Ah, the Trance X. I liked the Trance 26″ I owned. My ‘first proper MTB’ Maestro suspension worked very well… however the CS’s on the Giant are ~1″ longer than the Whyte’s

Living on the South Coast is rude not to nip over to France. Getting to Normany/Brittainy is as easy as anywhere (fast-cat ferry or chunnel) else and probably one of the best easy Frnce cycling options. Brittany’s a bit more hilly than Normandy maybe and if your French is lacking the better option. bit like Salcombe Devon but without the Hooray Henry’s 🙂

The Nobby Nic is a pretty impressive all-rounder tire that transitions from gravel, to dirt, to pavement, etc… quite easily. I really rate it, in the 29er format which I have been using it.

Have just had delivery of HD which I will fit up soon, so can’t compare just now

Haven’t seen the Beaver till now – looks impressive from all the positive feedback. Sorta reminds me of a Fire XC Pro but with a more spaced out pattern, and looks like the Maxis would roll better too.

Seems a tiny bit narrow though. I usually like a bit more width, for cush mainly. You been happy with it?
