I have an Edge 705 which is very good. Maps can be updated to keep up with every changing roads. It is possible to upload from memory map however i have never done this.

The only downside is it can't display OS maps, however the road mapping is good.

I have a Cross pen, not sure where you get them from in the UK but it is very nice.

Another one to consider might be the Specialized Myka series.

My fiancee liked the extra stand over height due to frame design, it gives her much more confidence.

If you just want to get music from the ipod there is also a free program called SharePod.
Very good for listening to music on an Ipod without ITunes

I like to drive and be aware of what is going on around me and would say I above average.
However I don't think I am a god at driving. To me a driving god would be someone like Colin McRae.

    buy a Subaru…
Failing that drive smoothly and keep a good distance between you and the car infront so when the car behind fails to stop you have an escape.

A guy i know in Denmark has an area to clean his bike in his basement. Hose is plugged into hot water and we just wheeled the bikes in and washed the bikes in the warm and dry. This makes such a difference after 3hours on a cold and wet ride.

I as many have said i would also put in cables for speakers and probably network the house.

Yep the studs go through the soles if you walk a lot, i ended up taking mine studs out. Now all i need to do is fix the hole on one side where i came off and the will be toasty warm again.

I also own a Global but have never seen any others about, this could be because I was based in Denmark, and most people only ride road bikes here.

I used one while touring New Zealand on bike, very useful when the bike is fully loaded. The one i had fitted onto the bar end plug, i think you can see it in the photo on the link below.

As has been said above positioning is for me more important.

Really enjoyed it, weather was fantastic as were all the riders i chatted to on the way around. Looking forward to next year, hopefully with a lot more training i will get sub 5 hours but this time i had to settle for sub 6.5, cramping up after 50km.

    see you all next year

I will be there, flying in from the very flat Denmark, which means the hills will be hard.
I've signed in for the long course…. perhaps i made a mistake, fingers crossed for the weather though.

people who don't match up the logos on tyres to the valve 😉

    Just kidding…

I find it strange when I ride with people who don't wear helmets, still ride with them but its just strange.

Fiancee has a set on one bike and has just had me install a set on her new bike, says they make an amazing difference.

I have tried them, they are ok but don’t ride them often enough to be converted.

I wear one, no matter how far i have to ride. As some above say i feel naked without it.
The fiancee now wears one after someone at her work was put into a coma after hitting there head on the curb when they were knocked off there bike.

I have a pair of the JVC NC-250 headphones. They are fantastic wouldn’t fly anywhere without them now. Unlike some others they will work without being turned on however obviously not cancel ambient noise. Highly rated and well worth the money.

I would say you are perfectly normal, without trying new things we will never find perfection.

    Both look good.
This is what I built on Friday evening, it rides nice just looking forward to more rides and getting to a country where there are some hills.

I would highly recommend Overshoes, warm feet and clean shoes. I am using Endura MT500. The only problem i see would be if you had to walk long sections of a route.
