Well of I break them then I have a receipt and dumb staff in the local halfords who will exchange them no doubt.

Anyhow, they are 30 on eBay so can’t lose

Which camp do walkers sit in?

Boring flat trails in a rugged landscape or those which are scarred by hundreds if years of passage exposing the geology and adding vast wealth to the surroundings?

Can the landowners not be persuaded to have two paths next to each other, one left as it is and another new one cut with shavings? Signage to direct the best option for your enjoyment and shared sections where its slready smooth and “we’ll maintained”

Is this too simple? Surely all users add money into the economy so encouraging all of them is a benefit to everyone?

It’s either that or the national park authority actually open up some of the moorland and cut in some trails down to the bedrock

I had a specialized one delaminate at over 50 coming down from windy hill and it kept catching on the forks on the road bike, cacked myself

Why don’t you adjust it to the average speed you travel at on motorways in the settings and then it will be pretty damn accurate, set it to 40 for motorways and you will clearly win each time

I’ve come with a few after today’s forage, most I decided against there and then however I’m not sure about these in the whole

The left one an orange birch bolete I believe

The three on bottom left I originally thought were chanterelles but unconvinced now

The top left pile I put down as st George’s

Bottom right pile not a clue

And one on the right a wood blew it maybe?

    Any thoughts

Love foraging but other than oysters and shaggy ink caps I don’t feel at all confident

Next year I’m going to find someone in the know to show me the ropes a bit I think!

Seems the cast surround is going to stay but the wooden mantle and surround will be in the for sale section soon.

Roll on building a mini mcmooter wood store!

There is another one in the opposite room but that has a gas fire in at present, wife wants to remove that completely as it will be the play room. Might have to open up the opinion of the STW fire loving public on that one but it may well be safer not having some form of limestone lump protruding into the floor of a playroom (to return as soon as the kids grow up!)

Silca Pista is amazing by the way, real basic engineering using industrial hoses and connectors with push fittings as used across the hydraulics world and perfected by the Italians.

Something massively different to standard off the peg track pumps with flimsy plastic bits, really impressed and glad i strayed from the norm

This is what im talking about

The wife wasnt overly keen on the wooden surround. Its a 30’s house (i believe) so it probably is original to that era. I think the mirror has to go as a start.

Wood isnt/wont be a problem as a friend has a paintball park in an old forest/coppice so i just need a trailer or use of his van, he is happy to decapitate himself with a chainsaw!

I dont anticipate the house being that draughty, seems better than our current mid 90’s thing with old wooden double glazed windows and a wooden front door. Has good double glazing, GRP front door and UPVC rear with UPVC patio doors hence thinking about a vent pipe. I thought this would allow heat to rise upstairs as oppose to being sucked down?

Any suggestions for blocking it up when not in use? Is there any kind of inflatable device you can pop in for example or is it just a case of chopping a bit of board?

Anglo Asian mining is about to release news on its resource update following 29,000m of drilling if you have a hole burning in your pocket. Prob a better bet than the Royal Mail, 2 positive rns’s this week already.

how are you planning on getting there? Transfers from geneva are not cheap, circa 400Euro if i remember right so unless there is a group to fill the van it can easily make it unviable. you could hire a car tough but not cheap.

Driving would be a non-goer really

I think this is a case of you being unlucky and not checking it over fully.

Its sold as seen, its a risk buying a secondhand frame (and personally id have walked away from that vintage lapierre anyhow, never mind one in that state, hardly just been rode down tow paths has it!

Its hard luck really, just ride it till it goes fully, its not going to kill you or bung a banjo clip around the shell to hold it and stop it expanding too much. I wouldnt worry about looks as its destroyed already.

Jees totally gutting but thinking what TOD above said. Do you advertise your bikes on the roof or back of the car by any chance? Wondering if someone has picked you up on the motorway and followed you?

EIther that or they are following people from trail centres. You would think that was a bit far but that bunch of scousers were driving to the lakes to take them off the roof of cars.

An umbrella company can be good for tax purposes if doing it for a short term and it will show as you being employed and not self employed. Also if working a descent distance from home the tax benefits can mount up.

I was also a lot better off contracting and had time to make extra money doing other stuff which was all extra on top of a good wage but it depends on your field ultimately.

You will get a better rate contacting the employer direct too and missing out on the agency middle man

Similar thoughts on setting one up also. Was wondering about doing one in tod in collaboration with STW towers and then having an organised ride after or something down them lines

On the riding over the legal driving limit front there is no law against it unless you are clearly a danger to others and then I’m sure they will come up with something, that’s what a copper reliably informed me anyhow, saying he rides after 5 or 6 pints regularly

the other half took her neice there last month and was horrified at price of food and drink in park. cheapest burger/chips in a sit down place was 17 euros and was shite. she is in business travel and got a half price deal to stay in one of the places in the park or next to it cant remember and again was very xpensive. one of the better things was tea or lunch with characters as the all u can eat buffet she said was very good

bottle of water = 3 euros

its not that bad really, e.g. main food hall in disney studios was 6.50 chicken burger, 7.50 std burger, 8.80 for angus burger or about 12 euros for a meal deal burger, fries, chips, magnum/fruit brownie.

Water is free out of a fountain or take your own.

Lots of people exaggerate. Go to Mcdonalds if you want cheap (4euro big mac etc) but then it takes time to get there and back and eat and when you are spending so much on tickets is it worth it? If so do it or take a packed lunch

We went the first week in Sept and had a good time. It was busy but quiet as oppose to what it would have been just days before.

Stayed in the Newport Bay hotel as the mother in law paid. It all depends what you want to spend as to which way is best to do it.

If you want to save money dont buy food and drink there, however its not that bad price wise (burger type meal is about 11-13Euro, sit down meal can be 30-£35E for a set menu, to 30 euro for a main, but then do you want a full on silver service meal? Prob not but it was nice as it was included and good quality. Burgers in teh park are better than mcdonalds, however there is a mcdonalds that charges normal prices opposite the big balloon between the park gates and the hotel. Drinks again are quite a bit but just fill up on the water fountains and take whatever you like in. We were told you couldnt, you CAN! They do a bag search or xray it but its not for food and drink.

If you stay in the hotel and want a drink when the kids are asleep the best bet is to take it with you as its 7E/half litre beer or 12E for a single, wine 8E small glass. You can eat there too and the bar restaurant prices are dirt cheap in comparison but its time and you need to pay to get there unless you drive.

If you mix it with Paris, i wouldnt stay there, just hop on the train from where you stay, try stay near a station, however be prepared for a push and shove on the way back, its busy a few hrs before the fireworks end so god only knows what its like after they finish.

Depending on kids age, if they are young there isnt actually much to do other than queue for a ride go on it and repeat. There is nothing in teh way of play areas other than one naff one for them to create their own play, thats my only criticism of the place for toddlers

It’s just too dangerous for them to borrow more! Borrow more and they edge too close to not being the reserve currency, oil no longer being traded in dollars, you name it!

The ROW doesn’t want dollars anymore, big big problems afoot and why a its possibly worth having a reserve in gold for when tipping point is hit.

Sounds quite end of world that but could be interesting times ahead
