Pretty sure they’re 90’s (OE fit Fat Boy)

Haven’t seen a Nate, but are bigger than the Ground Control that came off

Fitted a Bud up front today. Can see whay Surly named it the one half of Laurel & Hardy… they are on the limit of a joke

    The knobs are seriously big

    Yes scot, it’s a FB

Bud & Lou will fit I believe. These will be an improvement in the mud?

Yes, the skite decription (not heard that before, but makes sense on a certain level) is pretty much what I experienced on Saturday’s ride – sudden dramatic slides, which of course is not good

Nates are OK at mud duty then?

You need to spend £150 to get the right spec (that works)

    That’s an expensive chain cleaner

    Very Italian lol

Max – yeah, when I finally gave up for good with Formula I went to the Saints.

I wanted POWER and OMG have they got it!

I think there’s more power in them than my classic Mini brakes had 🙂 Immense. Only thing they are big, rather ugly (esp the lever end) and heavy. I should sell them as they only saw a few rides and sit in the shed now

    XT/SLX FTW

Max – are those four pot Saints?

    I was a Formula Fan

They look cool, got all the right top reviews…

    I’ve owned Oro’s, One’s, Bianco’s, Mega’s

Almost all of them suffered a whole heap of issues. I sent some back for warranty replacement, others I had to get bigger rotors (200/180) to feel as if they were capable of hauling me up

And, yes, the squeel – oh my lord the howl. The rest of the group were always on at me, walkers would get scared to death…

I tried ALL MANNER of stuff to get rid of it – sanding, isoprol alcohol, pads, eamiling Formula loads of times (a chap in the US was very friendly), strasightening out discs, different wheels, torquing spokes, changing the forks, changing the frame, losing weight… all failed 🙂

In the end I went Shimano and have been a very happy braker since

The XT’s on my current ride are completely faultless

A mate brought SLX’s and has been very happy too

Zero squeal, loads of performance. Quality

Give your Formula’s away, buy XT – it will pay you dividends in short time 🙂

After I followed Ton up the Jack Bridge climb past mmmbop to the Nudie

Ha ha! No personal reflection on ton – but Brant using him as a biking biomechanical model for bike design is very amusing indeed

It’s 2 yrs old now. Ordered new bearing set from RM early on but haven’t needed it yet

They do get through them though I believe, if used throughout the dirty season (which mine hasn’t)

    I’ve an Element 970

    It’s the dog’s – best frame I’ve ever seen

Doesn’t ride too badly either 🙂

Beaver is decent performer. I ran one rear for a while in the mud and performed better than I expected, hooking up well, and rolling well too

Very light which is a bonus

Running Minion 2.5 front on a rigid (Stooge) and that is a pretty amazing tyre

Would imagine the Beaver complimenting the Maxxis fairly well

2.4 Racing Ralph buzzed the seat stay – changed to a Fire XC Pro (decent performer in 29er flavour – mediocre in small wheel format)

There’s very little mud clearance even with this tyre – last ride the BB area was well stacked with trail debris

^^ Brilliant shot – and very much a bike I’m interested in

Have you (super fussy bugger) a shot without the spiky tree and the bike more ‘in’ the roots?

Hey thanks Bumper – I’m liking the look of those

They look very much like Salsa Bend’s (which I run) but with more rise which is what I’m after

(wondering should I go for the carbon??)

What bars have you got on there bumper?
    Looking good btw
They’re on one og carbon bars. Took them off my 29er.

They’re great, very comfy and wider, lighter than Mary bars.

Cool – have you a shot showing the bars better, cheers

    These are the boys….

They used to call themselves Lab Gear

Make bespoke merino cycling kit – basically when ordering, you’re ordering a fit for you

I am 6’4″ with a super long body so tops always rode up when riding and ended up with lower back exposed 🙁

During the order process you specify exactly what you want. In the case of a longer length, it’s extra sauce or something like

I wear nothing else and need another

Cycling tshirts, cycling art, cycling posters and more. Welcome to ELEVEN vélo

Clent does drain pretty well on the upper half (very similar to Malverns) and is dry again after a day of no rain, but to get a decent ride you need to descend into the dirty depths of the lower slopes, and indeed cross to Wychbury
