    I’m seeing £39??

    **EDIT**

Scrap that, £39 is the Max.

Good PSA though. I have a mate who’ll be interested.

    Cheers

Should work not be paying for it then?

    They should, but they wont.

They provided us with a tat phone years ago (can’t even remember what it was), but upgrading is my choice. I get free use out of work (within reason), so there’s no monthly costs to me – and if I leave, I hand back their old tat phone.

I notice the enterprise has gone up £6 to £275 in the last hour.

Out of interest, I got mine from ID Mobile at Carphone Warehouse.
£400 over 2 years, including a huge amount of data and unlimited calls and texts.
Basically, I’m paying monthly for the phone and the plan is thrown in for free. Ludicrous deal.

    Cheers Rusty,

Don’t need a sim package as I’m basically swapping my works sim (awful dated phone) into my own purchased phone.

Sorry, was at work earlier (and so distracted), and my phone switches to the Amazon app (so couldn’t get the links).

Here on my home pc now so, links….

    £269

    and..

    £287

Like I say, colour & £18 difference, but the cheaper black one is the enterprise. I’m wondering if the ‘business’ one will be less home user orientated.

Btw, the colour doesn’t worry me, I’m happy with black, it’s just the ‘Enterprse’ part of the slightly cheaper one that leaves me wondering if it may be less user friendly.

My company have been not great to work for, their health and safety attitude is pretty poor, and management expect a lot from their staff but give very little both in trainings and support.

    You work for G4S?

Let us know how you get on.

    Thanks for the words/tips folks.

Blimey I’m so out of touch with tech.

Only last week I moved from a Nokia 7.1 to a Nokia xr20, for the same reasons as you. I’m impressed, and the Nokia’s do tend to be a bit stronger than anything else I’ve had

    Thanks @stu170

I’ve just googled that. Looks a good durable phone (a feature I think I’d need), but £307. OUCH!

Not Netflix (but that doesnt seem to be an issue with this thread), but last night watched, and really enjoyed My Son on A-Prime.

James McAvoy on form & wonderful scenery too.

the only difference is that with Ozark every character is an unlikable **** that you couldn’t care less about and kind of hope they die.

I feel like that about the characters in The Servant.

Watched The Nest last night (Jude Law).

It was like a fly on the wall glimpse into the world of a successful/unsuccessful messed up family.

    Strangely watchable.

I don’t get all the hoods on biking jackets – it’s just useless bulk nearly all the time. (Maybe because I’m tall I’ve never found one that works either under or over a helmet either).

Rab borealis tour. Very lightweight windproof only. No hood. Recent purchase but liking it lots for winter riding in the dry.

Just a cheery thanks to @b33k34 for opening my world up to the Rab Borealis Tour.

On the back of his (or her) words (and with the option to return) I ordered one from Facewest and it is indeed an unbelievably wonderful jacket. Light, comfortable and incredibly windproof. Just come back from a half hour walk in the freEeEeEezing wind and my top half remained at room temperature. Great bit of kit that I will probably never take off.

    Cheers

A further twist. More fool me, I know, but I tried to cancel the one I ordered for £185 direct from Garmin after I found the Millets/Topcashback deal for £171.
Of course, I can’t cancel now, the transaction is too far gone and I’ll just have to return it once it arrives.

Seems like a lot of hassle to save £14

I ordered on Xmas day and paid on my credit card via PayPal with the payment taken straight away and order is still processing with no cancellation email received yet. Odds on getting anything from Garmin seem slim at the moment.

Same for me and the only communication I’ve had from Garmin is the Cancellation email, my order status still shows “order recieved”. I am sitting here waiting for a response from Jack…

    Yep, same.

My PayPal hasn’t been refunded. I did wonder that if enough people opened a dispute in line with PayPal terms how much of a problem it would cause

So those of us that chose to use paypal are the ones that have been out of pocket for 2 weeks (and counting)

Nearly, but change ‘took £96 out of your account’ to ‘pre-authorised £96 from your account’

No money actually ever left my account, only a pending payment on the 25th for a week, and again today for a couple of hours.

    Ahh, gotcha, cheers.

Just so I’m understanding this correctly….

Some of you paid Garmin (let’s say) £96 on christmas day for a solar instinct.

Yesterday, you got the email to announce they’d dropped a bollock and have cancelled your order.

Today, Garmin took another £96 out of your account?

    Is that right?

I ask, cos I paid by paypal and I got the cancelled email last night, but the £96 still hasn’t been refunded to my paypal account. BUT I havent been charged again.

They realise that make a bad call and have taken a guilt trip, deciding at the last minute to honour the orders.

    Probably.

10 of which would have been a lot of people’s Xmas shutdown.

You think a company with 4 billion turnover will have NO executives or management on call over Christmas? 🙂

Perhaps they couldn’t get a decent phone signal from their yatchs?

Right. I’ve enjoyed experiencing the highs & lows of this shit show for the last dozen or so days with you guys, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s a wrap!

    Massive thanks to @5lab

    Hi Garmin,

Having read most of the hammering that is ongoing over on the Trustpilot site, it seems I am not the only disgruntled customer with a cancelled Garmin order.

I would just like to know why some people got their orders at the Christmas discount price, but not others?

Surely the ‘technical error that affected the listed prices on the Garmin.com site for December 25th and 26th 2021’ should affect all orders, and not just a few that were cherry picked?

    That just isn’t fair.

I didn’t receive a response to my previous email at this address, so I don’t hold out much hope with this one.

    Happy New Year

Surprisingly, just had the same email. Oh well.

Was thinking about ordering one later this year anyway so the 20% voucher is tempting.

    25% as it turns out.

Topcashback on Millets takes them down to £165 (I think).

Topcashback. How does that work then? What’s the catch?

I’m surprised at how disgruntled I feel. It will be a while before I buy anything from Garmin methinks. (I am aware of how petty this might be).

    Strangely, I feel the same.

First world consumerism anxiety I reckon.
