especially sitting through the monotonous opening credits), and S2, didn’t stand a chance with me. I just don’t know if I’m ready for any more yet.

Are they straight bars? I ask as I suffered similar discomfort which disappeared when I tried some bars with some back sweep.Think they were Salsa Bend.

EDIT. Yep, 23 degree bend. Got them from here https://slam69.co.uk/salsa-bend-deluxe-bars-71465-p.asp

I like a gentle ride in the hills & quiet countryside on my road bike as a de-stress every now & again. Sometimes its just nice to spin the pedals and not spend half an hour washing sh1t off your gear. I don’t use it that much, but I’m glad to have a road bike.

Always wore lycra on mountain bikes, cos the whole gang of us always have, so no issues there for me.

1 – I’ve been spoilt by integrated headsets! I’d forgotten what a hassle fitting 1 1/8 headsets are. I’ll be blowed if I can find my old headset press anywhere, so did it the old way with some wood and a girt big g-clamp. Works, but a tedious job!
2 – the paint’s nice and thick. Too thick in fact, so the dropouts won’t quite fit on. Seems a pity to have to sand/file paint off a new frame. But seems I’ll have to 🙁
3 – took out the ebb to check it was greased, and the BB was full of swarf. Guess it had come out if the seat or down tube. Not too impressed with that really. As if I hadn’t pulled the ebb out it would have been rotating on metal filings when I adjusted it.

I didn’t encounter any of the above, though I confess my bike shop popped the headset in for me (after removing from my old frame). But now all that guff is out of the way, you can just enjoy this wonderful bike.

Watched the first 4 episodes (S1) last night. I realised then that Id watched the tramp ep before.

First episode (Sardines) is mildly amusing.
Second episode (A Quiet Night In) is absolute slapstick brilliance.

Agree. Like a modern day Laurel & Hardy sketch but menacing & darker.

Ive just found them on CRC.

    614g Light, 671g Tough.

I love to save weight but on a rigid, I think Id need the tough for peace of mind.

Yeah, I’m aware I wont die on a 35, but as you say, 40 is the sweet spot. I like to run the pressure quite low (like 11 psi). I think Stans do a wider Major, but Ive never seen one for sale??

Hadn’t heard of a Scraper yourguitarhero, so Ill check that out right now.

No it isn’t (he answers his own question), because if you look closely you’ll see it’s only a 29×2.3. Doh!
