What’s the craic with Pearl Jam cancelling last minute? I’d heard rumours a while a go of very low ticket sales and slashed prices to try and get folk in

Turned Dua Lipa off and went to bed. Thought the sound mix was awful, could hardly hear her over the mix.

Hmm. I had my Sonos setup cranked and it sounded great

She’s living her dream. Anything to stop you following yours.

My parents did a damn good job of crushing mine. Absolutely forbid me to do what I wanted to do and forced me to do what they wanted. Forbid me from doing a music degree at Uni, forced me to do engineering which I ended up dropping out of. Wanted to go travelling and they refused to support me and threatened me with all sorts. Countless other things.  Horrible people. Took me a long time to stand up to them.

It’s great to see Tracey actually supporting her daughter and her dreams.

Top tip. Bags of frozen peas stay frozen longer than bags of ice or ice packs

Fluke that guitare tone was perfect too

It really wasn’t. The intro is played on the neck pickup with the tone turned right down. Not on an SG with only a bridge pickup. Not quite the expert you make yourself out to be

I have 2. A huge one and a normal size one. Been round a baking hot Alps in the van in the summer with the dogs raw food in it.

Frozen stuff will still be fairly well frozen after 5 days as long as you’re not opening it constantly

Whoever took the time to do that is a **** of absolutely epic proportions. I always wondered what happened to people like that after Points Of View stopped being broadcast

Looking at the person’s FB profile, it appears they got cleared out of some very high end bikes a couple of years ago. Likely a known target now.

I’ve been there in the past and seen torrential rain for 20 hours a day, every day for weeks on end

    Summer 2013?

It was horrific. I think it rained for 40 days in a row. I tell you what though, my mud riding skills improved 1000% that year

There are loads of different grades of trails there

And it’s very easy to get fooled by the grading. I’ve encountered many a rider on the red on the pleney on the verge of tears. Or plenty on the blue named “Family” which is anything but a family trail

It’ll be interesting to see if the upcoming EU laws around repairability of electrical goods make any difference to ebike motors. Not that we’d directly benefit due to Brexit but in April the EU voted to enshrine a Right To Repair in EU law for primarily household goods like dishwashers etc although smart phones are included and the list can be expanded. Ebike motors feel exactly like the kind of thing that should fall under this. Force the manufacturers to make them repairable rather than having to be replaced

Still think England are gonna win it.

It would be the greatest turnaround of all time if they do given how good other teams look already.

TRP Hyd Rd brakes on my gravel bike. Other than a pad change they’ve needed zero maintenance in 6 years and they just work.

Play around on the new stuff. The older stuff is a bit disjointed because of the building work for the new lodges. Not sure what’s open or closed blue wise around the top car park but it’s a bit of a mess

+1 for a Toyota. My sister has an ancient auto Yaris

I met my Mrs in 2015 and she had a 2004 Yaris. I eventually managed to convince her to sell it in 2021. I don’t think she ever had it serviced. Nothing ever went wrong with it. It passed every MOT without fail. She’d never had the timing belt changed. Absolutely bombproof

Would be interesting to know if those who don’t wear helmets (at times) would be ok with someone choosing not to help them if they had an off and hurt their head.

I’ve had people turn up for an MTB ride and I’ve told them to go away on their own because they chose not to wear a helmet, and I’m not going to come to their aid if their own choice resulted in an accident that needed my help
