Started out raving as a spotty 17year old at the carlton in morecambe on a friday night in 91.For the next 10 years I went to some of the best clubs in the north of England.Hacienda,,bowlers(manchester),angles(burnly),empire(morecambe),maximes, wigan pier(wigan)love shack(blackpool),feel(preston),orbit(morly),back to basics,up your ronson(leeds)gatecrasher(sheffield).Good times.Looking back I’ve probably had more drugs pass through my hands than a line manager at glaxo 8O.Do I regret those times ?.No,not at all.Esp. since I met my wife on bowlers car park 16 years ago and were still happily married.

Moved to flats after 7 years of spds (cb malletts)about 2 years ago.I always thought spds was a far superior way to pedal until I gave decent flats a go (wellego mg1’s).Now moved to am40 shoes from vans and the difference is even smaller.

Have a look at the tentigers workout in the build bigger muscles section on the mens health forum (stop sniggering).Really good workout esp. if your just starting out.Word of warning though, make sure you are lifting the freeweights correctly or you could do yourself a mischief.

Took my 19 month old rhodesian ridgeback out for the first time round gisburn on a monday morning couple of weeks ago.Normaly ride in the lakes but decided on gisburn because of the lack of road work involed so I didn’t have to worry about carying a lead.He was a bit giddy to start with but soon settled down.Took the 18km red and black route in his stride. As other people above have said you are best waiting until they have fully developed before you start putting the miles in.

Biketreks for me even though it’s 44 miles from me.Why?.The excellent customer service.A good example was when I had issues with my lyric 2 steps (no suprise there then) which was on the sc nomad I bought off them.Phoned them up and they said no problem, bring them in and we’ll send them off to be repaired under warranty.Five minutes later keith Phoned back and said he was visting his sister who lives nearby to me so to save me the trip upto ambleside he would pick them up and when fixed drop them off at my front door. 8)

Recently got a smart lunur 1 watt rear light.Bloomin eck it’s bright!.Only about £16 in the sales at the mo.Also I think it’s a good idea to have a light on you,be it on your helmet or rucksack. If for whatever reason you become “detached” from your bike(fixing a puncture or,god forbid, coming off) car drivers will hopfully still see both you and your bike.
