That’s great info, thanks very much

I’ll compare with how the Shimano’s fit for ordering then

Very sorry to hear about the clash

^ They look very good indeed, but a little much for summer, no?

Thanks Jason – this sounds good. I’ve been looking at a few and they all have little to none in the way of stopping water coming through – if you have to put your foot into a puddle etc you’ve got a wet foot

Just had a pair of Shimano M220’s turn up and there is NOTHING whatsover between the cleat slots and the insole!

Great – so, another question while you’re here – how are they on sizing? Do you need to go up, stay at your usual size??

And finally – where did you get yours from? I’m struggling to find somewhere who carried stock of my size (47/8)

    Cheers

Oh, I’m on about when down the pub, or say pushing your bike up the trail and not being totally out the depth

^ isn’t being able to walk in your mtb shoe a bonus though, or indeed a need when you’re down the pub?

I suppose £150 is OK if they are going to last a fair few years

Very impressed with my Specialized rimes

    Blimey – £140 ?!

What’s the arrangement with the spd plate? Is it pretty much against the foot as with the Shimano’s?

They put gypsum in beer water don’t they – any connection with your moniker?

The wider front rim made a appreciable difference for me too (with Chronicle)

Any other suggestions for a rear?

It’ll be on for a while, so fingers crossed dry and fast

    Any suggestions

One ‘ride’ is usually all of a legover conversion you need to for a Stooge :)

And you’ve got lots of enjoyment to come on that bike from ride number 2 on… :)

Well, I was actually asking spectabilis, and these forums are for members to share info and I would like to get as much info as possible to make the best choice as it’s my money. No need to get so defensive Clink

I think Clink was pointing out the obvious, to your obvious insecurity :)

Good idea cheeze (well, albeit an obvious one – and one which which would almost undoubtedly get supported)

    Or why not invite ‘sponsors’?

Ah, i owned a Elise S1 tuned to 165BHP – great on track, but underpowered and out classed on road

The Swift is perfectly suited to crappy roads and has enough power

I think the 123 BHP of the Swift is perfectly matched. It’s not about big power with this car, it’s the lightweght and handling

I have a 330BHP Type R Impreza and have owned many high powered Subaru’s

    This Swift is purity compared

The Focus is a heavy lump in comparison

    LOL – you’re missing out

I’ve had a Kona Raijin for 2 years deffo not a rebadged Lynskey ! Check out the review in Dirt Rag most deffo a Kona , slacker H/A shorter chain stays etc etc

Thanks old smelly. Yes, the Raijin is a class number. You would be hard done to beat it in any regard, especially when it comes to the ride

I liked it best with a 120 up front

What has been happening is all the mud and stuff has been beading on the boot, so very much a water repellent coating on there (wax/Scotchgaurd)

Get home and wash bike then run hose and brush over them and they’re good as new with a brief dry (the hose water doesn’t penetrate)

They ‘look’ heavy and cumbersome, but in fact are snug, light feeling when on,and easy to walk in – easier than the Shimano’s

They are adjustable. I ned to tighten them up

This was the FIRST ride remember

I need to adjust the cleats too so the shoe isn’t set-up yet
