Wow, that’s a very long inside leg you have :)

Are your bars the Salsa Bend ones? I tried those – and liked them – but the Moto’s are the dogs, and help a tall rider’s riding position (I am 6’3″) and although I managed (lay back seat post, 90 stem with Moto’s), the bike really was too small

Patagonia now say their merino bases are no longer 100% merino as durability was an issue, so they now mix them with polyester

I’m after a merino base layer

lotto – I haven’t got one, but would like to try one :)

JJ had a few which sold out pretty quick, and a couple of the guys on mtbr have grabbed a few (one place was in Italy IIRC!)

Jeff seems to prefer these on the PLUS. I swapped back to summer rubber for the weekend’s riding (Chronicle front and Chuppa rear) which are lighter and bigger volume – I liked that better so am keen to try the Crux

My riding is woods and XC, all pretty smooth but can get well muddy

I am running 3″ on my JJ plus and can like them

Want to try the extra quarters

Make the switch to wider rims

    I run + 29 & B on 2 bikes (~40mm int )

I have an ‘old’ (2012) high end FS – it has 2.3 (29) tyres. They look so small and there’s no way I would them on a small rim (Stans Flow – obsolete now)

    Go +

    Ridiculously different

This is quite a nice riding bike :)

It feels so small now after initially feeling big

    I take it that’s a no

    Ok, who wants one?

    My mate does – NN’s 3″ f 2.8 rear

But there again his commute is only 2 miles each way ;)

Nick – yours sounds like the voice of sense to me

I’ve got a much newer pair somewhere which I’ll try on tonight’s ride

Some of the time – and difficult to reproduce

The pedal tension I have un-wound all the way (which does make me question if this a cause)

    Pedals and cleats clean

    Not very wide are they?

The Jones bars just aren’t wide enough

I’ve been running 800mm Stooge Moto’s and there’s no going back to narrow bars now :)

I would have gone for blue, but that’s not an option

The green is nice and I think I prefer it now. So much better than on the online pics on Jeff’s site etc

Yeah, just re-looked at your pic and you’ve got a fair rise on your stem

I might just carry on for a bit with my 800 wide Stooge risers then. Front did feel high to start with on the first tride last night, but forgot it until today’s quick spin round

What bars you running on yours ton?

I’m going to try some lower ones (never thought I would want to lower the front of any bike)

I’d be interested in hearing from anyone who’s ridden a Stache and a Jones Plus, and how they compare.

    That’s a tough request

However, I can let you know after (hopefully if I can the Plus built up in time) tonight

I think the Crud catcher is your (our) best best

Jeff seems to like them. I ran one all last mud season and was happy in that it kept almost all of it out of my face/eyes which I thought was the best I could expect

I see – so the 23 Plus is really quite a small frame (equivalent to another size or so down in a 29 version)

Does the 23 also have CS’s at 19″ then?

Wouldn’t mind seeing a pic of that bike if so

Has that been photoshopped? Looks like a kids bike!

lol I agree, it does look a little odd – the front wheel is a 29+ (B+ rear)

    bonesetter

Apologies, I can see how that was misleading

    Appreciate your input

£195 is massively different to £431

The Stache seems to ‘come up small’

I’m 6’3″ and was on the fence to what size to go for. I usually go smaller as most 29er’s I have experienced can ride like a gate when they get big

Went 21.5 in the end and so glad I did

I looked at the link above

Hob Nob – that’s quite amazing, but hardly surprising

Sixth Element make more sense as at ~450 for complete wheel compared to 430 for the rim only from LB

Blimey, are they worth 3 times the price of a say a scraper?
