As loddrik above, I rarely even bother to look at the listings for itv. Utter rubbish. Luckily I live alone and do not have to watch celebity stuff, and Mrs B has not even got a tv so when she is here isn’t bothered about watching nonsense.

I did watch the FA cup highlights though.

Thinking of doing the BC as well Dyffers, probably only chance to do a 600 before heading to the USA. Would be good training for me though. But I am tempted by the Snow Roads ride mentioned above, which means I would not qualify for PBP.

My problem is Mrs B may not want me disappearing a few days before heading West on my own for a couple of months….

I was looking in lbs recently and saw the Conti tyres, which I have been using, at about £35. Found some Spesh Roubaix Pro for about £23 less club discount.

    Seem fine so far.

Easy to avoid stuff with large logo’s but can’t be bothered to spend time deleting or hiding small manufacturers logo’s.

I have seen some awful logo’s, I reckon good logo’s and design is not that easy. Have a look at the Rapha -v-Torm thread on Road.CC

You get some instructions, left here, straight on there etc. Eventually you get to a cafe and have to stamp a card you are given.

Just turn up / enter – it is quite straight forward.

I am in Derby and doing a few local one’s. One near Rutland in two weeks.

The Skeggy ride is a good one Swadey – 300km from Alfreton…

Audax’s charge about £4-5 but you supply your own food. Sportive’s charge about £25-30 and some food is often included.

Unless you do the Tour of the Peak where the food was gone before the quickest riders on the long course had finished. I ended up with a dry bread roll….

It’s OK. WOuld not want it to be the only riding I do though, once you get to 200km (at my speed) it’s a long day out.

Planning to qualify for PBP starting with a 200km from near Stockport next month but going back to Ireland mid August for a couple of weeks and not doing PBP itself. A number from my club are interested though…

I did it last year and enjoyed it, weather was lovely though. My gears played up on the first climb so rode round mostly on my own passing the odd person once all sorted.

Flying back from Mallorca very late the night before so can’t make it.

Assuming Camden district rather than Camden Town there is an Ibis and a Thistle next to Euston station.

Stayed in both, Thistle is the better of the two but not sure of rates at the moment but you could get a room for ~£80 last year.

It’s about a 15 minute walk from Camden Town itself though regular bus and tube if required.

Should be the same imo – equal opportunities for all. See no problem retiring when you choose at say 75 or 80 but usually it is around when the state pay the OAP. This should be paid to everybody at the same age.

(Cannot imagine wanting to be working past 65, I finished last year at 51 and happy as a sandboy – even an hour into a strong headwind this morning had me smiling inside before turning for home)

There is a second bothy close to the very Northern tip of the map. Stayed there last year and then rode to Strata Florida and down through forest as part of the WRT. I did a few ‘bonus’ miles in the forest after not checking map correctly….

    You all set off together.
You have to enter in advance through email to Stuart – and then some form filling.
You have to answer a question or take a photo. Take them back to Stuart who glances at the answers and then puts them in a bin…..

I went with Graham Baxter Sporting Tours about 10 years ago to Benidorm, but they do Majorca as well. No problems for me, they just matched up the singles into pairs at random to reduce the singlr upplement.

Going for 12 days in March, 3 of us are sorting out own thing out.

Unless you are dead set on a N2S C2C there is also this W2N C2C from issue 59 which I am looking at. I may add on the Trans Cambrian IMBA route to make it about a week.

http://www.theedgecycleworks.com/mtbroutes/north-wales-coast-2-coast-day-1 This is the first day, the other three are there as well.

Taylor mentioned Aidan’s route and while I was researching this alternative, finishing at Afan / Port Talbot instead, I stumbled across this route by the numplumz boys.

Heard early August mentioned so as not to clash with SSWC.

Also spotted on twitter that Aidan could be ‘busy’ between mid June to Mid July so one of the first two weekends in August looks favourite.

Iain1775 (I am Derby city centre also) – Those woods are in the Shepshed area, used to go orienteering there 20-30years ago. Ridden road bike near there but could never be bothered to drive down to ride mtb. Rather go to Cannock or Chatsworth if getting in car.

I have ridden from Derby to Bramcote off road a fair to ride Hemlock area, and back via Nutbrook trail and Shipley Park.

Saw one for sale at The Malverns in the mid 90’s but only in XL. Ah well!

Way out of your budget but I saw an Easton Kilo the other day, superlight and your wallet would be the same at about £450 if you got one.

Sold as a two man as well.

Quite like the ‘Goats don’t Shave’ album that I have Idlejohn, takes all sorts though.

Wandering around a Glasgow record shop I once bought an album by Blue Aeroplanes I would not have otherwise heard. Also Betty Serveert on another occasion – might stick them on the player later.

I went Thursday and also picked up a joystick for £80 and some meals to try out for bivying this spring from the outdoor side. I found it interesting as I not been to an outdoor show before and a while since I have been to a bike show. Boats were by far the biggest floor space but I did not bother with that side.

Mrs B lives near by so it cost me £1.30 on tube/DLR and about an hour each way plus the ticket price. Probably wouldn’t go next year as the bike side was the smallest section.

The Pegasus did look nice, didn’t ask the price as I knew I coudn’t afford it.

Growing up with record shops I am disappointed at the failure. Here in Derby we had a really good store called Reveal Records for a number of years which won an award some years ago but that as been closed a while.

Never really downloaded music until I got a voucher recently via Nokia as the quality on mp3 is so poor. I appreciate it is the future though:-(

Currently listening to ‘After The Gold Rush’ by Neil Young on vinyl before moving onto Lucinda Williams – happy days – all sounding wonderful.
