I did it last time I was made redundant in 2000.

I couldn't stand the shame of signing on and would rather be working for shit money than not working so I took the first job I was offered even though it temp with rolling contract.

Within 1 month the manager pulled me aside and told me he was making me permanent and gave me a decent pay rise. It's nice when things work out like that.

I left when an old boss called me and offered me a real job a few months later but hey ho.

If I lost my job tomorrow I'd do the same again no questions asked.

I try not to eat/drink too much before bedtime or i wake up with a mouthfull of stomach contents.
I take the Lansoprazole everyday or when I can remember anyway, once a week at least.

Worst thing for me is smoking, it kills me for days.
Spicy food has to be real spicy to set it off, were talking Habanero tobasco (which I love) normal tobasco is fine.
Coffee, chocolate and other things I was told to stay away from are also fine with me.
Luckiest of all alcohol is fine unless I hit the shots like Tequila.

My mate has the same and still smokes everyday but hasn't drunk a beer in years as it kills him.

I guess it affects everyone differently.

Remeber when you lapse, and you will, dont think "oh well I've failed now might as well buy a pack and carry on smoking" you need to think "I tell you what, smoking one or two tonight and none for the last few days is still a lot better than 20 a day".

With that attitude you will succeed.

I still smoke now and again (I enjoy it. Sorry) especially on holiday and sometimes at special occasions but as soon as I'm back I stop.

Don't crucify yourself for sneaking a cheaky tab, remeber that.
