Nice! I’ve got its decrepit auntie, a c96 in metallic fairground waltzer colours.
You don’t say what the cages are, are they King?

Thanks to a bike malfunction I trained a lot of this winter on a heavy bike with a 42×23 bottom gear (I live in an area not dissimilar to the Lakes). When I got back on lower gears I thought I’d be flying, but it hasn’t worked out that way  I’m better at climbing out of the saddle than I was, but no faster.

As the poster above says, change now and work on your spin.

I love that frame Digger. I don’t think I’ve seen a lugged Kona, looks really right.

Not really a shoe person, but I picked up a pair of veggie boots in H&M for about 40 quid, there were a few styles in the shop that don’t appear on their website.

http://www.novacas.com/ are well rated, but expensive, north of 100 for the boots IIRC.

had to go into class, thanks for the suggestions. Maccruiskeen, that phone looks like the one, and I’m sure I’ve seen a TV advert for it.

Thinking about it, it must’ve been a concept as the guy in the ad is talking to it interactively . Maybe I just imagined the whole thing!

It was more like a home phone than a tablet. I remember the bloke speaking to it and it reminded him to call his mum. Jesus I hope Iddidn’t dream this…

I had the same problem, load of rubbish. I cut the straps off and just use an old toe strap to hold it.

Last creak I’ve had of that description (though mainly out of the saddle) was cured by cleaning &regreasing the free hub.
Happened on my road bike (tune hub) and MTB (pro 2). might be worth a shot if the bb grease doesnt help.

Cutting stalks off bananas. I used to do it just for the particularly woody stalks to stop them jabbing me in the back, but now can’t not do it.

    ^^^ fantastic!

Oh, and although not funny now, my home ‘region’ of Furness is derived from the Old Norse word for female genitalia, so would’ve been worth a guffaw if this had been posted 1,000 years ago.

Another Pego, though used all year to the tune of 15000km a year. When I bought it they were half the price they are now, if I were to buy again I’d have that Condor on page one.
From Sunday, doing some long bottom gear climbs grovels..

Although this happened yesterday, also gouged the seatstay and bent the hanger.

It just looks “right”, I like the black finishing kit as it shows off the frame’s proportions better.

Never thought I’d see Quattros again!

Mark, I’ve run Larssen TTs (UST & normal), conti MKs 2.2 & 2.4, and Nevegals, no problems. Once the tyre is up on the ‘shoulder’ it can take a bit of force to pop it off and into the centre channel, but I’ve done it several times recently with frozen fingers and sense of humour failure, and managed to get a tube in no bother.

Road bikes should be stealth, simple and functional

They should also have a horizontal top tube. Next!

Why has that Trek got NO BACK BRAKE?

It’s under the chain stays innit. Not sure that’s wise IRL. I only clean mine out of shame, as it’s in plain view of anyone behind me. If it was under the bike I’d likely not bother.

I think I saw a George Shaw up there. I love this one, it’s called Christmas Eve. When I first saw it, it reminded me of every Christmas Eve ever.

Problem is when it rains. After about 30m of heavy rain my gloves get waterlogged (currently trying sealskinz waterproof gloves, but no better) and then the cold starts to hurt. In dry cold, 5€ thinsulate gloves work as well as anything.

Reminds me of sitting on the talgo from Madrid to Valladolid. The carriage speed indicator sits tantalisingly at 299kmh…

Sometimes the dictionary’s just wrong. According to Collins

    almond /???m?nd/

    Everyone knows it’s pronounced ?ælm?nd :x

Well it is in Cumbria at least.

*I am trying to put some pennies by for a learner legal 125. If that happens I reckon that will really be it….

QFT. I would be retiring from a long and illustrious career as a professional cyclist around now, if I hadn’t sold my race bike & bought a 125 gamma when I was 17

Sad news. Inexplicably (given the stuff I’ve always listened to), I only ‘discovered’ him a couple of months ago when Whispering Bob interviewed him on the radio.

Agree on the variable bit. About 10º today, was mid 20s when I was out on xmas eve. But it’s been clear and sunny the last few rides.
Anyways, we need a bit of rain for the mud and abundant lethal roots and rocks

    What’s my motivation

    I’ve heard they’ve made roundels.

Just finished, 508km & 5600m climbed in 4 days. All solo, which equates to around 18 hours inside my own head :|

Where do you live? There was a pretty healthy intercambio scene in london when I was moving out here a few years back. See what there is in your area.. if you’re learning for fun, that’s gotta be one of the best ways.

I find it hard to get motivated if I’m not interested in the subject. I joined a local road club and a couple of forums, and now my cycling vocabulary is de puta madre but I struggle to talk about more everyday stuff
