Remember the ‘weight rotated back’ Stooge arrangement, so little to none front/arm (wrist) loading

    Keep with your +

Those 29 xc’s are so last decade

Went for a ride on a 3″ Bridger yesterday and was happy with the rolling speed which was substantially faster than the Nobby Nic it replaced

I did notice it hadn’t got the up hill traction of the NN, but a little more careful pedaling and all was good

    RR is quite light, no?

I run mine with a Trailblazer 2.8 rear and Chronicle front – a very good combo

    They’d weigh a tonne

The Stooge doesn’t weigh a ton

Nice looking rigid, but what’s that metal thing above the chainring?

Those are so last decade ;)

    Can always ditch that

    A mate’s after a rigid B+ and doesn’t want a Stooge because I have one

    Proving hard to find something

It can’t stack up better than say a Stooge for the money though? No?

Plus, that seat tube looks steep to me

Agreed on the Alu fork/steel frame combo. Why not just go steel (or indeed alu) for both, but alu fork on steel frame seems odd?

Thanks. I have a impro headset ‘press’ (threaded bar and washers). Will that be enough?

Nice feedback dalhalvaig, always good to hear folk enjoying riding, and on the Stooge. I’m sure it makes Mr Stooge’s day too

Let us know how it goes with the Chronicle. I think I’ll leave mine on for the summer

Have you got the Moto bars?

    bonesetter

Nice looking chainring. Only comes as small as 32 by the looks (I like 30 on a 1x)

Those Moto’s are indeed sweet. I was sure I would cut mine down, but haven’t given it another thought. Mind you I think mine are prototypes and 780’s… but zero issues as yet (YMMV of course)

Complement the bike perfectly. I shortened the stem too which I felt it needed after the Moto addition

Let us know how you get on

Wow Cokie, that looks like a pearler. Loving that colour

So, that’s a Chuppa up front? How about the rear?

Moto bars are perfect for Stooge

And what’s that front chainring? I run the same cranks with a RF narrow/wide

Tried both and couldn’t get on with either (have them FS if interested)

Use Stooge Moto’s now – excellent

Since trying this mixed wheel size set-up and it immediately making me squeal, I haven’t felt like changing things…

Moto bars and a shorter stem nudged the fun a bit further :P

I don’t know who the Moto Bars are aimed at, but for me they just make the bike work well

I run a Chronicle and a 70mm stem (I’m 6’4″) and my weight is rotated up and back (tweaking the already rotated weight Stooge stance geometry) and control of the front is enhanced

I use my bike to have fun (don’t most of us) on the trails and the Moto’s have widened the grin

The Moto have become my favourite bars

    Left them uncut too

And it looks like they fit different bikes than the Stooge amazingly – looking good Cozz

This is what happened to my mate – just got his bike back from ‘service’ and a week later his drive train is toast

Chain stretched more than Fatima’s spandex

    bonesetter

    Fair enough

So the question which still remains slightly open is it cheaper to change the chain or let it go?

I like to run XT 10 speed with a narrow wide single up front. Sram 991 chain

It’s just if the type of person who wants all things taking care of and their bike sorted into top condition and then a week down the line the drive starts slipping/banging they’re going to be puzzled/miffed as they’ve spent their dosh having a full service

Surly it makes sense to change the chain early and save the chainring and cassette?

Can Jones’ steel truss be bought on its own?

That stem change isn’t going to fix your issue

As above, get weight off your bars. The centre of mass on the pedals is good advise

    Jones truss fork costs £1100

XACD one is a couple or three hundred and can be spec’d to anything you want
