    Any update?

And may I venture an opinion, ditch Pocketmags. I’ve been on board since the start and there just seems to be problem after problem with them. More often than not I just wind up downloading the PDF format and reading it that way. I do miss the print copy though! Ah the good old days when there was a bit of money about!

Thank **** for that. Thought I was loosing it there and had imagined downloading last night. Was enjoying it and went to carry on reading just and no trace.

Pity about the hassles. Not been all that impressed with PocketMags. Lots of problems throughout. I wish now I had spent my money on the Premier account instead of rushing into a sub renewal with Pocketmags to.

Best of luck getting it sorted and hope you get back to honeymooning for the rest of weekend. Mind you heard there’s a storm a brewing. You might not make it into work tomorrow… Nudge nudge!

I volunteer at a bike recycling charity and the only carbon framed road bike I’ve seen through was pretty badly looked after. A lot of salt and grit had seized the seat post into the frame. Look after it, wash it show it some rlc and you should be fine but they can seize if left too long. As for mud gaurds, Crud Race Blades fit via a rubber strap around the seat stays and fork. No eyelets needed and they look almost full length. I’d use them.

Champion thanks for the views and info folks. Gone with the CRC XT versions. Bit cheeky used the £10 discount posted on the other thread, twice, by setting up a second account. 203 front and 180 rear. Just used to the big rotors as my older set have them so ample power available.

    Thanks for your input tho’!

For my tuppence worth, tell the you don’t to sell the van and let her sort it out. Or maybe you do then she could sort that instead. Few quid for her to spend some new bike stuff for you.

    +1 for what craigxxl said.

the initial outlay might be steep but worth it in the long run. I’ve had the oval bars with several different over several cars in the last 10 years and changing the fitting kit is so cheap and easy. Very versatile and robust, well worth the initial investment.

Thought the replies would raise a chuckle, you didn’t’t let me down. Yeah been using denture tablets and pop a plastic whisk in to hold it open for drying but it it just that little bit last night. Could’ve swore I felt the chewy bit slide down my throat drinking lat night. Boak!

I have kids of a similar age I think the wee fella did well sticking up for his sister but yeah bringing in a lesson about restraint and not going OTT is just common sense. The lesson sandwiched between praise so as not to emphasise any any one aspect too strongly.

I’ve got a wahoo case and four or five mounts I’d sell you for £40 if you want. Then any Ant+ compatible heart rate monitor would work. The case fits the iPhone 3, 4 & 4s. I changed phones so can’t use it now.

It works a treat with Endomondo, Strava and Garmin apps.

Unbelievable. Really, you have to ask?

If you don’t give it to the police and you live in Scotland you’re committing Theft by Finding. I don’t know the exact law for England and Wales but I would imagine it’s similar.

It’s morally and legally the right thing to do and anything else, on your head be it.

    athgrey – don’t think so but…

Wife’s off having a lie down so it’s time for a ride. Where’s the bike?

We had a Charnwood wood burner in a house in Barra. No trees on the island and no supply of timber so all we could burn was coal. Got through a fair bit of coal and burnt out a set of window seals every winter but no problems otherwise. Quite miss toasting my feet in front of it actually.

Looks like you still have subscribe through the app to be able to read the mag through it.
There was a trial announced on the website a couple of months ago where they linked the app to the digital login for 100 subscribers, but I haven’t heard anything more.

An RF feed to the new TV would work best. Alothough Component or RGB may give a higher res picture (would you really benefit on a 15″ screen)if you take a cable off the back of the sky box to your new tv you will get Freeveiw digital signal to it aswell, assuming you have an aerial plugged into the ky box. Also you can use a “Magic Eye” to change the sky box channels from your ne TV location. It reads the remote input, converts it to a signal that it feed into the sky box through the RF 2 connection.

The only change that might be needed if to cange the RF output of the sky box if there is interference but that easy enough.

On a 3k bike I’d expect perfection. I bought a carbon roadie frame from a chinese seller on ebay recently for £200.00 and it was in great condition when I opened the box. Top cosmetic carbon coat has visible joins but they are very well laid up, symetrical etc., but no filler or blemishes at all in the paint.

Subaru Forrester Diesel. My dad has mobility issues and loves his v-plate skooby as it’s the perfect height for him to swivel round and stand straight up from the seat. He hates the poor fuel economy of the old 2lt boxer engine and having looked at most of the above suggestions, he takes soooooo long to put his hand on his wallet and buy anything bigger than a packet of butteries, he’s settled on the new Subaru Forrester because…..Ta dah – he can swivel round and stand up straight from the seat. Dad’s eh?

Make sure you’ve nothing left you want off the hard drive, re-install an OS and stick in the garage/shed, preferably connected to a set of speakers or Aux in of an old stereo. Makes a great Juke box for on Demand TV, Radio, Music off your main machine etc.etc.

Turbo training is almost bareable in my garage nowadays.

I’ve been a fan of Vredstein tyres for a while now. Sport Trac 2 then 3 and lately the Ultrac Cento all of the same size your looking for. Bought 2 x Ultrac Cento from MyTyres recently for about £61 each but then you need to find a friendly (or cheap) tyre fitter so add about £12-£15 per tyre.

There is also a “Fitted” price option available on MyTyres and you can pick a tyre fitter local to yourself but I haven’t tried that option yet. I’m sure I’m saving a few quid per corner.

Well I’m with lazlo53. I haven’t got my copy either and it’s ridiculous that your small magazine should be blame the awsome might of the ever efficient Royal Mail. Travesty indead… Can I have a beer with Chipps now to?

Editing what I here alot a work “Don’t let the effers get you down.” Cracking mag, inspired me to get off my not insignificantly sized back end and ride. Cheers and keep them coming.

PS You can access the PDF version very easily. Not as handy in the bog admittedly but it’s there for the taking.

I’ve only scanned the thread to see the number of naysayers on here doubting the power of the band and I’d just want to add I BELEIVE!

Magnets are great things, I spent a not inconsiderable amount of money on a magnet that fits around the fuel line in my car aligning the diesel molecules as they pass and that gives my car more power and balance too ;o)

I’m with dave_aber, it a mass damper to counteract vibrations from the engine. Not critical but would be best being re-attached when the weather’s better.

I just have winter tyres on the front of my Passat and I’m managing through the snow in North East Scotland without much fuss. When the car does slide (other than when I’m yanking the handbrake) it’s the rear that goes but it’s easy enough to catch and correct and can be avoided if I would just stop chucking the car into the corner… Sometimes it just has to be done 😉

I have fitted Mud and Snow tyres all round on the Fiesta and it is great for romping through the snow. It’s much different to drive as it’s much lighter than the Passat but it has convinced me so much of the benefits of winter tyres on the rear that I’ll be looking to invest in a couple more wheels and winter tyres for next year.

I can’t believe the posters that are claiming winter tyres are a waste of time especially those in the Highlands of Scotland. I’ve lived there most of my life and I wouldn’t be without these tyres in this weather.

I use Vredstein Quadtrac 3 on both of our family cars and both suffer much less loss of traction, brake confidently and corner better than with ordinary tyres.

I fitted these tyres to just the front of my bigger car with standard tyres on the rear and have just fitted them all round on the small car and they are brilliant.

They aren’t outright snow tyres but rather Mud and snow all season tyres so can be used all year and will continue to provide sure footed driving whenever the roads conditions are dodgy with rain or snow and to be honset I wouldn’t be without them now. Everytime I’m out I am easily catching up cars fitted with standard tyres slipping and sliding about and I haven’t had any loss of control, unless I’m in an empty carpark ;O)
