Really looking forward to the Ulster game tonight. Always a bit of niggle between the teams and we owe them one from the QF two years ago.

If we can take Saints on up front then I think we can sneek it. It will be very close though.

This made me chuckle on the UAFC…

A lot will change in over two years chaps!! By that time Ireland will be number one in the world doubled our number of grand slams to 4 and beaten all the SH superpowers by 50 points!! 😀

I’ll wager that Tuilagi goes (barring injury)

The Irish Times piece was written before the w/e but yes Tuilagi has to be in the squad.

I scoffed when I saw ROGs name mentioned as a squad player, but then maybe as a mainstay of the midweek team, you never know

The three Kiwi’s that normally work in our office have all decided to work from home today.

    Can’t think why.

A good point in your last sentence Tom, it’s still fun to speculate though.

Scarlets vs Ulster starting at 4 for those interested. Ulster have most of their squad available but a similar scarlets side beat Munster in Limerick last week so it could be a decent match.

Just seen the result, well done Eng cracking result. Kryton enjoy the drinks well deserved. Unlucky Wales and down in the third tier of international rugby. 🙁

    That is all.

And that is what NH rugby has come down to, who can lose to the SH by the least number of points.

I think you will find we humped Argentina 😉

    Not looking good for POC-

Locked out O’Connell writes off his Lions tour

Paul O’Connell, who captained the Lions in South Africa in 2009, has virtually ruled himself out of consideration for next year’s tour to Australia fully seven months in advance.

Sidelined during the Six Nations by a knee injury, which resurfaced to rule him out of the summer tour, O’Connell has since been plagued by back problems which have placed a cloud over the career of Ireland’s outstanding forward of this and probably many other generations.

“I’d love to go but at this stage it’s not looking great for me,” a resigned O’Connell said on KFM radio yesterday after just two games in the last seven months. “I’ve spent a lot of time injured now and it’s going to be a bit of a battle to get fitness so while it would have been a goal for me, I suppose right now I’m just looking to get back fit and get back playing as soon as I can. Whatever happens from there happens.”

Duckie, we will give you Deccie for a bottle of Irn Bru and a haggis supper.

Although Ire got a good win on paper yesterday I still don’t think the young players are being brought on fast enough, what was the point of bringing ROG on for 10 mins at the end. Young Jackson should have been given a run.

All Blacks should have been down to 14. No excuse for what Hoare did. I wonder will Donnacha Ryan send Bradley a get well soon card?

Yes. They are rubbish, avoid. Boil in the bag initially and after 3 proper washes according to instructions they are no longer waterproof. Small fitting as well

    Predictions then

Ireland by 3, provided Deccie makes some changes
England by 5, based on books being poor against us
    Scotland by 10
Wales will do well to keep it under 50 points

    Ireland; dirt track bullies

    Oh harsh!

TBH the way the IRFU have treated Fiji is awful. Not awarding caps, moving it to a backwater and sending out the B team is very disrespectful. No wonder Fiji were more interested in boxing than playing rugby, they just didn’t really want to be there.

However the ‘Ireland’ team can only play whats in front of them and the young back line was wonderful to watch at times. But careful Deccie won’t use any of them against Arg and nothing will change. I worry about how poor our forwards were against Fiji and have a worry that the Arg pack will tear us apart on sat.

Mike you can go to a solicitor now and tell them all information you have to date. They will keep you right.

A conviction for the driver is irrelevant to any settlement as the claim will be a civil matter. The process can be lengthy however, could be a few years.

Mike get your friend to go to a reputable solicitor. No win no fee is a myth, any settlement from an insurance comp covers the claimants costs.

The initial consultation will generally be foc and they will outline what they are entitled to claim for. Do not accept any offer from the insurance comp before your friend has spoken to a solicitor.

Don’t like the sound of this statements on POC’s injury…..

Commenting on O’Connell’s recurrence of a bulging disc problem, Ireland team manager Michael Kearney said: “There’s been no timeframe put on his return to play at this stage. It’s a question, I think, of just monitoring it as we go along and see where it ends up.

“There’s no fixed date or estimate as to when he actually will return to play. It is out there in the public domain that he’s had a couple of (anti-inflammatory) injections. He had a further injection on Friday.

“It will be managed for the next while and the hope is that it can settle down over the next few weeks.

“Certainly the nature of the injury means that it’s a question of wait and see. It certainly isn’t a black and white situation in terms of knowing the exact prognosis for what you do from this moment on.”

As for Lions captain is there any player a dead cert for a starting place at the moment?
