So where can the DW be bought from, and for that matter the Bombolino?

Well mediums have arrived and fit – very well I have to say around my ~33″ waist

The 2 front press stud fasteners are virm and the length is just the right amount past the knee

    So far so good

^ you wash them after every ride??

Mark – I tried bibs once – the way I was speaking with them on I should have been called Nigella 8O

(Very long body – use your imagination)

I’ve got Lycra shorts which cover my knees (with built in knee warming soft comfy stuff), but if you get wet mud on those, they are then wet and therefore cold, especially with added windchill when JRA etc. The overshorts are a considerable barrier to this

Aren’t they meant as an overshort anyway so do come up big?

Thanks all, I think I’ll go medium

I thought CTBM was selling the 27.5 x3″

Now I can’t find them on sale anywhere…??

While you’re on Graham, we need a 3/4 version – some of us are bashfull when exposing knees

Seriously though (although the above has something), knees need keeping warm in the winter, and while tights etc help, the crud of mud needs keeping off by the shorts

He he – yeah that’s everything I was thinking, and yes I’ve read the owner saying all will be better now, but seems as these are a non starter

Jonestown – mine was tongue in cheek ;)

I’ll see how the weather looks over the coming week and then decide

You never know, winter may finally arrive

    I got a NN 3″ £50

    Stooge rocks on B+

Much better in fact than 29

    What’s the alternative?

Present conditions are as bad as they get mud wise. The Vee Fatty front and NN 3″ rear both struggled today

Mind you, cold (= dry) snap forecasted, and Spring is round the corner (!)

For the money they really are good, even if they are lardy

There’s just nothing around for that money at the mo

I don’t think it will work on a Stooge though?

£70 is a bit steep though

Just measure the BB height on the B+ Stache at 11 3/4″ which is 13mm lower than OE 29+

No negatives seen yet, just positives :)

DC – No wonky TT/ST brace on mine

Also, I like a rotated weight off the bars on my rigids, ala Jones, Stooge etc style, so when sitting/riding on the flat there’s hardly any weight through your arms. This makes for a very comfortable ride as well being able to lift the front very easily

Ride it off the back wheel BMX stylee :) which I have to say with CS at 16″ is very entertaining

I see your enthusiasm, and I really dont know (or rather its too late during christmas) how to reply to your many points

What I will say is for me the B+ is just a better (much more fun) platform. Feels like your on a big BMX on the trail. I’d say try it and see :)

So, here it is – Stache (size XL) with B+

Vee Fatty 3.25 front, Nobby Nic 3 rear

    Chainstays at 16″

    Stache vs Stooge

    B+

I’m underwhelmed with my Stache 5. Capable, but not much fun, and ponderous at slow speed

However, Stooge on B+ is where it’s at for me, and about to convert the Stache to B+ too

Took mine for a ride today and put in the pool by me.

    It floated

went down to a couple of inches off the BB and just touching the rear mech

I don’t think he does either

Fat Grinz are a bit like single speed grinz.

The type when you’re using every body muscle, even using your eyelash muscles (as I’ve seen Stu doing) to get up a climb

I’ve had two from DHL recently – both from USA which arrived in 3 days

Another presently winging its way from Oz (3 days too they have said)

And the reason you’re going for shorter is pedal strikes?

Have you measured CS to see what length you’ve achieved?

BTW – looks like the Nobby Nic 2.8 is a 2.6

    bonesetter

Was the CS adjustment easy enough?

I’ve looked and the drop out slider spacers look a bit weird

All the way in must be at about 16″ dead?

^ Good to hear. Having tried both, I’m rather sold too on the B+ rather than the 29 plus

Can I ask what tyre combo have you gone for?

    Thanks sss
