so is that why everyone’s running low rise bars these days? I thought because it was mountain biking there’d be some kind of technological advantage to it

i wouldn’t dismantle them too much if i were you as all the bolts are made of soft aluminium and don’t like being messed with too much. If you follow this simple routine you should only have to do a periodic strip and seal maintain every few months (video HERE)

1 – clean them after every ride with a sponge and soapy water. i use car polish.
2 – don’t blast a hose at the seals because you’re just blasting the dirt into the fork.
    3 – dry them with a rag.
4 – use a bit of teflon dry lube to lubricate seal/stanchion interface
5 – pump the fork to lift the dirt out
6 – wipe off the excess.

That’s it. Fox recommend that you take the bike out with the seals lubricated as they work better wet.

every so often turn the bike upside-down for a bit to allow the oil inside to lubricate the foam rings underneath the seals.

    Job done.

I did when i was a lot younger it takes a while to heal and sleeping’s a PITA. I remember even when it was “healed” it still felt sketchy/sore for a while. Bad luck fella, plenty of rest and take it easy when you do get back on it.

it’s nice to trust your tyres, i’ve had some pretty bad ones (a tioga DH rear on the front was the worst!).

nevegals are supposed to be good, high rollers are good, kenda small block 8’s rule on hardpack. Maxxis tyres are all good, just gotta pick the right one. Maxxis crossmark are next on my list to try they got great reviews on mtbr and reportedly roll fast and have oodles of cornering grip. i can’t find one in a 2.3 though :(

As the burka isn’t a religious thing, we can’t be accused of stirring muslim hatred by banning it.

Are we sure that in today’s western society these women are actually forced to wear the burka? My personal view is that it’s a fashion statement. In these times where differences between Muslim and western societies are being made apparent, surely there are people who will migrate to either pole?

I swear by them. Had the same set on my heckler for 2 years and they were on my hardtail before that and they just keep on going. There’s a trick you can use to stop the pads wearing out too quickly in muddy conditions which only the new taper-bore hydralics have, and that is to just back the pads on each side off a couple of turns to give you more mud clearance :)

In the end i went for the CRC deal – prelubed xt outers in 60cm lengths ( 4 needed) for £1-75 and an XT inner. A complete XT gear cable set for 9 quid!

I don’t mind LBS unless they feed me with some kind of bull thinking i don’t know any better. like that shock pumps are £30 (pedalsport). also, cycle gear told me that they add £10 onto the price of a bike if it’s an asian so that when they knock it off again they think they’re getting a good deal.

I am happy to see this discussion develop(bomberman’s insightful ‘contributions’ aside)

if you look at the title of the original post you’ll find that the discussion about wether or not this can be classed as voyeurism is relevant. The thread is about watching someone die. you said it’s voyeurism, i say it isn’t. what’s not to contribute? unless you think your opinions are more relevant than mine?

i said exciting, Not sexually exciting, although the word has strong sexual connotations. Voyeurism is defined as GRATIFICATION through observation. finding pleasure in watching a young woman die in this way is not right. it may be voyeurism for some, but certainly not for me.

    GO AND USE A DICTIONARY!

It does not class as voyeurism unless you find it exciting. lets just get that one straight.

    bomberman

MTT i think you are making the point that you found the video exciting in some way otherwise you wouldn’t have labelled it “voyeurism”

Half the thesaurus results you have quoted there are only vaguely connected to the word voyeurism, and are inaccurate. for example “transvestite” and “sadomasochism”.

sadly a lot of the news we see on television is sensored so as not to offend people. I agree that if people want the truth they should have the whole truth and not some watered down version of it that way people in this country could see just how lucky we actually are

I’m loving the small block 8’s at the moment theyre tenacious on anything dry and can handle light mud. If it’s soaking wet and muddy though i’d leave them at home and stick something on with taller knobs.

Yes well said Ian, morbid curiousity is a much better way of describing it

    bomberman

smee, where’s the pleasure in it? or maybe you got a little stiffy watching it

    bomberman

whats all this bullsh*t about voyeurism? what the hell has that got anything to do with this video whatsoever? It’s about whats going on in Iran. seriously smee and MTT you don’t have a *****ng clue

    from your quote, MTT:

it can be straightforwardly defined as the pleasurable, illicit observation of someone else’s intimate acts

What is pleasurable about watching blood spurting out of an innocent young girls face? sick f*cker.
