Watching Ulster Ospreys and BBC NI had a piece about the Nevin Spence centre opened recently at Ravenhill. Can’t believe it’s three years since he died.

Assuming you have a UK passport and are travelling under the VWS you need a return ticket

Plus, if entering the United States by air or sea you are:

    holding a return or onward ticket. If traveling on an electronic ticket, a copy of the itinerary must be carried for presentation to U.S. immigration at the port of entry. Note: Travelers with onward tickets terminating in Mexico, Canada, Bermuda or the Caribbean Islands must be legal permanent residents of these areas;

Maybe they do this already and the black communities just ignore their efforts?

I toured SA in 1997 and even back then as part of the tour the SARU made sure that a third of our matches were played in ‘development zones,’ townships to you and me. It was a great experience but football is the preferred sport.

I think the problem is government interfering in sport, they would be best to leave it to the union.

AWJ’s knee still is following his late tackle.

That was late, I agree. Is AWJ arse ok though? Henderson fairly set him back on it 😀

Reasonably happy with the Ire squad but gutted for Trimble, I suppose they must have thought he hadn’t had enough game time. I still think he offers a different dimension and greater physicality than Earls or Fitzg.

Hopefully the Wales game was our poor performance. The backrow esp Murphy were really poor, made Tips look good IMO. The pack against Eng is likely to be much stronger with Best, Toner, Ross and SOB back.

Can’t believe Scotland aren’t taking Cowan, he’s a great player

I had to pick my comp car a few months back and on paper the D4 Volvo looked great, however the engine was totally unrefined IMO. Dumped all the power really quickly and was much rougher than I expected from a Volvo. Went for a Passat in the end.

Buy I can’t stand stand adults who are jealous and resentful of so called sibling ‘favouritism’ – jealousy and resentment are very ugly character traits, and are almost undoubtedly the cause of any preferential treatment

    Piss off and grow up

This person is niether jealous nor resentful. However seeing their children ask why their grandparents will not visit hurts them because they know they are affected by it.

yes but i’m an adult and deal with it, my partner on the other hands sees it as a struggle. Pointless waste of energy! Tel the person to grow up and think about themselves / immediate family. I was most certainly middle child syndrome, but i now do far better for myself than either of my siblings – the past is probably what’s got me where i am. No hard feelings, i appreciate what i did/do get, but don’t hanker after what i didn’t/don’t get..

Thanks Sui, that’s what I have been trying to do, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.

How does the other sibling feel about the differential (better) treatment of their kids? The only approach that might work is a joint one.

They are happy to take the piss and milk it for all they can. It has been raised with them and it caused an almighty row.

Also I’m not talking about financial support, more just showing any kind of interest in this person and their children.

The moving a couple of hours away from your family is a bigee. The support of parents, and friends when you’re bringing kids up is absolutely invaluable. Especially for your other half, who might end up feeling really isolated without them, and you at work all day.

    This + 1000

With our first child we lived about 40 mins from my wife’s family and I was very close to work. It was a rural area we lived in and my wife really found it isolating and difficult.

Due to this we decided to move closer to family support. We ended up moving when my wife was around 4 months pregnant with our second, this was the single most stressful time in my life, by a distance. However, it was worth it, especially when our second was born. Even just knowing that family were 5 mins away made a huge difference to my wife and meant that we could enjoy life so much more.

Now they are a little older it’s good to be able to pop out, even just for half and hour, and have someone close by to mind the children.

My work is further away but it has been totally worth it for the extra support.

Only established internationals are on Irish contracts. Most of the Ulster squad are contracted to Ulster Rugby not the IRFU. I believe the only IRFU contracted are Best, Timble and Bowe. The likes of Henry and Henderson would be on an Ulster contract.

What happened Nigel Owens in the Ulster game?
