CobraKai, that sounded like a fun day yesterday, luckily being based at Bristol, don’t tend to get affected by London shenanigans.

Flew back empty into Bristol, as we got on approach, ground speed was about 100kts 😂

I’ve probably spoken to you on numerous occasions 👍

We had big issues with lack of ground staff on Saturday, due to all the cancellations on Friday being moved to Saturday, the ground handlers only had staff for the scheduled arrivals/departures and therefore when more aircraft turned up, chaos ensued, probably what is happening at Heathrow.

TiRed, that’s not good news from Jerez.

On a day like today, there will always be an airport with less windy conditions, so you carry enough fuel to enable you to make two attempts at your original destination and then bugger off to your calmer diversion airport.

As for the right stuff…I can’t manual yet.

Thanks for the suggestions, can’t use a hollow crank stand unfortunately as E-bike doesn’t have one.

Nice one +1, I wonder what the range difference will be compared to the carbon rise, for example, with the range extender (so 615whr in total) rode Cwmcarn yesterday, 25 miles and 4300’. Had two bars of the bikes battery left and range extender was done.

They’ve broken the distance selling regs. If they ignore you, threaten them with small claims court and also leave a bad review on their social media/Google review.

Hopefully Chris will be able to make a difference but in my opinion there is one glaring omission from these plans.

They never mention how to tackle the cycle theft epidemic.

I would take the poor chap to the vet, could be a sign of kidney trouble.

A litter tray might stop him peeing on your doormat or some sacrificial shoes..

Had the chance to go the Isle of Mull this autumn.

It’s well known as the home of white-tailed eagles and has a quite a few pairs of golden eagles as well, usually it’s very difficult to get close to a white-tailed eagle in the wild but Mullcharters run a boat trip out to the lochs, where they throw fish out and the eagles come within 15-30 feet of the boat, swooping down onto the sea to pick up the fish.

Makes for an amazing photography experience, probably the best one in the U.K. in my opinion.

The eagles are massive, fourth largest in the world with an 8ft/2.5m wingspan and standing 1m tall when perched, my mind was truly blown.

Little video of some of the shot’s I took https://youtu.be/VzFBtY9kbvU

My Grandpa fought against the Russians, manning an artillery gun in the Finnish forests.

He really didn’t like the Russians at all.

I use Amazon photo, which is literally unlimited storage for photos for prime members.

If you decide to leave the prime-e-verse then I think you have about three months to download all your photos.

I found out I had gallstones after a 70 mile hot ride.

A few hours I was in A&E doubled over and vomiting as I was in the most ridiculous pain imaginable.

After an ultrasound the next day, they told me I had a infected gallbladder, five days in hospital getting the infection under control, then four weeks of an almost zero fat diet (chicken breast salad etc) I had it removed privately.

I then could not produce solid motions for three months so am now on prescription bile acid sequestrants for the last four years, apparently according to my consultant, I was one of the unlucky 5% who need the medication.

If you can go private, I was told it’s a better option as the surgeon will x-ray the bile duct as well to make sure there are no residual stones left in there, he said that on the NHS, they don’t do that, so you can be left with pain even after have the gall bladder removed.

    Good luck!

@boblo U.K. based commercial airline pilots definitely don’t earn that sort of money now!

The old Cathay A scale was renowned as being rather lucrative, I don’t think that’s the case, especially today in Cathay. As South Downs biker said, let somebody else pay for your chopper training or do it as a hobby.

As far as I’ve heard, commercial chopper pilots earn a lot less than fixed wing pilots.

So only go for poling a big chopper, if you really want to.

Well my PCR test came back negative, thank goodness, don’t what caused the sore throat though!

Still waiting #aprisonerforcaution, still getting -ve lateral flows but got a sore throat, fuzzy head and now diarrhoea so am not going to risk mixing with relatives until I get the results.

    Really quite fed up.

    @ernielynch

Lol I was told to ring 119 if I hadn’t heard in 3 days, I rang them this morning just to check they had registered my test against my QR code.

They did admit there was a delay due to the sheer number of tests.

Well I’m still waiting for my PCR test result taken at 1400 on Xmas eve.

I’m now on a run of three bad Christmas days and it’s getting to me a bit! First one was when my partner was recovering from chemotherapy, I just want my better half to be able to enjoy life and this pandemic has been very tough for her, as just as she was hoping to get on with life, she got the clinically extremely vulnerable letter…

If it comes back positive then in my opinion, lateral flow tests are useless now. I really feel at the moment that we’re being punished for doing the right thing.

Are LFT’s now fit for purpose?

Only reason I ask, is here and other fora, there has been anecdotal tales of multiple -ve LFT’s followed by a +ve PCR.

I’ve been performing an LFT a day but started having a sore throat on Thursday, still negative LFT as well as yesterday but decided to go get a PCR at 2.00pm yesterday.

I bloody hope the results turn up today as potentially might of screwed up Xmas but it was all this talk of -ve LFT followed by a +ve PCR that made me change my mind, as have to be careful due to my partner being on the CEV list.

Hope everyone else’s Christmas is better.

8 years ago, I bought some Recaros for my MX5 for £800, apparently only 500 made globally.

Got rid of the mx5 and thought I would stick the seats up on a Fbook mx5 buy and sell group…sold them for £2500!

If it’s your first eeb after riding for years on a normal bike, then no.

I’ve just done that, can pedal it easy with motor off, feels like a normal bike. First ride on it, admittedly with my mate, who was pedalling a Jeffsy, 20k, 750m and only used 20% battery!

Well, I demoed a Kenevo SL last week, definitely still a cardio workout up hill just really didn’t feel like I worked my leg muscles as much as a normal bike.

Still most of my riding group now have mopeds, so I’ve got a full face helmet on order…

Nice, I rode a Kenevo SL on the demo day this week, does not feel like an eeb on the downs.

I’m confused, isn’t the advice, if you have symptoms, which is basically you feel ill, AFAIK, you go and get a PCR test?

    boardmanfs18

Wouldn’t you be pedalling with the same effort just be going faster?

And then I would be covering more ground for the same time, which potentially could be a win.

Ton, interested to hear why you don’t have an eMtb anymore.

Just discovered Mull, spent three days there last month, rained off and on, so no chance of seeing the scenery but was there specifically to go on a Mullcharters photo trip, luckily it was only force 5 but the white tailed eagles visited and got some cracking photo’s, spent the other days looking for Otters, only fleeting glimpses.

I’ve already booked a cottage for next summer and we are going back This November on a 3 day Otter photography course.

So you could say I’ve become a bit of a fan of the island!

Thanks for the caldigit recommendation, mrsmith.

Unfortunately the latest LaCie D2 is USB-C only, the Amazon description confused me too but after looking at the specs on the LaCie site it definitely is usb-c only, of course that is backwards compatible with a thunderbolt 3 port but apparently only offers half the transfer speed.

    Thanks Welshfarmer.

Not as tough in terms of steep climbs as the black killer loop that’s for sure, needs to minimise a pushup as all the routes I’ve planned involve Y Das upwards!
