    You going for one Martinh?

I emailed Banshee and they replied saying:-

You are correct and its something we call the “shock block”. It makes a huge difference to soften the feel of the aluminum but you wont give up the lateral rigidity of the frame. Its super stiff and that will allow the power to the pedals.
I will be honest though my friend Lance Canfield did say it was bloody harsh, but he’s used to his own plush DH bikes and has had a few back surgeries. Others who have ridden the bike had no complaints and to be honest with those big fat wheels I found it less harsh then the Scirocco I used to ride which the Paradox is based off of but it was a 26”

Thaey do seem a very down to earth company, and I really like their approach to their 26″ & 29r HT’s. the geo is exactly whatb I’m after.

I suppose it’s the square alu rear triangle look of it and a seeming unforgiving ride, which gives me hesitation

I haven’t used them for wheels but got some Stan’s sealant which was cheapest anywhere.

Their web site is very good and is their efficient dispatch, so they get my heads up there

Yes, you must be a big fecker to make a 21″ look right (which it does)

The big wheels are blessing for us BF’ers. I remember what I looked like perched on top a 26″ bike

Terrain dependant of course, but how about 1×9 with either a 30t or 32t

    Is this for the Chumba?

The price was certainly right – pretty much cheaper than anywhere else. Went with them from a recommendation from another forum user and they were saying they had stock of this fork

Turns out they did not have stock, but took my money anyway – and yes via credit card

I ordered a discontinued item which they charged me for (£471 Reba fork)

Charged me Wednesday last, couple of emails later and still not had a refund.

CRC charge on dispatch – much better idea and saves alot of anguish

Although over your budget, but what about Niner HT’s? What MTB mag loves the SIR9 to death. Sublime 853 ride

The only thing I’ve picked up about tubesets such as Life and Spirit is as they are ultra thin walled, the tubing can be vulnerable to denting from mis handling or stones

Taken from your link above (Strong Frames)

The extreme strength of this alloy allows Columbus to draw the tubes to thinner specifications than ever before, down to 0.38mm!…This tubing is marginally heavier than aluminum while still possessing the strength and ride qualities of steel.

    What’s the magical part?

(We all want a bit of magic in our frames don’t we? )

    Well, developments!

Decided to go full Columbus Life. Going to check if TT can be bent easily otherwise we’ll go 631 for that. Hoping for a 4lb frame, stronger (and alot lighter) than the 853 with big strong tubes too

    Chain stays 17″ 8O

 No – not in that thin a gauge tube – TT will need to be different, unless Mark Reilly can give the standover with a straight tube

I still think you ought to build it for me and save me all this grief
