Thanks STATO, I’ve pretty much got all that. The included ‘manual’ is very basic and does not include that sort of info, nor does Exposure’s website

I’m just wondering how much manual control you have when in Reflex mode

If I’m on a short rode section in Reflex, I would want to turn it down to low for example

My Maxx has just arrived :)

It’s bigger (and a little heavier) than I expected, with a nice solid well made feel to it

Shining it up the garden it’s very bright. I’m presuming this is manual high mode which is 2300 lumens, and on the trail in reflex mode it will be brighter, going up to max (3200)?

I have a question – if running on either of the first 3 ‘A’ (Reflex) modes, can the light be manually turned down to a low setting?

Think back to when high intensity discharge lights were the think, then along came some quite dim LED lights with remote battery packs….

I believe the MaxxD Mk9 is about as far as the combined tech of ‘all in one’ units against weight/size can go now.

    Agreed

I remember the HID lights. Quite amusing looking back. LED’s have certainly brought these current lights to their zenith, and Exposure seem top of their game

^ I like the sound of that, it sounds organic, and especially as I have never done it before :)

My current is 2.2K bar, 1K lid which is good for full on

I wouldn’t want anything less on the lid

In fact, reason for change is I am going faster with older eyes so running out of light

The Axis seems much more suited, for me, to the MaxxD

1.5 hours on high gives me a slight shake though. Can see me patting my head and tapping the bar at every breather

take the Maxx D for example, 2350 lumums and boosts to 3200 in reflex mode. So does that mean in normal operation with reflex off, selecting high/medium/low yourself, it will only go to 2350 in High?[/QUOTE]

    yes

That seems weird – nearly one thousand lumens amiss

njee – yeah, this seems the hive’s consensus on searching

Isn’t it a case though of the JS/Diablo’s spot only working when you need it – ie when turning your head/bends etc?

I was looking on Evans. Seemed a few ‘Joysticks’ there with varying prices and options as you say

I think I’m getting confused here – looking there seemed to be a few different models of the Joystick – am I just seeing things?

Hmm… the 6 Pack looks pretty big – can like

I’ve gone for the Maxx Stu

My Trotie has done well for a coming up to 7 year old light

Oh, the 6 pack’s on clearance too

Charlie says: go big of go home. This packs a shed load of light, and is recognised as the ultimate light. I use this light, not only for the whopping lumins and clever “gets brighter as you get radder” feature, but also its the massive battery life. I dont need to plan ahead, rush home, cram a charge in before a ride… it lasts many many rides with a single charge

    I get where you’re coming from Trimix – there’s always a balance

Where do you get 35 from?

The protective scar tissue build-up around my knees means I don’t need to wear pads, and prefer longer for coverage of said scars

    Still looking…

The Endura 360’s I ran last winter were ok’ish but thin, no features and no belt loops so kept sliding down

The Agent’s do look a tad short. This pic would have them even further up when riding

Ah well, the Agent’s have been discontinued and no-where has stock

How do the Agent’s come up size wise?

    bonesetter

    I’m 6’3″ but long body

It’s knee coverage I’m after. If they do that, and don’t groat, job done

Style it up you say :)

Wish I had done the trimming and filing outside though – that plastic dust is murder :)

    Ah, will do those

I was thinking any less on the front might allow face splatter (Course most comes up from the rear, but….)

Haven’t tried pedaling it to check for feet clearance

Sunday’s mud faced splatter forced my hand so fixed up a front Crudder today

Also fitted a 3″ Dirt Wizard which clears fine

Looks like it should work fine

TBF, the Crudder on the DT I have been using seems to work fine, there’s just not really enough room for a 3″ tyre with the front Crud ala Jameso

Jameso – what’s the max width tyre you’ve ran under the Crud?

I’ve just ‘placed’ a Crudder and the sides and front are close to a Chronicle

Wondering if trimming the guard will reduce its strength too much?

+1 for the Pro Gold – after trying all the lubes I settled on this. Never collects crud and really does self clean

When fitting a new chain I use the Park with white spirit and then the ProGold. Water and a brush gets it back to clean again

The 800 wide Moto’s will transform the ride

As for stem, 50 should see you right. That’s what my mate runs on his, at 5’11”

Plus a lay back for more weight back. Purrfickt

    Both work well

    I prefer B+

An interesting fun combo was B+ (Trailblazer) rear and a Chronicle front
