my hospital uses prep clean – has a horrible vanilla flavour and they expect you to drink 3 litres of the stuff.. The only way to disguise the flavour is to use gallons of lemon juice in the mix anything sugary such as cordial in my opinion makes it taste worse. I usually go mental on the entinox. For years they had never been able to get to the last bit of the bowel – a ct scan showed a problem in that area so it was back for another go. By the time they had finished they had to scrape me off the ceiling as i was high as a kite.

    Good luck with the scope.

Why not a honda crv – available in petrol and diesel. Mark 2 version – available in petrol and diesel. Very reliable – easily under £5k.

Had it since 1976. was told in 1982 to have an ileostomy whilst i had a bad flareup. Never had the op and its been variable since , but nothing like the flare up in 1982. Steroids are awful things – risk of steroidal diabetes and other side effects. Make sure you have regular colonoscopies as risk of bowel cancer is quite high – had half bowel removed in 2016 due to this. Previous medication that worked a treat from 1982 till the op no longer works due to the op changing the way bowel works. I used to work for the civil service and got extra sick days built into my job description as uc is covered by dda. Hopefully you’ll find a drug that works for you.

    A) i am quite capable of adjusting a strap .

    B) I suggested it had rotted, because the only difference between this helmet and other helmets i have owned was the chin guard which was acting like a sweat sponge and the straps were soaking wet.

    C) Bez – the so called creases are sweat and dirt marks, so you owe me a fiver.

Just thought it a bit off that part of the strap should shear off where it went through the buckle. Binned it now as it no longer fits and even if it did my trust in it is not very high. Up till today it’s been fine. I noticed on ebay that a chinese company BAT Fox have bought out a knockoff of the new fox flux so now doubt that will appear on on one one day as their current offerings are homages to the original fox flux (XC) and Enduro (POC) Decided my head is worth more than £14.99 so ordered a Specialized Ambush comp that i can pick up on wednesday.

@Neal Glover To clarify – part of the strap has sheared off where it goes through the buckle. Because part of the strap has sheared off the strap cannot be fastened. The strap is no longer long enough to fit unless i saw several inches off my chin. @rubber buccaneer has got it. I’ve binned the helmet as it no longer fits. As it sheared off with no warning that,s why i posted.

@otsdr – you are correct – there are two loose ends where you adjust the fit of the strap. However part of one of the straps has sheared off because the helmet no longer fits – the straps are now not long enough -though they were fine when i set off. The failure happened when i was cycling and i didn’t notice that part of the strap had sheared of. I was lucky to find the tongue. One of the straps is now considerably shorter than the other which doesnt show so well on the photo. Sorry for any confusion.

@scienceofficer – never had a strap break on any other helmet – the only difference between all my previous helmets and this one was the velcro chin guard. I presume the sweat weakened it enough for the buckle to do it’s work.

    @dirkpitt74
    – never had any other helmet fail at the strap ever.

I’ve been taking mirtazapine for ages to help me to sleep. Only side effect i’ve noticed is an increase in appetite. I usually come off the mirtazapine after a month or so, because they have a reduced effect after a while, take a break  for a few days before restarting again.

Used to keep gerbils for a number of years. Gerbils need to gnaw at things to keep their teeth down – so they will be gnawing at a piece of wood or cardboard as soon as they are awake. (i used to get people at work to bring in toilet roll inners for them to gnaw on) as well as chunks of wood. They can be good escape artists and can be buggers to catch once free – though some just faint if they are in an open space. You’ll need an old glass fish tank to keep them in – things like rotastak they just gnaw to pieces (even with the metal protection rings on ends of tubes) They are pretty friendly and don’t normally bite – they might give you a warning nip if they are distressed – if you ignore that then they will really bite – it’s no fun trying to shake off a gerbil that is embedded in the end of your finger with blood pissing out everywhere. As said before they are sociable – i found that keeping males together was a lot less fraught than keeping females. The females i had were always fighting (but that of course could be down to just the individuals involved) They are pretty clean – they will have a toilet area completely separate from their sleeping area- plus because they are desert animals they hardly pee at all. If you need further info just pm me.

if by best you mean most efficient killing machine you’d be hard pressed to beat  Kim Ok-bin from the Villainess (korean film) – the opening scene is like a live video game. Very gory.

Though  Yanin “Jeeja” Vismistananda in Chocolate (thai film) is pretty good especially as no stunt doubles were  used in filming.

@ bodgy -£280 per bottle – in lisbon several shops selling old port. Think the most expensive i saw was 1900 euros for something from the 1920s

Love my ebikes – use the hybrid one to do all my shopping around town. Sometimes use with a burley trailer to do a big shop – i’d hardly be able to move it without the ebike. Only downside is the weight of the bike which is formidable. Quite interested in the new orbea gains – they do not have as much assistance as the bosch powered ones but weigh close to 11kgs (claimed).

As for my cube 29er bosch cx it’s a monster off road coping much better with deep mud than pedal power alone. It’s great fun.

i’d second the idea of bratislava – spent couple of days there last summer – cheap and as already mentioned a short train ride to vienna. Would like to go back.

I’ve just got back from 5 days in lisbon which was pretty great (and again cheap) – but lots of hills, but public transport cheap and plentiful.

Can’t help i’m afraid but can commiserate. Did nights at the postoffice at christmas – killed me. Ok when you are a student or early 20s, late 50s – half dead for weeks. Towards the end i was coming home and sleeping for 15 hours – so jacked it in.

Had one ear done in my twenties – little diamond stud. Unfortunately still had a motorcycle and the stud kept on catching on the helmet everytime i removed the helmet. Not fun, so took it out.

i thought this article in the guardian covered it well- https://www.theguardian.com/environment/bike-blog/2017/aug/23/motorist-would-not-have-landed-cyclists-wanton-and-furious-driving-charge – sorry if it’s being posted before. where i live there are a lot of shared footpaths with pedestrians. The number who wander erratically whilst glued to their phones or deafened by their heaphones makes it a slalom course – they seem oblivious to bicycles and also merrily step into the road without a moments break from their phones. How i’ve missed some of these bozos despite great care when cycling i’d love to put down to lightning fast reactions, but seem mostly down to luck. I can assure them that being hit by a fully loaded ebike towing a trailer is going to hurt (a lot) but they don’t seem bothered.

Ford Orion – we had one as a pool car BITD. Awful to steer – heavy/unresponsive- bastid to park. Had a collection of exterior and interior trim on the back seat after it had fallen off.

dropped license 3 years ago. Didn’t receive any threatening letters. Had a visit 2 years ago – happy to show him my setup. He was satisfied. One letter since advising that if a change in circumstances should buy a license. Shame about i player, but all in all don’t miss it at all.

Always surprised that people havent heard of shimano tech docs http://si.shimano.com/#/. Quite often shimano shifters have one that clamps to bar – clamp being separate. Find separate clamp – note down part number – take to lbs who will order that part for you.

My mate had a stoma reversal – everything went ok – unlike his initial admission to remove part of his bowel due to cancer which turned into a nightmare for him/ He said it was relatively painless (but compared to the fiasco of original op might not be a good recommendation.)
