Why bitch at him for being immoral, no different to a plumber not putting a cash job through the books, bitch at the bleeding government for allowing it to happen!

Most people would walk out of Tesco without paying if they could get away with it

This is legal is it not?

Kato, whats the best way of suggesting that if the police dont do something you will personally see that this person pays so to speak without being arrested? Just enough to get them to act but not take it full circle and go after the innocent victim as so often happens?

Why would you retire to somewhere where everyone will hate you just because you are english?

Im trying to sort out a move to Malvern, seems to tick a lot of the boxes for us with a young family

Each police should be allowed a fake account that allows them to win an auction and request the other parties details (which you can do), the only downside being it gives yours too, which wouldnt much matter if it was a fake address.

Definitely get the police involved if you aren’t there or slip a shady mate £50 to visit for you!

I snaffled some Sidi Goretex winter boots in the height of last summer for £42 posted. He apologised that he didnt have time to remove the cleats and said he had used them for two winters commute, hardly a mark on them till the first ride out by me.

RRP is something like £250 plus the shimano cleats which were as new!

Mattjg, the more people there are in the food chain the more a product ends up costing, hence why superstar can sell items made in teh same factory as big name brands for a lot less.

    Look at it in reverse

    Hub for example

    RRP £100
Shop buys from distributor in UK for £60
Distributor in UK takes 40% so they pay £36
International company takes their 40% so they buy from Taiwan for £21
    Sourcer/Supplier in Taiwan takes 30%

So you are looking at £100 for an item that started at £15

Shit isnt it, (Advertising isnt cheap!)

Superstar for example can source himself at say £20 as he isnt buying quite the same quantities and sell for £50 giving the customer better value and himself a larger margin.

Everyone wants a slice of the pie!

Sunglasses are the worst, each step the price literally doubles, everyone has 100% or close to!

I do have to grease the back of my knees up though otherwise they rub my ferkin skin off especially if worn over tights in the winter !

I wouldnt say that was a great selling point.

Look at O’neal ones, come with std or D30 protection and they stay put and are great, used by a lot of racers as they stay put and are comfortable.

Didnt have to pull mine up once in a week in france, and unlike Endura ones, is dint have to grease my knees up to stop them rubbing! (Escitable1 – Are you for real, saying they are good but rub the skin off your knees?)

What’s your problem. You couldn’t be arsed to do it and neither could he. You wouldnt do it as its a ball ache and he he prob thought you have the gear so get some idea, its not difficult, wheels dont need to be perfect with discs, gotta learn some time and seating tubeless, well its a downside of tubeless tyres.

At leas the was honest with you!

Stans Crest on Superstar Hubs, £200 and 1650g! No brainer

Id repeatedly drag it through the office and leave it somewhere near the bosses office.

That will soon get it pushed through sooner id imagine

I dont think you can beat the Superstar deal that they have on Stans Flows built onto their hubs, £200 gets you a lighter wheel and you will sell your old ones for more so money in your pocket too!

Just remember that being clever, fast on a bike and coming out with a 2:1 or above wont get you a Job, what will is getting relevant work experience while you are there and making contacts. That is far more important than what the piece of paper says, truth is 90% of employers would never check that you actually went to a specific Uni or what grade you come out with, that can easily be bulshitted away, experience cant and that will get you places.

Think of Uni more as a fun three years that will open doors over that time but make use of them 3 years to open the doors otherwise the ones that did will leave you trailing, especially in today’s jobs market and with the cost of going to Uni.

Grades don’t easily get you jobs, contacts on the other hand do!

Loughbrough for example may not be the best idea as competition for contacts in industry will be so much more fiersome.

Just something for you to think about also.

Having worked with L’Boro and Bath SU’s i can say that l’boro birds are generally hotter but more pretentious than Baths, and bath would be a nicer place to live than l’boro IMO.

If you want a razor to last ages, dip it in olive oil after each use, saves the edges getting tiny flecks of rust on which is what causes the bluntness, try it!

If the large spacer (the reducer cup is tight it shouldn’t be a problem. If the movement is here then it sounds like your headtube is ovalised (but i suspect not as this would just creak.

    Just confirm two things

Is the headset pressed into the reducer cup at the bottom. I’m a bit lost over your mention of a spacer. all you should have down there is the headtube, the reducer cup and the lower headset assembly. There shouldn’t be any other spacers.

Also, when you tighten the top bolt, you are loosening the stem off the steerer first aren’t you? If not then tightening will do nothing.

    bland

It sounds like a standard 1 1/8″ headset fitted inside reducer cups.

Have you tried loosening the stem/steerer bolts, making sure teh stem will move while holding the wheel straight and then nipping up the steerer bolt (the one at the top). (i hope i dont come over patronising but im not sure of your experience with bike fettling?)

If you have tried tightening up the headset as above and its not that, is there any movement between the frame and the cups which are directly inserted into the frame?

I suspect that your headset just needs nipping up though

the other option is to sell them on before it happens.

I just sold a 2year old pair of 32s for £10 more than they cost me new thanks to ebay (£310)

Happy days (even more so as i replaced them with Merlins Revs which were £270!

but for 2K, buy it, i miss my 52 plate golf 130.

Friend had teh 150, loads more grunt.

Yeah you can get faster diesels now but its 10yr old and 2K.

They dont handle that bad either, all the haters must just be pretty naff drivers who need the car to do all the work!

Just sell it and if you want another then get one. Its only losing money while its sat there. ebay it and keep your eyes peeled for a bargain if you decide you want one in the summer for example, especially if you want the cash.

Keep your riding kit etc as that will be worth buttons

Are they not intended to be used with a dropper?

I know you are prob thinking well why, but its a premium frame and why wouldnt you. More will than wont and if it means sacrificing a std post for strength i suspect they have taken that option.

I dont know anyone with one sand dropper

EDIT – 150mm of drop is loads anyway, droppers only give you five”/125mm and thats enough

You can do it cheap, we have prefected it over many years, culminating in a group of us buying an LDV High top and cramming 10 of us in, see here page 54

This year 4 of us went to Bourg (Les Arcs) for 8 days and it worked out pretty cheap. We managed 7 days of riding too as oppose to 4 or 5 with a hol company.

    (All Return costs)
    Ferry £85
    Fuel £290
    Tolls £145
    Camping £150
Car Insurance for extra drivers £90
    Breakdown cover £26

    £786/4 = £196.50 each

    Extras were
lift passes (70 euro/week for Les Arcs)
Food and drink – Varies depending upon if you go out or not, but noticeably cheaper this year as uk prices have risen and the euro is better for us

We did spend extra going out for meals and beers, had a day guiding from Stevo at the White Rooms, and bought lift passes daily as rode la Thuile twice and planned to go elsewhere too.

You can save on camping if you really want to, we never used to pay for camping but rode somewhere different each day and got that pissed in the van we didnt care where we ended up sleeping but im getting too old for that now, ill pay £37 to camp in a camp site for the week and chill thanks.

The fact i blew a grand ona new frame, wheels and forks etc a week before i went is just minor detail (and it 90% recovered now by selling the old stuff – thank god!)
